One hard fall in the rodeo ring.

One maddeningly gorgeous cowboy.

One chance at love she swore she'd never take.

Billie Wallace has spent her whole life trying to prove she's more than the Wallace Ranch's "wild" only daughter. All she wants is a shot at barrel racing―and a purpose beyond crunching numbers in her daddy's office. But when her very first run ends in disaster, Billie lands flat on her back with Ryder Rivers―her childhood crush, her brother's best friend, and the town's notorious heartbreaker―hovering over her.

In all the years she's known him, Ryder has never entertained Billie's shameless flirting. But after her fall, he's suddenly everywhere―showing up to help her when she's hurt, staring at her across the honky-tonk when she's trying to move on with a bronc rider, and encouraging her to explore her dream career.

Before either can really register what's happening, their partnership sparks into much more than just dust and arguments.

Late nights turn into stolen kisses. Stolen kisses turn into something that feels dangerously like forever. Ryder swears he's not the staying kind, but the way he looks at Billie like she's the only woman in the world makes everyone start to wonder if he's ready to stop running…

Thank you to the team at Valentine PR Audio for the ALC! I was SO excited to get an early opportunity to listen to this book- I love the series!

4 ⭐️ 3.5 🌶️. *No spoilers*

The final book in the Lucky River Ranch series focuses on Ryder and his childhood friend Billie. In a friends-to-lovers storyline, the book follows their paths from bonding over music (and Taylor Swift!) to navigating grief and staying true to themselves. I liked our FMC Billie, she’s feisty and different than a lot of FMC’s you typically see in other romance novels. I didn’t love that it felt like she was chasing Ryder for a good bit of the story, but that is honestly just a personal preference for me- I think I prefer when “he falls first” in romance novels.

I enjoyed the banter between Ryder and Billie-in and out of the bedroom (these two were SPICY 🥵!), since they grew up together there was that familiarity between them and their families that was sweet and made them finally getting together all the more heartwarming. More than the romance, I actually enjoyed the character development of both Billie and Ryder. Billie finding her voice and Ryder’s healing journey from childhood loss was very powerful and, for me, the best part of the book.

My favorite books in the series were Sawyer & Duke, but Ryder was a fitting end to the series. Can’t believe it’s time to say good-bye to the Lucky River Ranch crew- it’s been one helluva ride 🥹❤️‍🔥. Now, BRING ON COLT 😜!

Lucky River Ranch’s final installment hit all the feels! I’m officially head over heels for all the Rivers Cowboys.

But Ryder came in full swing 🤠

Ryder Rivers, oh, I was waiting for this man! If you know me, you know I love my Cowboys, and he did not disappoint. The youngest sibling and Duke’s twin brother, little bit of a playboy, always trying not to burden anyone with his problems, is guarded, & hates to admit he loves it when Billie comes around and riles him up.

Oh, and he’s the musically talented one out of the family.

Billie Wallace, she’s got spunk, so witty, full of spark, that girl’s confidence is contagious especially with her shameless flirting. She knows what she wants, and it’s him she’s been eyeing her whole life. She’s literally my intrusive thoughts if they came out. 🧡

The dynamic between these two felt so natural; we get glimpses of them in the other books, which made me thrilled to get their full story. Now that we have it, it was perfect.

The banter, the tension, bonding over music, the tenderness, learning to overcome both of their obstacles - I loved it all. Opening themselves to each other and just being in their own bubble of healing. They knew, and I knew it was endgame.

Playboy/broken boy reformed 😌✨

We get a glimpse of Ryder’s possessive side, because a girl has needs, okay, and well ummm BILLIE got him wrapped around her finger.

The spice? Talk about H-O-T. Both characters who ain’t afraid to say what they like.

5 ✨, because I was vibing with the whole book. Lots of laughter with the found family, the dirty jokes, and our spotlight couple.

(Don’t forget to get that bonus epilogue, ya’ll, it’s so good)

I’m so sad this series has to come to an end, but Ryder and Billie’s story wrapped up everything so sweetly. It’s not a goodbye but a hello because this really set the tone for what’s to come in Jessica’s new Double U Ranch series, with Colt being the first book. I just know the hate to love is going to DELIVER. I see those cameos👀

What you’ll find:

🧡Cowboy/ Small Town
💜Friends to Lovers
🧡Broken Boy x Wild Child
💜Fiery FMC x Broody MMC
🧡Brother’s Best Friend
💜All the Banter
🧡Filthy Mouthed Cowboy
💜Found Family

I’m really sad this is the last book in the Lucky River Ranch series, but I’m glad knowing we’ll see these characters again in Jessica Peterson’s next series.

Billie was such an easy FMC to love. She knew she had a crush on Ryder from the age of ten and never hid it, and I loved that she was willing to put herself out there so openly.

Ryder took longer to come around, mostly because of the grief he was carrying and his fear that he wouldn’t be enough for Billie. Watching her help him open up and work through that was one of my favorite parts of the story.

I will say the first 40% felt a little slow for me, but once they finally stopped fighting what was between them, the story really picked up and I flew through the rest.

The small town family feel is one of my favorite things about this series, and this book delivered that same warmth that made Lucky River Ranch so easy to love.

one last trip to Lucky River Ranch🥹

first i have to say my swiftie heart was bursting❤️‍🔥 I absolutely adored all the references!! I loved seeing them as kids and their connection even back then, Ryder really did so many things for Billie and just wanted her happy and always believed in her! Their love story was so beautiful and healing!! They both really started to grow when they finally got together and it was so beautiful to see! I always love seeing scenes with all the characters from the series and their found family is everything to me!! I can’t believe this series is officially over, I have loved every single book!! and Jessica does a great job at the lead up to the next book we are going to received! So excited for Colt!!

I really hate to admit this but I think I love Ryder *just* more than Sawyer and I never thought that possible. Billie’s fiery character is my dream FMC, I love a strong willed, witty and wild female lead and she was just perfect PLUS she is a Swiftie and that’s enough for me! I’m not sure if I’ve read a book with such a strong “she falls first” trope but it was refreshing to see her yearn for him since childhood but constantly willing to put herself out there time after time despite rejection being a possibility.

I am genuinely so sad for the Lucky River Ranch series to end but what an amazing last book and absolutely worth the wait. This was emotional and gripping in the absolute best way, I just adored Ryder’s character and seeing his character development especially in acknowledging his grief, feelings and working on improving himself for him and everyone around him. He was truly heart wrenchingly sweet with Billie so he has without a doubt taken the number one River cowboy title in my heart. This story was swoony, giggling with the witty comebacks but emotional too.

Jessica’s writing building up the characters and lead up to our new series Double U Ranch and Colt’s first book was amazing! I loved learning little tidbits about each sibling in passing and now I’m just so excited to jump right in!

4.5 🌟 3🌶️ I don’t usually rate the spice scale but I will say this was spicier than I expected, each scene was steamy!!

Thank you so much to Jessica and Valentine PR for my early copy 🤠💛

2/5 🌶️

This is tied with Wyatt as my favorite book in the series, and I honestly can’t believe we’ve made it to the final one.

Ryder settling down was not on my bingo card. The ultimate one-night-stand, commitment-avoiding cowboy? Gone. Completely undone. And the only person who could pull that off is equally wild Billie.

Billie is exactly what Ryder needs. She matches his wild energy, challenges him, and never lets him get away with being anything less than honest. I loved that she never really let go of her childhood crush, but she also never felt weak because of it. She knew what she wanted, and she went for it, even after that brutal fall that changes everything.

And Ryder… whew. Watching the moment it clicks for him was everything. The shift after Billie’s accident felt real and earned, not rushed. Suddenly he is there for her, seeing her in a way he never allowed himself to before, and once that switch flips, all bets are off.

The tension, the history, the brother’s best friend dynamic, all of it just works. Their chemistry is strong from the start, but what really sold me was how their relationship grows into something deeper without losing that spark.

This was the perfect way to end the series. Emotional, satisfying, and honestly a little bittersweet knowing we are saying goodbye to these characters. Ryder might have been the last one standing, but his story was absolutely worth the wait.

The audiobook is another Stephen Dexter and Lila Winters pairing, and honestly, they’re both fantastic. They really bring Ryder and Billie to life and nail the emotional beats. That said, my one gripe across the whole series is that it’s not duet narration, and the same narrators are used for all five books. It’s not a dealbreaker by any means, but I do think duet style would have elevated it even more and helped each couple feel a little more distinct. Even better would’ve been full cast for the whole series!

Thanks to Jessica, her publisher, and Valentine PR for the ALC of this novel.

Out April 7th – thank you to Valentine PR and Jessica Peterson for the ARC!

Ryder is the 5th and final book in the Lucky River Ranch series, and it’s such an amazing, emotional finale for the Rivers brothers.

This series has followed a group of cowboy brothers, and this time we finally get Ryder, the youngest twin. Out of all of them, he feels like the most emotionally affected by their parents’ death, and this book really leans into his healing journey. Watching him work through that and open himself up was honestly one of my favourite parts.

The romance is brother’s best friend / childhood connection, which I love, and it’s done so well here. Ryder and Billie have known each other forever, but there’s always been that line they couldn’t cross. As adults, though, they start spending more time together, and you can really see how good they are for each other.

What I loved most is that this is truly a mutual healing story. They both grow so much, individually and together, and their relationship feels really natural because of it. It’s not just about romance, it’s about support, vulnerability, and learning to let someone in.

Also… I did not expect therapy to be this attractive, but here we are. Emotional growth + cowboy energy = elite combination.

This book wraps up the Rivers family beautifully, but also sets up the next series in a way that has me completely hooked. The little glimpse we get at the end?? I am already feral for Colt’s story. If he’s anything like Cash level grumpy, I need it immediately.

Overall, Ryder is a heartfelt, healing, and genuinely satisfying finale. If you’ve loved this series, this is such a perfect send-off and if you’re here for emotional cowboys who actually do the work? You’ll love this.

It was time to take my final trip to Lucky River Ranch, and it did not disappoint!
Billie is the only girl in the Wallace family, and a barrel rider. When she falls off her horse during her first competition, Ryder Rivers, is the first one at the scene. Billie has grown up with Ryder all her life, as he's her brother's best friend. Now that she's an adult, she's starting to crush on him, but knows her brother probably wouldn't approve. Ryder, is also crushing on Billie, but doesn't want to ruin a friendship with Billie, or his best friend, Colt. In a small town, there aren't many options, and soon Billie and Ryder start hanging out more. It doesn't take long for them to develop feelings for each other, and even though they should be off limits, they can't keep their hands off each other.

I loved this book, especially the brother's best friend trope. Ryder is the perfect book boyfriend, and you can tell how much he genuinely cares for Billie, but also his friendship with Colt. Billie is struggling to continue to be her parent's accountant, or follow her dreams, and she gained an incredible support system in not just Ryder, but his sister in laws as well. The Rivers and Wallace families are the epitome of sweet southern families. Each book in this series has been a five star read for me, and I'm so sad for the series to end! The Rivers brothers will forever have a place of honor on my book shelf. I'm so glad this book set us up for the next series, Double U Ranch, and I can't wait to read Colt's story!

I truly cannot believe we are at the end of the Lucky River Ranch series! It’s impossible not to fall in love with these cowboys and Ryder was the perfect ending and cherry on top!

This book also does a phenomenal job setting up Jessica’s next book and series with Colt, which I’m already waited with bated breath for!

But back to Ryder and Billie-I love a confident woman! Billie speaks her mind, lets everyone know what she wants and how she’s feeling and I love that it leads to so much openness between her and Ryder.

She brings out a side of Ryder that everyone thought was gone forever and that is just so beautiful. They’re also just both extremely hot and we’re off to the proverbial races pretty early which I don’t think anyone is going to mind one bit.

If you’re looking for a cowboy romance series to get into, this is the one. The found family is amazing, it’s hilarious, it’s heartwarming and it’s steamy. You’re going to laugh, cry, blush, kick your feet and feel all the things.

Thank you to Jessica and her team for the early copy!

I am so sad to see this series end, but what a perfect last book!! I absolutely loved Ryder & Billie!!

Ryder is a rugged, broken cowboy, with all the hidden emotions inside. Billie is seen as the wild child sister to all the boys, but she was ready to prove she was so much more! she is definitely a stand her ground FMC! Together these two had the best chemistry!! The perfect friends to lovers story full of tension, banter, and so much heat!!!

When I tell you these two are steamyyyy. This one has the spice that just consumes you!! I love a dirty mouth cowboy, but Billie was meeting him right in the middle!! These two were everything!!

This book was filled with heart, emotion, steam, and hilarious moments between this family & friend group!! Jessica Peterson absolutely delivered for the ending of this series and set us up perfectly for what else she has in store!!

Thank you ValentinePR for this early arc copy & Jessica Peterson for writing the cowboys & their ladies that we can all fall head over heels for!

Thank you Valentines PR for this ARC!

I LOVE Ryder. The “baby” of the brothers. THE MOUTH ON HIM, I honestly didn’t know he had it in him to be that filthy lol I thought this was a great end to the series! Another series that I am sad has come to an end 🥹 Billie has officially taken my #1 spot for FMC in the series. She was so unapologetically HER. She was funny and whitty and her banter was *chef’s kiss*. Honestly, I saw A LOT of myself in her and I think that’s why I loved her so much. Ryder, I love you, and I am so glad that Billie was able to help you open up and get back to your old self again. The only reason this wasn’t a 5⭐️ read for me like the rest were, was because I felt like the story was too fast paced. I just wanted a littleeee more yearning from Ryder. But man, did Billie not give up and really worked him 😂 my girl was pretty much like “I’ve wanted him my whole life and imma have him” and I LOVE that for her! I am so sad that this series is over, but I am SO EXCITED for the next series and Colt’s book is gonna slayyyyy 😏 also, do I maybeeee see a possible MM in the Double U Ranch series?! I feel it could be set up like that, so please Jessica, give us an MM cowboy romance! 😍🫶🏼

I fear I will never be free from cowboy romances and honestly?? I don’t want to be 🤠🔥

Brother’s best friend.
Friends to lovers.
Small town.
Cowboy.
And a bold, take charge heroine who just decides “yeah I’m going for it” and drags the emotionally repressed cowboy with her???

Say less.

Also I tandem read this but the audiobook??? WON.
The twangy accents. The tension. The spice.
Stephen Dexter and Lila Winters absolutely understood the assignment.

Ryder really said “I don’t do forever”
and Billie said “that’s cute”

And yeah… this is Jessica Peterson so obviously it’s spicy 🌶️ A solid 5 star series for me 🤩

Also the setup for the next series???
I’m already emotionally attached to cowboys I barely even met yet.

Thank you @read_bloom for the arc and @blush_audiobooks for the alc 🫶

This was such a perfect book for Ryder and also to wrap up this family's story! Now all the Rivers boys have found their happy place with incredible women ❤️

I loved Billie, she was such a firecracker! And very relatable with trying to please her family.. So it was amazing to see her get what she wants and find her happiness.
It was also heartwarming to see Ryder heal and find his person in Billie. They make the cutest, funniest couple ❤️

Such a great story to wrap up the Rivers boys, they will always have a special place in my heart 🥹

Also! The first chapter has to be the cutest backstory for our couple! I was smilling so hard all the way through reading it ❤️

The perfect ending to a perfect series! I couldn’t pick a favorite Rivers brother to save my life. I love them all!

Ryder and Billie were perfecto 🤌🏻. I love a no third act breakup and a man who isn’t afraid to cry at the drop of a hat. Ryder is filthy and sweet and heartbreaking and just delicious.

Billie is hilarious and tough and strong and dang does she know what she wants.

Hoping I see more of the Lucky River Ranch crew in the new Double U Ranch series! Colt’s book gets set up nicely and woooooo weeeee it’s gonna hot 🥵

ALC Review 🎧

I was honestly so excited to finally get Ryder’s story, and it did not disappoint. This book had everything I love in a cowboy romance…heart, chemistry, and that small-town feeling that makes you never want to leave.

Billie was such a fun and determined heroine. I loved how badly she wanted to prove herself and chase her dreams, even when things didn’t go as planned. And Ryder… wow. He really gave off that classic broody cowboy vibe, but underneath all that toughness, he had so much heart. Watching him slowly open up and realize what Billie meant to him was one of my favorite parts of the story.

This book is definitely becoming my favorite in the series!

🎧 The audiobook narration was amazing.

Tropes include Brother's best friend, small town, force proximity, unrequited love (until its not... lol). Billie was hilarious and I absolutely loved her as an FMC. Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance
Spice: 3/5🌶️
(spice ratings are relative to similar books in the same genre)

The Catalog: F/M, brother’s best friend, childhood crush, mutual pining, friends to lovers, only one tractor seat, banter as foreplay, flirty MCs, forbidden feels, jealous cowboy, mental health rep, following your dreams, reformed rake, cowboy x barrel racer, free spirited FMC

Synopsis:
Billie has spent her life proving she’s not just the wild Wallace daughter, even if it meant banking her own fire. All she wanted was one shot at feeling the freedom of barrel racing, but all her hopes shatter alongside her arm when she takes a bad fall. Ryder’s been numb for a long time, but seeing his best friend’s little sister hurt, awakens feelings he’s ignored for a long time, and once they surface, there’s no putting them back.

Thoughts:
By now y’all probably know that this is my all time favorite cowboy series. Every single book in this series is just so dang good. These Rivers men will absolutely alter your brain chemistry with their dirty mouths, massive hearts, and indecently competent bodies. I’m down bad for these boys and I’m so sad that this series is now at its end!!

But wow what a way to end the story of the Rivers brothers! Ryder and Billie are absolutely dynamite on paper with how much chemistry and tension there is between them. Jessica Peterson writes banter so well, always creating such a sexy buildup to the inevitable explosion, and I loved every second of the ride.

Billie is such a free-spirited, wild woman and her character’s need for connection with nature really hit home for me. I love her character and I enjoyed how skilled she is in pushing Ryder’s buttons. As for Ryder, he’s the baby of the family, and has spent his life trying to be the “easy” kid, but that’s left him ignoring his own wants and needs. Billie awakens him in a way he truly needed, and seeing him come to terms with his ignored grief, and wanting his best friend’s sister, was pretty emotional.

I super recommend this whole series to everyone that loves cowboy romances, and I am so honored to have been able to ARC read all five books! Can’t wait for her next series 😍

Ryder by Jessica Peterson eARC Review 🤠

Oh the way I have been waiting for Ryder’s story!

This was such a fun read and a great way to end this amazing series filled with filthy talking cowboys.

Ryder and Billie have been friends their entire lives. Ryder is also Billie’s oldest brother’s best friend, so when the time comes when they cant deny their feelings any longer, they have to decide whether to keep it a secret or not.

This story is so dang sweet. Ryder is a certified playboy and Billie is a wild child, free spirit who has no place behind a desk. Ryder has some past issues that he has never dealt with and they are definitely holding him back.

The two of them definitely help each other heal and go after what they really want in life and with that create the most beautiful and caring relationship.

What to expect:
Small town
Brothers best friend
All the banter
Filthy mouthed cowboy
Found family
Broken boy x wild child

**ARC REVIEW**
Ryder (Lucky River Ranch Book 5) by Jessica Peterson
Release Date: April 7th

I adore Billie. She is a badass with a wild spirit. But in this book, we see her struggle with the pressure to be a perfect indoor daughter when all she wants is to be outside in the sun with the horses. Never in a million years, from the snippets I'd seen of her in the previous books, would I have believed that was something she was struggling with! Buy Ryder was also struggling in his own way. Since his parents died when he was 14, he's been closed off and refuses to feel his feelings and deal with his grief. Until Billie. Her honesty, bravery, and straight-shooting gets right through his walls, but her oldest brother Colt is Ryder's best friend, and Ryder doesn't want to betray him.

TO BE CONTINUED

I totally get way Jessica left Ryder for the end 🙂‍↕️ Perfect ending for this amazing series!

This book really hit a nerve, o relate so much with Billy on the way that you’re raised to be proper, a lady with a steady career even if that career it’s not your calling, but you don’t want to disappoint, to fit the mold; an it’s hard to get yourself out there and be confident in yourself and speak up! And I love that she did it! Even if it was hard and Ryder omg he was there to support her every step of the way! I love it! The way he opened up too, they truly are made for each other o love that!
The spice was so good 🙂‍↕️👀❤️‍🔥 they both are so hot!
This book made me feel everything, I love the found family, the connection this brothers have and the friendship between the girls 💖
It’s so sad that the series is over but I’m so glad that we’re gonna get to know Billie’s brothers 👀❤️‍🔥

Thank you so much for this arc 💖💖💖💖

(Lucky River Ranch, 5)
Jessica Peterson
Pub: 4/7/26

One hard fall in the rodeo ring.

One maddeningly gorgeous cowboy.

One chance at love she swore she'd never take.

I never wanted this series to end! But if it has to, and I get that it does, Jessica took us out on such a high note.🧡

Ryder and Billie were EVERYTHING. These two nestled their way into my whole heart and they will stay put for quite some time. Their story was jam packed with humor, heart, mutual healing, and some top-notch steam! I absolutely adored watching the emotional journey as these two found not only each other but themselves along the way from friends to lovers.

Love, love, loved this one from beginning to end!

One of my favorite lines: Two imperfect people being their perfectly imperfect selves with each other.

What I Loved:
🤠 Friends To Lovers
🤠 Brother’s Best Friend
🤠 Cowboy Romance
🤠 Found Family
🤠 T-Swift Themed Bar/Paper Rings
🤠 Meeting The Wallace Crew

Half of my heart is broken that this is truly the end of Lucky River Ranch, the other half is legit screaming for Double U Ranch and BRING ON COLT!
