Swing Trading for Beginners: Turn Price Swings into Profits Using Simple Trading Strategies in the Financial Markets Today with Zero Trading Experience Required

Rate this book
The stock market moves in mysterious ways. Sometimes stocks just move a few pennies. Sometimes, they go into dips. Other times, they shoot up like rockets. Wouldn't you like to be able to make real money out of the big swings?

Most of the time, those big swings don't come from nowhere. The price looks as if it suddenly went up for no good reason - but if you track the market the right way, you can see how that situation emerged. Take that a step further, and you can see these situations appearing before the price shoots up.

That's the way successful traders made their money. Traders Lien started out trading FX at JP Morgan, and now trades for her own account; she is also well known writer on swing trading techniques.George Soros, a hedge fund manager and swing trader - one of his biggest trades was a $1bn profit making short sale of sterling in the run-up to Black Monday in 1992.Nicolas Darvas - a dancer by profession - who made $2m in less than two years using his own system of share price analysis.
And you could join them too!

Why do rookie swing traders fail? Mainly because they make six big mistakes.Gathering huge amounts of data without having a clear strategy for using it. Having a clear trading plan is vital!Hanging on to losing trades and not using the stop-loss limit to exit the trade while limiting their risk.Betting the bank by putting their whole trading book into a single position. Diversifying the trading book is key to profitable trading. They overtrade, running too many trading positions at a time. It's costly, wastes energy, and often results in taking on suboptimal trades. They don't quantify their risks and expected returns. The math is basic, but it's absolutely vital to know how much risk you're running for how much profit.Getting emotionally involved with their trades.

Lots of good info

The first half was amazing and taught me so much. Then it got into a lot of fussing and counseling for things I haven't actually messed up yet. The last couple chapters about taxes were useful too. I give it 4 stars because it is a good and useful book for those of us who want to learn, but only 4 because of the time spent fussing at me. Either way, I hope it helps me make a few extra dollars. Thanks for the advice

Just as Good as Others

I've learned so much from the other trading books the author has written, and this one was just as informative. I like that the author includes internet links to color graphs and charts, which enhances the reading experience.

Very informative

This book offers great insights into swing trading. The charts and graphs are extremely helpful in illustrating the points, and the quizzes are a great reinforcement.

This is the 4th book of AZ's that I have read, and the one that most closely relates to my trading style. The best part about his books is his realism. He gives you techniques that have worked for him and for others, but promises you NOTHING. Highly recommended.
