“None of your business,” I retorted. “And don’t ask questions you don’t want the answer to.”
Professor Ambrose Hargreaves lives next door to his ex-wife Indi, and life is just perfect. Until he discovers his ex-wife is pregnant and suddenly the perfect life with his affair partner begins to unravel. . .
Author's This book was previously published in serial form on my newsletter and has been slightly edited and expanded. It contains on-page cheating.
Started out where the heroine has obviously moved on from her cheating and condescending husband and on to a hunkier and much more appreciative beau. Unfortunately lives next door to her husband and the evil OW who seduced him.
Usual cheating story with little to none angst. Because apparently it’s a very common and acceptable thing if a man cheats on a woman. So, in this one the heroine is also younger, more beautiful and successful. The hero is older, selfish, self conceited and cheating azzhole. He cheats because he was not able to impregnate his wife, so he tried with a nasty colleague. Heroine divorces him when she finds out and he gets together with ow. He becomes annoyed when he realizes she’s pregnant, while his gf is also pregnant, so, if the heroine weren’t preggo he would not have even noticed her. There’s no real regret until he realizes she’s moved on, and this is not regret, it’s about I don’t want it but I don’t want anyone else want it. So, basically the heroine gets preggo with ows ex hubby, who btw, is a hot, Irish, rich and faithful piece of beef rockstar, younger that the hero too. Hero starts regretting because ow is also a bitch, and guess what, it’s him that has fertility issues, not the heroine, and ow child is not his. That part, honestly, was hilarious, but what I really didn’t like was that the heroine, despite having a man who’s better in any way than the hero, and moreover, never cheated on her, still takes the hero back. So, to me, she deserved to be cheated on and I think she will be cheated on in future, because there was no reason why he would cheat on her in the first place. Or maybe not, since he’s over 40 and the heroine is younger, I suppose in a decade he will not have strength enough to satisfy her anymore, so cheating might be out of the picture. Sorry if I’m being bitchy, but I just couldn’t accept that she got back with that loser, having a wonderful sexy man as her baby daddy.
Love this author’s devotion to ruin and humiliate her abominable ugly puke-inducing MMCs and make them come back crawling in broken shards while eating turd and crying begging desperately the FMC for a 2nd chance which she won’t give until the last chapter.
Also love love how the FMC isn’t afraid or have doubts to move on and have great phenomenal sex with OM. 4 stars because the FMC’s baby daddy is the OM who’s amazing sweet loyal and great in bed 🫶)
Going in I know there would be cheating and since I also know Katie Landry has this standard to create a slapstick comedy like story of the cheating MMC and the FMC I didn’t really take this seriously and just enjoyed the MMC’s humiliation and suffering 🤣
Nope!!! Was reading this on substack and everything was going well UNTIL h cheats with her ex to induce labor. Wtaf?! I think I've gotta stay completely away from this author now. Honestly this book was actually funny and entertaining then it was completely ruined. Why couldn't the h stay with the rock star? Her ex only wanted her after she became pregnant. Just lovely 😑. Here though is where the crappy MMCs most definitely deserve each other.

I know this book was supposed to be a farce but it was just SO ridiculous. I might have been able to enjoy the revenge aspect of it if Indi had ended up with Finn (who was so obviously superior to the H) but she ended up going back to the smug, a$$hole husband who cheated on her for no apparent reason and deliberately rubbed her face in it at every opportunity.

I'm usually all about the second chance after cheating novels, but in this case, I would have been okay if Indi had ended up with the father of her baby. As it was, we had the ex-husband of the FMC, Ambrose, who is living with his neighbor-turned mistress-turned fiancée next door to his first wife. They divorced after she caught him with the neighbor. Ambrose is super-smug about his cheating and his new life in the beginning, although the story later ret-cons so it wasn't a full affair between him and the neighbor, just a one-time thing and he had to think of impregnating Indi to, erm, make the affair happen (hence the breeding dirty talk). That just didn't jibe with the scene we saw and the way we were first introduced to Ambrose and it really bothered me that the author went back and ret-conned instead of rewriting the scene.
Ambrose did get plenty of "humble pie" in this one, but it really seemed like he only wanted Indi back when he saw her pregnant with someone else's baby, and didn't really care about her before that. I wanted better for her than to end back up with her smug, snobby husband, raising what turned out to be his brother rather than his son. I did like how her baby's father ended up being the OW's first husband -- those stories can get super-fun too. Even if the author wanted to save Finn (the baby daddy) for another story, Indi raising her own kid alone and ending up co-parenting with Finn would have been better than ending up with Ambrose, who was such a know-it-all weeny mama's boy at the beginning of the story. I think I actually preferred the smug, overbearing, awful guy in His Vengeful Tradwife to Ambrose.
I am going to disagree with some other reviewers for this one in that I don't agree that what Indi did, sleeping with Ambrose toward the end of the book to induce labor, was cheating on Finn. I recall her telling Finn several times over the course of the book he could hook up with other women because, as she kept reminding him, they weren't in a relationship. Yes, he made it clear that he wanted it to be more, but Indi didn't. She was tempted and he was doing his best to tempt her, but it's not an exclusive relationship, as far as I'm concerned. To me that isn't cheating -- that's her telling her partner that they're FWB and can sleep with whomever they want. The fact that they weren't using protection with each other does make it a grayer area, but other than it being super-icky (a scientific form of measurement) to have unprotected sex with two men (one who you have actively encouraged to sleep with OW and the other who you have caught having sex with an OW), I just don't really call that cheating. For me, cheating is cheating because of the lying, not the sex -- it's "cheating" to make someone think you're in a relationship that they think means one thing, and for you it's another. If you are being up-front with it, it's not really cheating IMO. That said, if you don't agree with me, that's totally fair, just know going into it that while her punk rocker Irish boyfriend is out on tour, she has sex with Ambrose toward the end of the book, ostensibly for labor inducing purposes.

It just fell flat with how quick she accepts him back. Basically because her hormones were talking. It was just missing the in between and felt rushed at the end.
so.... this was wild. It's not a smut book like I was hoping for and expecting. There's barely any sex at all. It's the kind of book for someone who has been cheated on and then gets all of the revenge she deserves.
India had a good life, except she can't get pregnant. After getting another failed pregnancy test, she comes home to find her husband, Ambrose, screwing their neighbor, Astrid.
Yada yada, we end up with India living next door to Ambrose and Astrid, both India and Astrid are now pregnant, and India is now with Astrid's ex-husband, Finn.
A lot of funny-ish drama happens when Ambrose and Astrid realize what they lost. There's a really major and awkward shock moment, and then there's an HEA for some of the people in this fic.
It's a crazy and entertaining ride.
SEX: There's a brief mention of her catching Ambrose with Astrid at the beginning. There's some oral around 39% but it's barely a blip. Then two people fuck at 89% and it's just a pump and dump. None of it is anything to get hot over.
I'm giving it 4 stars because it was entertaining, plus I think every woman who has been betrayed deserves this type of revenge.
I always find Katie Landrys cheating stories interesting even if they follow a common formula: Husband betrays Wife ( typically wife walks in and observes cheating) then they separate or divorce. All the while they are still in love with eachother and the wife gets revenge in some way ( Revenge cheating ) in her husband / ex husbands face.
This story is similar but involves duel story pregnancies where the fmc and ow are pregnant at the same time. The fmc has gotten revenge on both her ex husband and conniving other woman by getting pregnant with the Other Woman's rocker ex husbands child.
I like the drama and humor that's woven into the story.
Read it as a slapstick lunacy because otherwise this is such a horrible thing to happen to anyone! A happily married couple - a sunny warm woman and her polar opposite of a staid stuffy professor - with only infertility issues as a blip on their hea. A s*xy neighbor moves in. Becomes friendly to the both of them. And one fine day, the h comes home to catch them having s8x, and him saying 'let me give you a baby' or some such? Divorce pronto-ish. But they are all still neighborly - only he moves next door?
The book opens on this smug, self-satisfied cheater a-h reflecting on his perfect new life! Only he cannot keep from peeping on and seething at his ex, who too seems too happy and self-satisfied for his comfort.
More Cray-ness?? Both women are pregnant! Some more lunatic acts later - we get to know that the fmc is preggers with the skank's ex - a hot rocker celeb! This guy is so hawt, he can single-handedly melt all the glaciers on earth. Why did the evil skank ever let the s*x god go is beyond me. If she can cling to a boring professor now, she would certainly know to not let a wealthy, s*xy man go. Anyways, the cheater's happiness begins to unravel at an ever increasing rate - before he is left with most humiliating of revelations.
All said and done, I am not happy with this second chances. Why go with a proven cheater and let go of a spectacular catch? Still, non stop entertainer. In a rubbernecking way.

This was a funny rom-com. The subject matter was serious but it is so well written that you know you are not to take it seriously. So even though it was about cheating, it is also about so much more; second chances, personal growth , love and steam. Full of far fetched cliches (evil MIL, hot sexy rockstar, crazy OW, etc) it was a fast paced funny story that ends in a good and funny HEA.
Not to be taken seriously (the cheating) because the book is so much more!!!
I love the plot. I love the betrayal and the gut punch moments. For me the writing in this one just didn’t work. It seemed a little all over the place and I just really couldn’t get into it. I wanted to love this because cheating books are my kryptonite. I hate rating gut punch caught in the act cheating books lower because we need authors to write them. I just can’t give this one a higher rating due to the writing and editing and the flow. But if you do like a cheating romance give it a shot. It could be a me thing
There is on page cheating in this one so beware! This is usually not my cup of tea, but if you’ve read this authors other works before than you should understand this is the trope she usually covers .
Anyways this book is absolutely ridiculous, I think one of my fave by this author so far! H is a completely ridiculous pompous fool, who really thinks he’s smart 💀. Oh and boy does he regret his actions REAL bad when he sees the baby daddy he got replaced with. The grovel is so entertaining. And man oh man, the OM/OW antics are so entertaining lmaoo. OM was hot AF too, I read this on Substack and was heavily rooting for OM, but it’s all good because he’s gonna have his own redemption story 🥳.

Don’t get me wrong- love a good revenge story when the cheating husband gets his just desserts, but this one is completely crazy and the characters are like caricatures of real people. I’ve lost interest….
I am not sure what I just read. I can never get this time back. 1. Authors.really need to make it where the lead male is completely unlikeable. 2. Ugh readers want a story where the two lead characters fight their way to each other. 3. Don't always want to read where sex is just for fun and not sure what kind of people the author created them to be. They might as well have been swingers. Why have the lead female character have no class and allow the other guy to do that in front of others?.Come on. Wish the description mentioned she'd get pregnant from another guy. I wouldn't have read it. When reading a romance a reader doesn't want the main characters to have better sex with others. We want that connection to be special. The author tried but failed to make this couple's story special.
Really enjoyed this one. Ambrose made Indi love him again from hard work, with no browbeating, chest-beating, aggressive behaviour. It was good. And I look forward to Finn’s story.
If you've read Katie Landry's previous books, you know she’s all about cheating stories that somehow end in reconciliation—so the complaints about this theme are puzzling to me. Honestly, I enjoyed this one WAY more than her Hockey Star cheating novel. I just read them like I read Jordan Silver books.... go into it expecting nonsense and you won't be surprised.
The story centers on Ambrose, a 45-year-old archaeologist and cheating ex-husband of Indigo, a 33-year-old massage therapist and environmental activist. Ambrose is now engaged to Astrid, his co-worker and next-door neighbor, while Indigo is living next door to them, pregnant with her own little bundle of joy. Oh, and Astrid’s ex-husband Finn? He’s a millionaire Irish rock star and, surprise—he’s the father of Indigo’s baby.
The book opens with Ambrose on top of the world—chair of the archaeology department, engaged, and expecting a baby with Astrid. Meanwhile, he can’t understand why Indigo hasn’t moved out after their divorce. Of course, Ambrose and Astrid love to tear her down, assuming she’s still pining for him. But when they notice Indigo's baby bump, things get even juicier. Turns out both ladies are nearly the same stage of pregnancy, sparking a dramatic and fast-paced chain of events.
A year ago, Ambrose and Indigo were trying (and failing) to conceive, with Ambrose’s ego bruised by the fact that he couldn't get his wife pregnant. Behind Indigo's back, Astrid flirted with him, offering a “non-monogamous” alternative. When Indigo eventually found out about the affair, she left him, and Ambrose immediately moved in with Astrid. LIKE SAME DAY. SHE SEES THEM SCREWING IN THE BACKYARD AND HE MOVES NEXT DOOR WITH THE OW.
Now, with both women pregnant, Ambrose is wracked with jealousy over Indigo's new life. He’s desperate for the future he should have had with her and their child. Meanwhile, Astrid is unraveling, convinced she can win Finn back. But the real twist? Ambrose’s sperm count isn’t great—turns out Astrid used his father’s sperm without anyone knowing. So, Ambrose’s fiancée is pregnant with his father’s child.
YOU READ THAT RIGHT. Astrid uses a sperm bank without telling Ambrose and in a plot twist of Jerry Springer proportions the "donor" ends up being his 75 year old father.
In a chaotic and sad turn, we learn Ambrose didn't even fight for his marriage—he never even realized his own shortcomings. As the plot twists get wilder (including multiple murder attempts!), we end with an absurd but satisfying conclusion: Ambrose and Indigo get back together, raising both their babies (his younger brother, her daughter with Finn)—and of course, there’s a miracle baby on the way for them.
Astrid’s in jail, having attempted murder twice, while Ambrose and Indigo try to piece together their shattered family. It’s ridiculous, dramatic, and ridiculously entertaining.

This is Katie Landry’s latest story with a cheating spouse and a heroine that actually lives a life after the cheating is discovered.
Now if this isn’t your first KL story than you know you are in for a rollicking ride of over the top behaviors and some good times. If this is your first KL story then please realize that you are not going to get all the emotion you would get with a more serious cheating or marriage in trouble story. NOPE! You are getting the story that we often wish would happen when the h catches her two timing husband in the act!
The heroine Indie is a free spirit. She meets the much older uptight professor Ambrose. They hit it off immediately(like immediately immediately). They marry, and he keeps trying to knock her up. Unfortunately it is not happening. Then one day Indie catches him being intimate with the next door neighbor and his coworker Astrid outside in a lawn chair. Fast forward a year….They are divorced. He is shacked up next door with the now pregnant Astrid(the ow) while Indie goes about her life without a care in the world….except for the fact that she too is pregnant! Hmm, imagine that….maybe SHE wasn’t the problem after all 😉! It so happens she got a major upgrade in the H department and it happens to be the ow’s ex! He is everything Ambrose is not! Rich, young, sexy, and a musical God…Finn has it going on and he is attentive to ALL of Indi’s needs. He is all in with Indi!
Ambrose and Astrid become obsessed with their exes. Is there a chance Ambrose could win Indi back? SPOILER ALERT: He will! But in the meantime be prepared for a lot of over the top shenanigans by the main characters….and the side characters. Ambrose’s evil mom and his long suffering dad, Harold round out the cast. This story has smexy times, crazy ow drama, lovely om drama, groveling H, babies, and secrets that will turn everything upside down! We also get a lovely epilogue to make everything right again! If you are need a break from some of your heavier reading topics, this should fill the spot.
Cheating = h comes home early and hears her neighbor having sex...with the h's husband on the back patio..is he the H? Yes, but there was another contender to be the H for most of the book
h sees H with OW = see above; also, the h and H divorce and H moves in with the OW, NEXT DOOR, so the h gets to see them together often
Grovel = H comes to realize that the stress of trying to have a baby with the h was too much and he gave in to a less than satisfactory time with the OW that he had no intention of revealing to the h, but alas, he was caught in the act. H felt like he had to commit to the OW, but the moment he saw the h was pregnant, his house of cards fell and realization struck that the h is still the love of his life. H engages in some light stalking and other outrageous acts to try and stall out h's new relationship all while trying to prove his love to the h. H gets humiliated and humiliates himself several times. In the end, it is not much of a true grovel, but let's be honest...this book is campy and soapy fun. It was a pleasure to read and I gobbled it up on the author's substack and then immediately read it once it was on KU. I love this author's works and understand that the goal is juicy drama with heavy doses of petty which is awesome.
Giggle-worthy = several moments of hilarity with the H and his humiliation, the antics of the OW and the H's dad has moments too
OW drama = OTT and fantastic. It would spoil too much, but the OW often goes to extremes that will have you shaking you head and heaving a deep sigh of exasperation.

I really enjoy Katie Landry's cheating romances. If you are bothered by cheating done by the book characters, don't read these books. However, if you like marriage in crisis type books, groveling MMCs, second chance romance her books might be for you.
POTENTIAL SPOILERS
We start the book after Indi and her ex-husband, Ambrose, are already apart and he is engaged to and expecting a baby with the woman, Astrid, that he cheated on Indi with. Ambrose and Indi struggled with infidelity while they were together. So it is a big surprise to Ambrose to find that after he left Indi she somehow is now pregnant. Ambrose was such a pretentious jerk in the beginning that I legitimately did not think there would be any hope for him in this story. Katie did a good job with the character's redemptive arc. Enjoy!

This is sooooo entertaining!!! 🤣🤣🤣 WoW!! I absolutely enjoy the reality as much as the bizarre parts!! People were just losing their minds left, right, and center 🤪🤣🙃
OMG, Astrid’s a C*nt!!: “her empty, barren womb and my good fortune.” Karma’s gonna smack you in about 10seconds B*tch!! 😏😁
Oh, a silver fox -vs- a whole silver bear: a big man in his 50s with a rough, craggy face and massive hands… I learned something new 😜💋💋
Indigo’s “Baby Daddy” description: “His voice came out like butter over the phone, like dripping, wicked, melted butter that would f*ck you ten different ways to Sunday” 🔥🔥🔥 & “Finn was a f*cking pagan Irish god in the bedroom” 💚🤍🧡💋 🇮🇪🍀 I want a Finn, oh pretty, pretty please?!! Even for just a year? It would be the best year of my life!! 😉😈😈💋🔥🔥

Ambrose is the cheating husband of Indigo/Indi. He’s currently boinking OW Astrid who is the next door neighbor. Indi comes home early and hears them in the neighbor’s backyard patio. On one of her patio chairs…
Chapter Two! They are divorced… and he’s living with the OW. Who is pregnant.
This has some hysterically funny moments and some twists I wasn’t expecting.
I love this author even though her heroines are doormats when the cheater ends up groveling. I truly wish that the baby daddy had been written so that he ended up with her. I adored him and I’m looking forward to his book next.
KU read. I’m probably not gonna buy this one, even though I enjoyed it. Still, it’s fun and a quick read.
I am going to leave off from rating this because I tapped out at 71%, but this will likely be my last Landry book. While I like the author’s style and wit, I am just not enamored of cheating revenge fantasy stories. I read romance books because I enjoy romantic escapism. I do not like OTT revenge stories that cater to scorned women. These stories are very humorous, but the antics and fantasy quickly dry up for me. I was ready to put the book down at 40%, but I kept reading for the humor.
This book has some very humorous moments and Landry really leans into the fantasy revenge aspect. If you like these type of stories, then you will enjoy this. However, these revenge fantasies are not my cuppa, and I have now come to terms with that.
I have to say this is a unique second chance romance. It is written very well and has a couple little twists secreted in the plot that make for a very good read.
The characters are all well developed and individualized. Ms Landry took care in creating each of her characters and it shows. Indie is an extremely strong female lead while Ambrose, I feel, sometimes has his head buried in the sand and definitely is a momma's boy.
This is an awesome read by a talented author and I highly recommend it.
Indi is a strong FMC. Ambrose is total mess. Their story is the proof that opposites attract. Indi is a easy going hippie type while Ambrose is a stuffed shirt professor type. He messes up spectacularly and doesn't seem to see how screwed up he is until Indi moves on with someone so much better. There is a lot of OW/OM drama. And of course an Evilish MIL. Their inner monologues were hilarious. Great book, pulled me in from page 1. Now I'm off to see if Finn has a book and read it.
I had to check 2x and make sure that the author wasnt a man. This book is for a very specific type of woman and that lady is not me. The characters were yuck and read like a wattpad it was eventul ill give it that.rockstar BDs cheating. cat fights. Plot twists where the father is actyually the grandfather etc.. etc.. Only dissapointed taht astrid and finn dont end up together because she is delulu actually dont even like her only character reasonable is finn and he gives me the ick too
When I read cheating books I normally hope the original couple can work it out… but for some reason I was really hoping Finn would pull through. He was over the top and acted dumb but he wasn’t a bad guy. Towards the end I started to wonder if she would be with both man.
Obviously by how Finn’s epilogue ended his story isn’t over. Hopefully it will all work out for him.
Love a Katie Landry cheating romance!! Literally her stories are so fun. I wish there was a bit more comeuppance for Astrid, because she really was crazy. I wish we understood why there was an epilogue from Finn’s perspective.
I’m not mad she got back together with Ambrose. It really worked out well and kinda how it should be. Though I would’ve loved a throuple too. Why don’t we know how Ambrose’s money issues were fixed.
