First time knitters take caution, I'm doing the leaf shawl pattern and the instructions state that during the repeat of rows 24-43 there is an increase of 20st overall. However that is not true, it is 18st as row 34 includes four decreases and only two increases so you actually lose two stitches in that row. I'm trusting the process on this one and just taking it row by row, but if you try this pattern and get frustrated that your stitch count is off don't panic.
