18 projects to crochet happily ever after. From the whimsical mind of Beastly Crochet author Brenda K. B. Anderson comes a funtastic collection of 18 fairy-tale inspired crochet projects. Little Red's hood with integrated infinity scarf will stay put when she's being chased by the Big Bad Wolf. Sleeping Beauty now has just the right nightie to wear while waiting for Prince Charming to wake her up. Gretel can take her snacks to go with her cupcake purse. Plus the Evil Queen will know exactly who the hottest in the land is when she gazes into her Mirror, Mirror on the Go makeup case.Heroines, fairy princesses, witches, and big bad wolves are all accounted for in this fanciful collection of crochet accessories, toys, bags, kids' clothes, and more.
Only three stars because 1) cute, but not worth killing for kind of cute 2) this book has hands down the longest, most complicated crochet patterns I've ever seen. Like, every single pattern has at least 4 full pages (and this book has big pages!) of instructions, most with at least six. Um. Maybe make your products worth the ungodly amount of effort first? I honestly don't think any of these patterns are worth putting in all the time and dedication that they require. Cute idea, though.
Interesting and cute designs but the instructions are really bad, hard to follow and even nonsensical at some parts. It is getting on my nerves! I only wanted to make cute stuff, not get mad and lose time because things weren't explained clearly.
I love these type of themed crochet pattern books. As a fan of fairy tales and cosplay, I would totally wear a full Snow White costume to the grocery store, but most people wouldn't. That's what's so awesome about this collection. There are a few whimsical, cutesy patterns, but most are versatile enough to wear with anything. This book is made for the more advanced crocheter, but a couple would be suitable for a beginner.
I was drawn to this book because I love crochet and fairytales. However, there weren't a lot of patterns that I really liked. I loved the dragon scarf on the cover, and a few others (like the frog hat and Unicorn hoodie for kids), but mostly they were just pretty basic projects with little extras added to seem more fairytale-themed. It's not a bad book, in any way, it just wasn't as good as I hoped it would be.
Some lovely and very inventive designs. My personal favorite is the Snow Queen Beret. These aren't really beginner or quick designs but that is ok with me.
The designs in here are nice, but the patterns are lengthy and convoluted. I’m not sure I’ll ever actually make anything in here, which is disappointing.
This book has a lot of really fun projects in it. I just had to make the Bad Apple Fingerless Mitts, in anticipation of Marissa Meyer's Winter. The pattern taught me linked double crochet, which pretty much solves the things I don't like about double crochet, and the mitts worked up nicely. I think I'll try the Magic Bean Stalk-ings next, and, of course, there's the Dragon Neckwarmer on the cover. Some of the designs are too little-girlish to be useful in my family, but I think I'll have fun with others.
This is a themed how to and pattern book for crochet projects.
I wish I had more manual dexterity! When In saw the cover of this book I just HAD to get it! The instructions were pretty straight forward and easy to understand. I really enjoyed reading it... Now I just have to find someone to make some of these awesome designs for me!
Lots of interesting designs. But a lot of us working projects are finding them quite challenging. Instructions leave much to be desired. Better punctuations might have helped. I'm taking a class and brought one of these as my project and the instructor - who also has this book - is using my second ball to work right along with me. We are uncrocheting at a rate of twice what we are crocheting
This book is great. I downloaded this book on my kindle without there being any major issue with formatting that could not be fixed with readjusting the text size.
This book has a lot of fun patterns in it. I made the dragon and would love to try some of the other ones here. The patterns are fairly difficult though, so that's something to keep in mind.
