Her
Melody wants a simple, quiet life for her and her daughter Gracie, which is how they found themselves moving to the picturesque town of Blue Springs, Colorado.

Nestled up against the mountains, far from her old life, it's the perfect small town to start over in. That is, until Jackson Pierce unexpectedly starts working his way into her life, and her heart. Opening herself up to love again wasn't part of the plan, but against her better judgement she finds herself unable to suppress the urge.
Melody is finally ready to make the jump until a familiar face shows up in town. Everything she's been building comes crashing down when the past collides with her future. The secrets she's been keeping to protect her daughter Gracie are exposed, once again leaving her vulnerable and alone.
Will she get sucked back into old patterns? Or is she ready to demand better, not only for herself, but for her daughter?

Him
Jackson grew up in Blue Springs so it was a no brainer opening his multi-million dollar fitness chain here. As the son of a single mother, he's always been career driven, and business oriented. A man who's always focused. After getting his heart broken and being public humiliated, he's now known around town as the man who will never settle down.
That is, until Melody Miller moved to town. Apart from her obvious beauty, there's something about this mysterious woman that keeps drawing him in.
Determined to break her walls down, he begins to make progress and can, for the first time in a long time, see forever with someone else. But when a stranger comes to town looking for Melody, spilling secrets, Jackson begins to wonder if he knows her at all.
Will they let their fears and insecurities hold them back, or will they trust fate and make the jump?

I seriously loved this one. Jackie’s writing pulls you in right away, and I couldn’t put it down. This book was not Jackie’s usual (her previous two books were Romantasy), but it BLEW me away. At one point I even told her she’s born to write romance.

This story is about Jax and Melody and I genuinely loved them both.

Jax is such a layered character! He’s moody and at first, kind of a mess, but in a way that makes you care so much about him. I wanted to hug him (and occasionally yell at him), which to me is a sign of a great character. He felt so real and authentic.

And Melody! She’s one of those female characters you root for from the beginning. She’s funny, grounded, and doesn’t let Jax get away with anything. (Which I love!) Their dynamic felt so natural, and I loved their banter. There were moments where I actually laughed out loud. Their relationship just had so much depth. The romance was sweet and emotional and had just the right amount of heat without ever feeling overdone.

This book had everything I love in a romance…great characters, real emotion, and writing that makes you feel totally immersed. I didn’t want to put it down once I started.

Jackie is one of my favorite people, and authors, and I cannot recommend her enough. ❤️

Congratulations Jackie on a fantastic romance debut, and thank you so much for letting me be a part of the journey.

This is not my first book from Jackie. But, I am reminded just how well she can pull you into a story! From the get go I was sucked in & invested in these characters / where the storyline was heading. Jackie did not disappoint! I had the honor of getting to chat with her daily as I read through it, which was so fun! I gushed to her about how swoony Jackson was throughout. Well, he is a man, so he had his moments. HAHA! But, I loved him! Then, you have sweet Melody. She is definitely relatable. She is a little self conscious & trying to find her footing after a bad relationship. She’s also a mama just trying to do her best. When these two meet - instant connection. You just know something is there between them. Alsoooo, their banter was BANTERING! They made such a dreamy couple. Jackie had me feeling all the feels through the different phases of their relationship. It was just so good!

The side characters were also STRONG in this! Honorable mention to Summer - the biggest girl’s girl & greatest friend around and Jane - the sweetest mother / mother figure & friend.

Book 2 of this series can’t come soon enough!

I had the absolute best time buddy reading this with @sunshine_reads and sending all my chapter-by-chapter unhinged commentary to @author.jackie_e

I’m still amazed that someone could make jumping rope so dang sexy 🤯 but Jackie nailed it, no question.

Jackson and Melody’s push-and-pull emotions as they tried to figure out their status and relationship felt so real and frustrating at times. However it’s one of those stories where, if you know, you know. Trauma and life experiences can definitely shape the way we handle future connections.

The sweet little town of Blue Springs was the cutest, I could practically see it. Between the imagery and the people, I’m ready to hop on a plane and visit.

But what really sealed the deal for me was Melody’s daughter. Everything about her felt authentic and relatable. Jackson’s connection with her, and especially his mom stepping in with such selfless care, completely won me over.

And those little hints at the next book? I was excited before I even finished this one. I can’t wait! You should definitely grab a copy of this book right now.

My first introduction to Jackie was through her romantasy series, which isn’t my normal genre, but she totally reeled me in! So I was extra excited when I heard she was writing a small town romance. And let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed. Her descriptions of Blue Springs are truly depictive of the small towns I’ve visited in Colorado - so much so that I actually felt like was there the entire time I was reading. And the characters are so instantly likable that you’re rooting for all of them to be happy! Melody and her relationship with her daughter was just so beautifully spot on in capturing a mother’s love, and Jax and his connection with both of them was chef’s kiss. Jax’s best friend, Summer, was a total treat, and I hear she’s got her own book coming out soon (can’t wait!).

Grab a copy of this now and be prepared to have those heartstrings tugged. :)

4.5 ⭐️ I am quite literally so in love with this book and so excited for a not so typical sports type romance. A gym based around jump rope abilities and getting fit through jump rope? How unique and I loved it so much. A bit of Romantic suspense to add to the mix without overdoing it. Single mom one usually my thing (I have a weird thing when the guy comes in and immediately oversteps his role) but @author.jackie_e had none of that. He let our characters set a realistic lace making it super enjoyable and not far fetched. As per my usual reading tastes-there’s always some trauma and insecurities to overcome, and I just truly enjoyed how she let them get through these. Such an easy quick read, and set up so nicely for us to get Summers story with a very much needed grumpy sunshine mix. Support an indie author and check her out on KU. So so so worth it!

This story follows a single mom navigating a new small town and trying to find her place in the world and be the best she can be for her baby girl.

This author is a hidden gem! I found her from her fantasy writing but will enjoy everything she writes! Her writing has a way of transporting you to whatever she is writing and keeping you held captive in the story. Once I started I couldn't walk away!
