An obsessed fan is the last person I should trust. But when he becomes the band’s hair and makeup guy, I can’t escape this dangerous attraction, even when it threatens to take the whole band down with us.
Shawn
Three cheating ex-boyfriends have cured me of any desire to trust another person, but it’s hard not to notice the guy who comes to every single Baptism Emperor show, his eyes always fixed on me. I’ve never spoken to him, not until he suddenly becomes the band’s hair and makeup guy.
When the distance between us disappears, a sizzling attraction takes its place. There’s no denying the sparks, but I absolutely can’t hook up with an obsessed fan, especially because the band needs me to pretend to date a woman. It’s important for our image, they say, and I have no good reason to say no — even as I keep running back to Terrance.
Terrance
Working for my favorite band is my dream job. I can’t believe I can get so close to people I’ve admired for years and years. Shawn, the guitarist, was always the one who caught my eye, and now he’s sitting in my makeup chair, my hands buried in his hair.
When he invites me somewhere more private, it’s completely surreal, but I’m definitely not going to say no to my dream guy. Sure, he’s aloof and mysterious, but he must have his reasons.
Even when I see pictures of him and some girl, I figure there has to be an explanation. Either way, when he invites me back for more, I’m too weak to say no to the man I’m obsessed with.

I really loved the last book, but I swear, each book keeps getting better and better as this series progresses with each band members. Who’s the next one?
I absolutely knew that Shawn and Terrance were going to be something special just from the first chapter when Shawn sees Jim in the crowd. I loved how even though Terrance was a fan that he wasn’t some stalker fan. He just really loved the band, Shawn more so. Heck, after he got Shawn’s signature on the shirt, he totally forgot to get Jacob’s signature.
The groveling that Shawn had to do was perfect and had me giggling like a damn schoolgirl but it was so perfect how he casually took a seat with a magazine at the salon that Terrance worked at.
Shawn has definitely been through it for sure and was just scared to trust anyone, even his bandmates, who he has known for like forever. I loved how Emmett talked to Shawn about him not wanting to change and that made me love the stern manager more than anything because he’s always so serious and doesn’t like to have fun.
I loved how Levi was there for him when he really needed it. Made me love Shawn and his friendship so much. the found family was so perfect and I was here for this emotional roller coaster for both of these men.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

So I predicted this - Wild Infatuation REBEL ROCKSTARS BOOK 3 is definitely going to be about Shawn and a super fan 🤣
Previously …. “Any fan in particular?” Keannen says, leaning over the conference table to leer past me at Shawn. Shawn stiffens beside me and issues a terse “no” that only widens Keannen’s grin.
then Shawn, who gets a big reaction from at least one highly dedicated fan in the crowd.
Shawn sneaks another look up, and I could swear his eyes go directly to a specific spot in the crowd, as though he recognizes one of those people waiting for us. That would be absurd, obviously. If a fan ever got close enough to know one of us, Seth would shut it down instantly.
The next fan comes down the line. He’s bouncing, literally bouncing, with excitement, but for once I’m not the target of all that energy. He directs it right at Shawn, who raises his eyebrows but doesn’t look quite as surprised as I might have expected. “Wow, hi, um, would you sign this?” the guy says, sliding a T-shirt in front of Shawn.
Sooo let’s read and find out who this Super fan is ❤️
“Hey, y’all. We’re Baptism Emperor, and we’re here to play some music for you tonight.”
Shawn is the lead guitarist for the band.
Super Fan’s name is Terrance. He is a cosmetologist.
At a fan event, Terrance asks Shawn to sign a band Tee. I think this is the first time they have ever spoken to each other.
“Just a fan. Just a weird, obsessed fan. None of this is real.”
Shawn thinks Terrance is attractive and has noticed his obsession with him, but he isn’t going there.
Terrance applies for a makeup and hair stylist position for the bands upcoming music video.
‘I have to walk in there and act like a professional, no matter how hard my heart is pounding when I have my hands on the man I’ve fantasized about for several years.‘
Terrance tries to be professional and he survives being so close to Shawn while doing his hair and makeup.
‘Terrance … he’s been a shadow lingering at the edges of my life, and suddenly he’s real — real and tangible.’
Terrance intrigues Shawn but Shawn also thinks of him as an obsessed fan. He doesn’t want to engage in a relationship where he has all the power . Shawn’s been burnt before. Three times, betrayed and used.
‘Stupid, stupid, stupid. Haven’t you been hurt enough times? And you’re going to fall for some fan who sees you as a trophy?’
Shawn kisses Terrance but it’s interrupted by Levi.
Terrance gets called back to do some hair and makeup looks for the promo for the music video.
They share another kiss in the makeup trailer, then they meet up later for sexy time discrete fun.
“No one,” he says. “You can’t tell anyone.” “I won’t.” “Not your parents, not your friends, no one.”
🤔hmm Terrance has already told his bestie they’ve kissed.
Ooh Shawn’s management gently suggest that he present a straight image and have a band mates ( Levi’s) sister, Olivia, attend red carpets with him.
Shawn has Terrance over for some sexy times and tries to be like hey don’t worry about anything you might hear about this upcoming New York press junket.
Terrance is pretty upset about Shawn and Olivia .
Terrance reaches out to Shawn and he comes over for sexy times.
“Don’t worry about New York,” he says. “It was a publicity thing.”
Shawn’s management keeps up the pressure on him to be seen with Olivia.
Terrance confides to his bestie about Shawn but like in a public place . Omg - so of course a reporter was just sitting there and got the scoop 🤦🏻♀️
The reporter harasses Terrance at his work , wanting to know about him and Shawn.
Shawn is pissed at Terrance and his betrayal of telling someone about their relationship. They both are hurt and upset.
Shawn goes to the salon and asks for a trim.
‘The entire salon has pivoted to stare at the door. Shawn is standing there. The rest of the salon vanishes. For an instant, there’s only us, a glowing path connecting me to the tattooed, pierced rockstar frozen at the front of Saluxe.’
They kiss and makeup.
I loves yous are exchanged

I have read all three books in this series about the band Baptism Emperor, and I think this is my favorite. I enjoyed lead singer Jacob’s story with Seth, his bodyguard, and drummer Keannen’s story with Tim, the rival band’s drummer, but guitarist Shawn and Terrence’s story spoke to me for some reason. (Maybe because my son is Shawn and my husband was Terry🤔?). I could empathize with Shawn and his difficulty trusting others based on his past history. He is gay, but hasn’t dated in years and has sworn off relationships, keeping pretty much to himself when he isn’t doing band “stuff”. Since the band got started, he had noticed a man in the crowd at each performance, obviously a big fan of the band, but he never learned who he was until this man, Terrance, was on the set of their music video as the cosmetologist doing everyone’s hair and makeup. He was mesmerized by Terrence’s green eyes, and is drawn to him for some reason which he doesn’t understand. Actually getting feelings for someone, or trusting them, isn’t something he will allow himself to do, but he can have physical time with this man, as long as it is kept secret. Their meetings are usually last minute, and Terrence isn’t sure what is actually going on, but he will take whatever time he can get with Shawn for as long as he can. A band obligation for Shawn starts some events which make it hard for him to trust Terrence, putting their growing feelings and secret relationship in jeopardy, until the obligation no longer exists and Shawn must decide if what he has with Terrence is worth fighting for.
The characters kept me engaged and rooting for them to work things out and the whole situation seemed realistic. I liked that with this book the band wasn’t constantly on the road so the connection between Shawn and Terrence could evolve naturally over time in their familiar surroundings, from the initial glances at bar events to the music video and beyond. I could identify with both characters and where the doubts and feelings were coming from, and felt the way things were solved was realistic. Overall, I was very happy with the ending of this one. I do wonder if Levi and Dan will get their own stories, but there is no indication at the end of the book if that is a possibility. I hope so, they both deserve to find their person, too. I have read all of this author’s recent books, and it doesn’t matter if they are writing about rock climbing, a boyfriend or cat cafe, or a rock band, all of the stories are engaging, entertaining and interesting, with characters you can identify with and easily see as friends, world-building for each series is realistic and well done, and the stories pull you in and along to the end. I would recommend any book from F. A. Ray for a good read any time.
4.5 a great read Firstly, let me say I got this book from gay romance reviews and this is me leaving my honest review. This is the third book in the rebel rockstars series and in this one we learn more about Shawn who is the guitar player of the group. When the group was playing in local pubs, Shawn always noticed a guy in the back, he was at all of their gigs. But he never came up to Shawn or offered to buy him a drink. He was just in the background. And then when they made it big Shawn would still notice this guy at shows. When they were doing a local meet and greet with fans the same guy came up to him to sign his shirt and The attraction between them was fierce. The eye contact was unbreakable and the guy he even left without getting Jacob autograph and he was the lead singer of the group. It left Shawn dazed. So when they are getting ready to do the video for their latest song, he was surprised to find the same man standing in the hair and make up department. It was safe to say Terrence was obsessed the group Baptism Emperor. He would go to every gig they had before they were famous. And it was safe to say that the lead guitarist. Shawn was in all of his dreams. He just couldn’t take his eyes off him. So when he gets a chance to interview for the hair and make up for the group in their new video, he jumped at the chance. His life was kind of boring he went to work thankfully his best friend worked there too, then he goes home. That was his life so he was ready for some excitement. When these two first introduce himself properly, it was electric you could feel the current just running through them both. But you see. Shawn had trust issues and to get involved with the make up artist was not a good idea. But this attraction was so strong could Shawn trust his gut that Terrence wasn’t afraid?? I’m not gonna give you the storyline you need to read this book yourself. I’ve got to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. the attraction between these two. It was so hard to read when things went wrong because i just wanted to scream at the top of my voice, it’s not what you think. Give him a chance. These two make a perfect couple they are just so right for one another but as always when there’s trouble you even stand up and fight for what you believe in or you just crash and burn so what will Shawn do?? A great Read.
I just can't continue with this series, even though I wanted to see Dan and Levi get their HEAs. Keannen was awful to Tim in Wild Obsession and didn't redeem himself until far too late in the story, and I wanted Tim to tell him to take a long walk off a short pier. Jacob and Seth in Wild Fixation were better but the story promised far more than it delivered. And now we get Shawn and Terrance. I liked Shawn as a character, full of anxieties and fear, not able to trust anyone due to his upbringing and dating history, and he didn't even feel able to open up to his bandmates. Terrance was obsessed with Baptism Emperor, and with Shawn especially, though he wasn't a stalker, thank goodness.
Spoilers
Terrance was so high-handed in his thoughts and actions, taking no responsibility because he didn't mean to be overheard, so that's all okay then? Never mind that he broke his promise. My sweet Shawn then went round apologising to everyone else because he didn't open up to them, and he should have told them about his family and his dating horrors. That was what really got my goat. No one is entitled to your secrets, whatever they are. His bandmates just seemed oblivious in general to Shawn's turmoil and anxiousness, and don't get me started on Emmett's bright idea that wasn't actually his but someone who should have known better than to set that in motion. I can't read any more in this series and probably from this author.
'It’s like I’m the only person on that stage. The way he stares at me, even Jacob might as well not exist. For a moment, the only people in this whole bar are me and him. I know him. Not his name or age or anything personal, but I know his face. I know that look in his wide green eyes. I know the soft parting of his lips as he gazes at me with utter awe. This isn’t the first time our eyes have locked this way at the end of a show. Hell, it isn’t the tenth. He’s at nearly every show, no matter how far we travel, no matter how small the bar, no matter how many times he’s heard us play the same songs. If we have one superfan, it’s the small guy at the back of the crowd, a dude who would be completely unremarkable aside from those bright eyes of his.'
I loved this book! I was immediately drawn to the premise. What fan would ever get the chance to work a job like that with their favorite band, let alone begin a romance with their favorite member? It's a fantasy and I was all in!
I loved both Terrance and Shawn. Terrance was such a sweetheart. He certainly was devoted to the band and went to all the shows, but particularly drawn to Shawn. Shawn has noticed the man's green eyes at every show and finds himself drawn to him- his calmness making him stand out in the crowd. I loved that Terrance got got so flustered at a meet-and-greet with Shawn that he forgot to get the lead singer's autograph and didn't notice until weeks later. lol I liked the way their relationship developed, but it wasn't easy. Shawn's been hurt before and keeps his walls up, and anything between them has to stay secret. I really found them both so relatable, and I got so invested in these two. Loved the supporting characters. 5 stars
Shawn McKay is the lead guitarist in the rock band Baptism Emperor, but never feels worthy of his job. He has been downtrodden so much by his father, that he doesn’t believe he is good enough for anyone. His father tells him to get a real job and that his sexuality is just a phase.
Terrance Livingston works as a cosmetologist and is quite possibly one of the biggest fans of Baptism Emperor, and he particularly likes Shawn. He is going to make one of his dreams come true by meeting his favourite band at a meet and greet. Terrance has been a fan since the first gigs, always going to each and every one. Shawn and Terrance always catch each other’s eyes when they are in the same room. There is a magnetic connection between them.
For their new video Baptism Emperor are looking for a new hair and makeup stylist. Terrance applies and luckily gets his big break. Shawn is happy that Terrance is around him, the tension bubbles over and they hookup. Shawn wants more with Terrance but in the back of his mind is his father telling him he is useless, and the three boyfriends that have betrayed him in the past. Terrance promises not to tell anyone their secret but the paparazzi find out anyway.
This is the third book in the Rebel Rockstars series from FA Ray. I have loved the first two but this is my favourite so far. Terrance is such a sweet character, with a crush on a member of a band, never in his widest dreams did he expect to meet Shawn, let alone love him. The writing flows easily and I love the descriptive words used. It was also lovely to hear about the other relationships in the band, Jacob and Keenan, I am looking forward to Levi’s story now.
This is book three in the author’s Rebel Rockstars series. I’ve been waiting on this one since the previous book, Wild Fixation! As quiet as Shawn was and his breathlessly shy little fan, I KNEW it was gonna be good and it definitely didn’t disappoint.
I felt for Shawn, I understood his reasoning for the things he did—didn’t agree with it but I understood—but Terrance was far and away my favorite MC. He was so sweet and understanding, so patient and always making excuses for Shawn’s keeping him at a distance…I just wanted to hug him so hard! I was glad he had his best friend, Penelope; she was one kick butt woman and extremely protective of him; he needed that. I hate that Shawn didn’t have that kind of support but he kept everyone, even his bandmates, at a distance and refused to confide in them so he was pretty much all alone.
We did finally get our HEA—not without a few hiccups—but we got it. Although the book CAN be read as a standalone, I think it’s more enjoyable and you get more out of it if you’ve read the previous two books but it’s not strictly necessary to be able to follow along. I have to say, this wasn’t my favorite book of the series (I kinda have a thing for bodyguards), but I loved it as a companion to the other two and will probably read all three again, when I can enjoy them back to back, seamlessly, without months long breaks in between. For readers who enjoy rockstar romance, I recommend this wholeheartedly, you’re gonna love Terrance but maybe spare a little bit of understanding for Shawn. 4.25 stars!
I received a copy of this book for free but am voluntarily leaving a review.
MY OPINION: I liked this book; I’ve read the first and third books. For sure, I am going to go back and read the second one. These are well-written and enjoyable to read.
It appears that each of the books focuses on the same band, where they slowly find love. This one gives an overview of how they started off and ended up famous.
We focus on the lead guitar player, Shawn, who is broody and quiet, wanting to play his music and be left alone. He has a lot of things he wants to keep private, because reliving his past was not something he was prepared to deal with. He had his bandmates and his music, which was plenty for him.
Terrance is a cosmetologist who also cuts hair. He is a superfan of the band and has lusted after Shawn since they were playing in dive bars. He gets the chance to work on their music video and be near the guy he is crazy about.
Shawn has many secrets, but he is also a man with needs. Now they have to navigate being famous and keeping those secrets. What the public thinks and sees affects both of them. There is a spark, and plenty of chemistry, but they have to figure out if Shawn can learn to trust Terrance. Being together is hard; finding a happily ever after is even harder. Terrance is patient, but will this be even too much for him? He is sunshine, and Shawn is a bit of a dark cloud. Together, they make a storm, but it’s a wonderful opportunity to find love.
I like these stories a lot. A great addition to your TBR list, you’re sure to enjoy them.
I really enjoyed this book. I'm a sucker for celebrity romances - unlike in real life these guarantee the HEA.
I did not realise this was the third book in the series but I have purchased the first two after reading this as an ARC.
Baptism Emperor is a rock band on the rise. Lead guitarist Shawn has had his heart broken three times by three men, not to mention his father was very homophobic and said his being gay was 'just a phase', a phrase I loathe in both reality and fiction. It didn't put me off the book, just that character (not that he made any on page appearances). So he has a lot of trouble feeling he can trust anyone, sadly including his bandmates. No one really knows him, even his closest friends, when it comes to romance.
Terrance is a make up artist (cosmetologist is the professional term) and hair stylist, who is a huge fan of Baptism Emperor. He's been a fan since they were playing in tiny clubs and has continued to follow them. He even runs the Discord server for the band. He has long had a crush on Shawn. He doesn't push, but does take the chance when Shawn is receptive, if not the instigator of something between them.
They hook up a few times, both interested in more, but keeping quiet about it as Terrance doesn't want to push and Shawn's shell hasn't been cracked.
One publicity relationship with Shawn and a woman later and a reporter finding out about Shawn and Terrance and things implode. Of course being a romance, it's not a spoiler to say they find their way past that eventually.
WILD INFATUATION is the third book in the Rebel Rockstars series, and it's the turn of lead guitarist, Shawn, and long-term top fan, Terrance.
Terrance has liked the band from their very start, following them to dive bars to watch them perform. Along the way, he realises he likes Shawn, whereas a lot of others like Jacob. Shawn is aware of the green-eyed man who has been to every show, but because of his troubled past, is determined to keep his distance. That works okay until Terrance applies for, and gets, a temporary job as Hair and Makeup for the music video they are shooting.
This story drew me in as I was reading it, although it also had me shouting aloud at various parts. Terrance is a good soul with pure intentions, too good for the world we live in. So when what happened happened, I can't say as I was surprised. Shawn is very close-lipped regarding everything, but it did surprise me just how little he told his bandmates. You know, the ones who have been with him from the get-go!
This was a good story that I read in one sitting, and works well with the other books in the series. I look forward to whoever comes next! Definitely recommended by me.

Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books! Jul 15, 2025
Wild Infatuation by F.A. Ray is book 3 in the Rebel Rockstars series. I did not realize when I started reading this book that it was book 3. I have not read the other books in the series (though I want to now). I would say this could be read as a standalone.
Shawn is a member of an up and coming band who recognizes Terrance as a loyal fan. However, Shawn has a lot of internalized emotions from his father’s treatment of his sexuality and his cheating exes. He’s afraid to start anything for fear that it would stall his band’s success or end up with him hurt again.
I absolutely loved Terrance and the way Shawn treated him sometimes made me sad. The relationship was on hyper speed and the ILYs came out of nowhere for me. I would have liked to have seen a little more romance. I did enjoy the groveling and Terrance was mature about his response to it. I adored the epilogue and it definitely made me feel better about my reservations. I do really enjoy this author’s writing style and look forward to the next book.
I received an ARC from GRR for my honest review

This is the second book that I've read in this series. I like that the author didn't just retell the same story line from Jacob's book and change the perspective to Shawn. There was very little overlap in the story line, which I appreciate. When I first dove into the book, I wasn't sure how the story would go with one of the main characters being dubbed as an obsessed fan. I wasn't sure if the story would come off creepy or uncomfortable. As I continued to get further into the book, I was relieved to discover the story flowed naturally and didn't seem to force the meeting between Shawn and Terrance. While Terrance is a super fan, he's also respectful of the band and it doesn't seem like he's interested just because Shawn is famous. Shawn's past really influenced his actions throughout the book. Without giving anything away, his past trauma influenced him in more than just his romantic relationships. His actions were frustrating at times, but I was happy to see effort being made to make things right. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys famous band romances. I look forward to continuing this series.
I adore Terrance! He's been Baptism Emperor's #1 fan basically from the get-go, and has a particular fixation on lead guitarist Shawn. (Also, Baptism Emperor is an awful band name - what does it even mean?) Anywayyyyyyy... I found myself really rooting for Terrance, and caring about Shawn and wanting them to succeed. Note that the fake dating plot is NOT between the MCs - rather they're in a secret relationship and Shawn is fake dating someone else.
The only negative I have is this got really repetitive with Shawn going on ad nauseum about how Terrance is "just an obsessed fan," just over and over again. We get it. Also, I really would have liked to see Shawn seek therapy to help him with his very serious issues.
This is the third book in the Rebel Rockstars series, and can be read as a standalone. There are some spoilers for book 2, Wild Fixation, as some of the pivotal events in that book occur simultaneously as the beginning of this book. I read this book without having read the first two (but now I need to go back and read them because this one was so good!)
Wild Infatuation is a sweet, emotional rockstar romance that really tugged at my heart. Shawn, the quiet lead guitarist of Baptism Emperor, struggles with deep insecurities thanks to a toxic father and past heartbreaks. Enter Terrance—a loyal fan and makeup artist who’s had a longtime crush on Shawn and finally gets his chance when he's hired for the band’s new video shoot.
Their chemistry is instant, and the tension is chef’s kiss. I adored Terrance—he’s patient, kind, and so understanding, even when Shawn pushes him away. Honestly, he carried a lot of the emotional weight in this story and still managed to shine with his huge heart.
There’s angst, some secrecy, and a bit of paparazzi drama, but it all builds to a well-earned HEA. The writing is easy to get swept up in, and seeing glimpses of the other bandmates was a nice bonus. If you're into found family, vulnerable rockstars, and sweet-but-steamy slow burns, you’ll want this on your TBR. Definitely recommend reading the series in order if you want all the background, but it also works as a standalone!
The third installment of the Rebel Rockstars is absolutely on point. Terrance is a fan - perhaps even a super fan - of rising rock band Baptism Emperor for which Shawn is the lead guitarist. They noticed each other when playing dives in Seattle and when Terrance, a cosmetologist, gets a job doing hair and makeup for their new video, well, sparks fly. Honestly, it sounds fairly unbelievable with the attempt at synopsis, but it was just such a darn good read that you should just ignore that and read the book. I mean, who doesn’t love the idea of getting to have a secret…relationship…with the superstar of their choice? It’s realistic enough to hit all the dreamy buttons. There’s enough background to paint a picture of the characters, but it stays pretty surface making the story fairly light even with a bit of drama. Can definitely be read as a standalone. If you’re looking for a fabulous rockstar read with a wonderfully broody character, this is your jam. Get it? Jam.
This book really got me out of seriously long and annoying book slump so that’s worth a lot IMO! Honestly those 2 were so damn sweet I loved it!
I love how fast it starts, no time lost which was perfect for my mood! Their first kiss was so sweet and overall I thought they were both adorable. I loved spending time with them, seeing them fall in love, pinning,…
My only complaint is that the publicity plot didn’t make much sense. With 2 members already out and without really checking anything with Shawn it felt a bit thin.. But overall I had a great time with it and I recommend it! Probably my favourite of the series!
Quote I loved: “Even the scars every single man I’ve ever dated has carved into my heart aren’t enough to keep me from believing him.”
I've always loved the 'opposites-attraction' trope. As well as the grumpy-sunshine pairing.
Thanks to this arc from GRR I got both in this sweet/angsty mm romance by FA Ray.
Terrance is the sweet, fan boy of the band 'Baptism Emperor', attending almost all of their concerts and meeting Shawn at a media event. His dream comes true when he's hired to do their hair and makeup for their next album.
Shawn is requested to date women for the band's image. He isn't straight, but he feels obligated to do it, to help the band as they release their new album.
But when Terrance shows up, and they feel an immediate connection, it becomes difficut for both of them!
Get this for the attraction, stay for the romance and an HEA you'll love!
Thanks to GRR for this spine-tingling love affair.
I was a little unsure about this one at the beginning because I was concerned about the power dynamics of the relationship. Fortunately, Terrance's fawning fan behaviour was tampered down after the first few chapters and the dynamic didn't feel exploitative. This one ended up being my favourite of the series. It felt well paced and there was enough things going on that it didn't feel like I was just waiting for the next relationship/sex scene. There could have been a bit more resolution with Shawn's dad, but on the other hand, I'm not mad that I didn't have to read a homophobe spout off his BS.
Just as an aside, it's so annoying when books don't get added to Goodreads promptly! I had to wait almost two weeks for this to even get listed on Goodreads since I read it.

I was provided with an ARC from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest review.
Another sweet-and-steamy romance about Shawn, a rockstar who shockingly lacks confidence and fails to trust the people who care the most about him, and Terrance, the mildly obsessive and a tad stalkerish superfan with the heart of gold who willingly forgives Shawn for messing things up between them. Their long-drawn-out meet-cute is almost like foreplay, even if it looks like the bumbling kind between inexperienced teens. Not that either of them is a teenager or inexperienced. But the dynamics of their relationship, once it gets off the ground, are fully based on fear, mistrust, and a resulting lack of communication. I liked each man and was saddened by the way Shawn let his past adversely affect his present. Thankfully, he gets it together enough to eat humble pie semi-publicly--in Terrance's salon--and wins not only his man's forgiveness but also the lasting love he has always wanted.
Throughout this series Shawn has always been the one who never shared so going into this story all I knew that he was the brooding type, so I was looking forward to his story. Terrence was Baptism Emperor's biggest fan, he has been there from the start and whilst others screamed after Jacob, Terrence only had eyes for Shawn. I liked Terrence as a character, however when he was with Penelope, I did not like how she pushed and things may have been different without her being involved. Penelope annoyed me. Shawn could do no wrong, and my heart broke with the pressure he was under. However when he was with Terrence, the real Shawn was seen. This was a quick read as I was invested in their relationship and I liked how Terrence's job was interlinked with the band. I loved seeing Seth again as he is still my favourite character and I am looking forward to seeing more from this band
Definitely a feel good read. One where all the angst is generated by the two main characters, Shawn and Terrance. Shawn, the band member, has major trust issues but does notice the fan always at the concert watching him. Suddenly that fan, Terrance, becomes the hair and makeup guy for the band. So despited Shawn trust issues and Terrance insecurities and doubts they develop a relationship. I love that the real theme of this book is can you overcome issues of trust and in securities to find and allow love into your heart. Fortunately these two men do so. I have not read the previous two books but will so I can enjoy this entire family and series. I did receive an ARC and leave this honest review.
It was particularly neat that Terrance in addition to being a big fan boy for Baptism Emperor, the band that Shawn plays guitar in, he is also a good person who does not cross the line. He embraces an opportunity to be around them as more than a concert goer or when attending media events. Terrance does the band's hair and make-up for their next album and catches Shawn's eye. Shawn is asked to play it straight for the sake of the band's image but when faced with the immediate connection he feels with Terrance, and the fact that he is not straight, things get complicated. Thank goodness the good of the band does not win out over the love these two develop and they work their way through the bumps to their something good. I’m really enjoying this series and this band, this was a great addition to them. It took a minute for me to get comfortable with Terrance’s ‘obsession’ with the band considering this is a light read and the focus is not on the obsession from a negative viewpoint. The author deals with this well and the chemistry between the characters is clear from their first real interaction. It’s a romance where one MC just so happens to be a fan of the other, the story isn’t based on the infatuation, that’s just the set up to them meeting which was important to me to differentiate between the two. A great read I may have been reluctant to pick up because of the dynamics but it’s super well written.
A fun story that’s entertaining to read. The journey the m/c’s began was almost like a fairy tale. Meeting someone that you admire and then beginning a relationship? What’s not to love? Always needs some drama to make it worth the wait so you won’t be disappointed. An excellent friend base supports our heroes and add strength to the story. An interesting storyline keeps you invested in their happiness and the outcome of the relationship. A HEA is well deserved and a glimpse into their future brings our story to a lovely close. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
This was a sweet read Terrance is the sweetest and truly deserves to get the man he's been crushing on. Shawn's angst and history of cheating exes, his record label's pressure and Terrance's sweet and accepting nature, there was a good balance of angst and hope. I love how the relationship intensifies as Shawn builds trust... and that the major incident involves perceived broken trust.
This book is what I both expected and hoped for from this third and final book in the Rebel Rockstars series.
Choices bursts the bubble. Shawn, has been burnt in the past so he is relationship phobic. The he notices a fan who comes to every event. When the fan, Terrance becomes an employee, there are opportunities for both. The PR team needs Shawn to appear to adate women to help the image of the band. This causes a conflict because Shawn is attracted to Terrance. Interesting story about balancing career obligations, needs of the heart and choices and decisions. The bandmates are awsome and funny. Good story, nice cover art! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Shawn has trust issues based on events in his past and while he and Terrance have a super hot connection, he is reluctant to take a chance and open his heart. He's also bowed to pressure to be seen dating women in order to "help the band". When it turns out Terrance has a big mouth and can't keep some things a secret, everything blows up and reconfirms Shawn's instincts. Reestablishing the fragile relationship between these two isn't easy but they decide it's worth it. Not sure I'd have been able to forgive like Shawn did here which made this an interesting food for thought story.
Shawn is the broody bad boy of the band but really, he’s such a sweetheart. He has a hard past, but Terrance comes along and smooths out those tough edges. I love how different they are but their attraction is obvious from the beginning of the story. They fight so hard against what they want just for the benefit of the band. I’m so excited to see what happens in the rest of the series!
I liked this book, it's the third of the series, I read and liked the first one, I don't know how I missed the second and read and enjoyed this third one. I was an easy read, with a bit of angst and a lot of sweetness, it took me a little while to connect with the characters, but once I dit, I read it in one sitting. Both characters are sweet, I enjoyed reading how their relationship developed.
