4/3/2017 This is a good book for kids who want to do craft projects without a lot of assistance from their parents. Some of the projects aren't new, but have little details that make them special (The paper plate lion face has whiskers that extend past the cut out so they look like they are on the child's face.) I really liked the paper tube animals and tube letters - super cute and creative.
8/17/25 changed from 3 stars to 2. I didn’t realize I had read this book already, and was less impressed this time. There are some good starting points, but none of the crafts thrilled me in the form they were presented.
Nice to focus on inexpensive paper as a foundation for crafts. There were a couple items I want to try at Royal Family--the doily tiara & collar, the water balloon birds, the Happy Birthday from twisted balloons.
Paper Goods Projects is a wonderfully inspiring how-to book for anyone looking to create beautiful crafts on a budget. For just pennies and a quick trip to the grocery store you’ll be in business with the projects in this book.
The author has included some basic, yet unique, ideas for using coffee filters, paper doilies, cupcake papers, lunch sacks and other inexpensive materials. I especially loved the recycled materials ideas. Any parent, teacher or caregiver will be able to go back to this book time and again for creative inspiration. The photos are crisp, clear and beautifully instructional.
I would highly recommend this book for anyone searching for low-cost, simple art projects to create with kids. The price is extremely affordable for a book of this quality. I’m happy to be able to add it to my craft book collection!

This is a cute crafty book- it has more kid themed ideas in my opinion so it was a little less beneficial for me in my private art projects than I would have wished, some of the ideas were ones that I have used before but there were new fun ideas like the tube letters that I absolutely love! I volunteer and work with kids in art programs and I can easily see myself using a lot of these projects with them and I think the book is fun and well laid out. If you are looking for easy crafts that have a quirky, fun look and don't require a ton of skill-no Pinterest fails here-this is the book for you!
nonfiction; crafts (kid-friendly and adult-friendly, for fun and for party decorations). Many of these you've probably seen before (who hasn't made masks from paper plates or little houses from milk cartons?) but the process of making the (deceptively simple) dyed coffee filter flowers is mesmorizing, and a lot of them will have you saying "why didn't I think of that?" for how simple (and beautiful) they are. worth a look-thru; check it out at your local library (or see if you can get it through your library's Link+ service).
This book is full of cute projects that only call for cast-offs and inexpensive materials. With so many trash-to-treasure books telling you to buy expensive materials to use with your recycled items, this is a very welcome breath of actual frugality.
Almost all of the projects can be done with and/or by kids. That being said, there's a lot of them that would make nice gifts between adults - I've got my eye on the TP tube trinket box and the TP tube letters as coworker gifts. The coffee filter flowers - there's several types - are also quite tempting.
I loved this book. I like to think I'm a crafter but I know many people who blow my skills out of the water. I found this book easy to follow and very inspiring. I initially was attracted to the book for my own purposes but totally think I'll use it with kids at the Library. A must for all paper crafters. Can't wait to see the finished projects and use them as gifts!! I received a copy of this book through the blogging for books program in exchange for an honest review.
With crafts made with coffee filters, paper plates, cardboard rolls, the crafts feel, well, crafty. Fun I'm sure with kids, or for kids, but I like things a little more grown up.
Very interesting ways to reduce reuse and recycle. Plenty of ideas that can be tweaked to ones benefit. Great illustrations with easy step by step directions
