Three female vampires have the perfect set up—they trade sex for blood. Of course, the proposition doesn't always go as smoothly as they'd like. But they have a remedy for that which involves body disposal courtesy of the pet they keep in their basement. Things are going well until an acquaintance from their past rolls into town, a hunter with a score to settle. He has a secret to leveling the playing field, but things don't go as planned.
What will happen when a deadly encounter creates something even vampires fear?
Now this is a vampire story with bite! A rapid fire story, there's not a single lull in the action. It's bloody, but not super heavy on the gore. You get vampires, wererats, a werewolf and a creature new to me, a Nocturnal. I loved all the characters, not a single one did I dislike. James I thought of as the comic relief. He was just so nonchalant about his situation it made me laugh. My favorite character was Michael. The story took an unexpected turn that I loved. What a ride once the twist was revealed. The battle at the end was top notch and the perfect way to end the story. But, it left me wanting to know who exactly are the Garrison brothers??!
Vampires. People getting their parts nibbled. Wererats (yes, I said rats!), other assorted supernatural creatures, a hunter with unfinished business, spicy stuff, and absolute carnage. So standard Terry Miller, lol. I think people who enjoy a supernatural battle royale would like this.
Terry Miller’s Dusk Bunnies is a wild ride of blood, violence, sex, vampires, wererats, werewolves, and a new horror I have never seen before. And this story is brilliantly told as only Terry Miller can. Gripping, bloody, sexy, and sprinkled with disturbing and atrocious horrors only extreme horror fans can appreciate.
Best of all, of course, and most importantly, it’s a fantastic story, a solid story. It has mystery and intrigue, suspenseful and wicked twists, intense action, and a colorful cast of vivid characters. There’s a lot more to it than the synopsis indicates.
In case you weren’t sure, Dusk Bunnies is set in Terry Miller’s Wererats universe. Like the Wererats stories, it is driving, relentless, and incredibly written. Things hinted at in the other books stalk the city in this one. You won’t want to put it down.
This is a fun and intense extreme horror read, highly recommended, but extreme horror fans only, please.
Alrighty...this isn't my type of horror, which is why I couldn't rate it higher than three stars, but I did have fun with it. I'm not a huge fan of sexual content, which this book contains, along with lots of bloody violence. If you're a fan of absolute carnage, supernatural creatures, and cross-species warfare, this is probably for you! It's a little on the extreme horror side (doesn't lean too heavily though), and features vampires, wererats (a Terry Miller classic, it must be said), and other crazy creatures!
Terry Miller delivers a monster mash AND a monster jam straight to your face without any filler whatsoever! Vampires, wererats, werewolves, and other fantastical creatures of the night are in no short supply here. It's a sleazy slice of bloody fun with a breakneck pace and plenty of horror action to satisfy fans of both genres! A great addition to the Evil Cookie Publishing library and a satisfying follow-off (follow-up and spin-off!) to Terry's Wererats trilogy. And if you haven't read those yet, what the hell are you waiting for?
