Veronika I crashed the double wedding of two of the scariest Irish Kings to get information. Information to help me find my best friend’s sister, who was abducted. All I had to do was hack the phone of one of the mafia members.
He was the perfect target. A disinterested enforcer playing with fire, probably not too bright. Someone I could manipulate.
Instead, while I’m upstairs in his hotel room pressing past the security shield on his phone, he’s pressing into me, igniting a hot, liquid desire that I’d never before experienced.
I had to flee before this deadly, dazzling man killed me or what was left of my resolve with his toe-curling kisses.
But when the Red Hill mafia comes after me, the sinful enforcer is the only one who can protect me.
Or destroy me.
Darren When a waitress at my best friends’ double wedding rematerializes at my table as a seductress in a slinky, red cocktail dress, I can’t keep my eyes—or my hands—off her.
But the next morning she’s gone. Along with the data from my phone. I don’t know what game she’s playing, but I intend to win it.
Except our game turns deadly when the Kings’ biggest rival tries to kill her. Now we’re locked in a safehouse together until I can figure out who she is and what she wants.
I’m the family’s chaos agent. I destroy and break things. I don’t protect anyone outside of the Kings. Especially not a total stranger I can’t trust.
But after a single night with her, my convictions start to crumble.
*Sweet Deception is a full-length mafia romance novel with no cheating and a guaranteed HEA.
What to know more about Sweet - Enemies to lovers - Forced proximity - Alpha male - Possessive hero - Danger brings them closer - A deal with the devil - Kidnapping - Has an HEA - Can be read as a standalone
This book was 🔥. In the first chapter itself I knew I’m going to love this book. I’ll be honest I read this book ONLY for Darren ‘Crazy’ Kelly. God, that man is unhinged!!! And I’m obsessed with him. He’s reckless, crazy and everything in between. Veronica was such an interesting and brave heroine. She was a contradiction and I loved her equation with Darren. They had combustible chemistry. The plot was done well with many beloved characters from other book showing up. Loved the writing style too.
My tiny complaint is I would’ve loved to know more about Darren’s mother and his parentage. Also more about Donal’s relationship with Darren’s mother. Can’t wait to read Lucy’s book, it already looks interesting. Safe.
-Mafia romance. -Enforcer x hacker -Morally grey, crazy and unhinged hero. -Forced proximity, found family. -KU, TW, standalone and absolutely recommended.
I received an advance review copy and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.
I love that each mafia story has such a twist and bonus the girls out the boys aside and get stuff done….. I mean they get in trouble but I love that each has their own power and do not let the men take over. A dark look into trafficking that and loved the twists!
ARC Review: Bozhe moy! Darren and Nika are such a chaotic duo! Tech Geeks X Mafia Missions never fails to entertain. He's a agent of irresponsible chaos for Mafia and she's a headstrong girl with a LARGE moral compass out here to save the world! The story has a good head start and we’re invested in the plot the moment we step into this universe. And the action packed ending like always. The epilogue was different from the other books in the series, but it worked and we loved it.
The plot development was good, but the chemistry was not up to mark I feel. Also, a throwback chapter to their past could enhance the reading experience.
Quotes:
“What the fuck were you doing with my phone back in Vegas?” I take a deep breath and stare out the windshield. “I like phones.”
Captive? Check. Possibly about to be killed? Check. Still choosing sarcasm OR silence? Absolutely.
"For the first time in my life, I’ve found a problem I can’t blast my way through."
"My whole life, I’ve destroyed things. It’s what I’m good at. What I’m meant for. But you…” His thumbs trace my cheekbones. “You make me want to build something with you. Something real. Something lasting.”
We're swooning.....
“You’re sure you can love a ticking time bomb?” “I think I’ve managed to cut the right wires, besides, I’m just as broken as you are. If you can handle me, I can handle you.””
TBH, I’d love to read Shane Gallagher’s story next. He’s such an intriguing character, and our curiosity spikes every time his name comes up.
And of course ! We need more tea on Lucy and Callum. I can already smell a good plot there.
Pretty much the book synopsis says it all. I don’t really feel any chemistry between the characters. It just felt like the plot moved so slow. The book felt like it relied on spicy scenes to make it interesting, but that got old as well. This book just didn’t grab me. I normally love a mafia book. But, the writing felt bland and plot felt stagnant.
Not for me. I didn't feel any chemistry or connection between the MCs and that hotel encounter was as soulless as the author intended. Also DNF-ing b/c I can't stand when H's call the h a bitch, no matter the reason.
Sweet Deception is book four in the Irish Kings series and is the story of Veronika and Darren. This is an enemies to lovers, forced proximity, Alpha male, deal with the devil romance.
Veronika is looking for information to help find my best friend's sister, who has been abducted. Her plan, infiltrate the wedding of not one, but two of the Irish Kings. All she needed was a member of the Kings to get information from their phone, what she did not expect was to meet one of their enforcers who commanded her in ways she never allowed.
Darren is biding his time at his cousin's wedding when he notices a waitress, although when she reappears thirty minutes later, she is dressed as a guest and walks up to him like she is meant to be there. A dance and then an amazing night later, Darren realizes his new friend is more than she seems and he will track her down and find out what kind of game she is playing.
Veronika has no idea the trouble she has placed herself in and when that trouble comes looking for her, Darren may be the only person who can keep her safe. A rival gang is looking for Veronika and Darren steals her away to a safe house to find out what she knows and why she stole the data from his phone. While hiding away, their chemistry continues to detonate and as they get closer to finding Veronika's friend, they both realize that trusting one another is harder than they thought and fighting their attraction is impossible.
This is a well written mafia story with twists and turns that allow you to see that Darren is more than just a mafia enforcer and that for the right woman, he will lay his life on the line and test his family loyalty. The spicy moments were hot and their chemistry was explosive. Let's not forget Piro/Napalm the cat, this kitty gave us an inside look at the soft side of Darren (as well as his dad). I thoroughly enjoyed this book and could not put it down.
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Veronika is a woman who, despite everything she's endured, has shown admirable strength. However, now she must be even stronger if she wants to find the person she's been searching for. Darren, on the other hand, is a man marked by the demons of his past, which torment him day after day, never imagining that life had a surprise in store for him that would completely change his destiny.
Their paths cross almost by chance. What for Veronika began as a simple mission to gather information soon transforms into something much deeper. She is afraid of what Darren awakens within her, while he fears ruining the only good and pure thing that has come into his life. The connection between the two grows little by little, turning into an intense love, though not without danger.
Just when everything seems to be going well, the threats surrounding them force them to make difficult decisions. Veronika and Darren must decide whether to fully trust each other or face their destiny alone. The story reaches an explosive point, where choices change everything. The ending definitely stayed engraved in my heart. I understood Darren's decision and the profound meaning behind it, because all he longed for was to find peace with the woman who had become his life.
Veronika's strength and the love they both dared to build left a deep impression on me. In the end, amid sacrifices, fears, and hopes, they also found happiness and the path to what they were searching for ❤️❤️❤️❤️.
PSDT: I thank the author for giving me the opportunity to read the ARC. It seems like this world is just beginning, and you know I love it 🔥🔥🔥
I have been obsessed with this entire series. I have loved each story for all different reasons. The friendships of each of the Kings and their stories captured my heart. I didn’t know what to expect from Darren, so his character surprised me in the best way. I feel that this story started so differently but grabbed my attention from the first chapter. Even the epilogue was different than expected. This was my first ARC read and I was thrilled to get my hands on this story. Thank you, Renee!!
Thoughts 💭: it was pretty boring and repetitive, definitely all talk no action, they kept saying she’s a great hacker but others found the info instead of her it was pretty dumb
Fast paced but not in a page turner good way. More in a let's hurry up and get it over with way. Everything was overly descriptive. Just a bunch of filler words that didn't need to be there. Like sometimes it's okay to just simply say "he went upstairs." We don't need a drawn out, paragraph detailing so. It's a distraction to the plot. When Shane was questioning her, we got a quick synapses of how she felt during it instead of providing a dialogue of the convo. Another missed opportunity to let us experience what's happening, but just gave us background noise instead . Another example -during the family dinner when Veronika kind of recapped her convo with Kiara instead of again, giving us a dialogue to "join in" on the conversation. Example , #3- we don't get the convo with Rory explaining the plan for infiltration , we just get a recap how of she's feeling. We didn't get to experience the book, we got told a story. In dark romance, I feel a lot of us anticipate to feel one with the characters....drag me into your world and let me experience it with you. Dark romance's are so good at that. At least in my opinion. It allows me to connect to the characters. With the lack of this in Sweet Deception, I couldn't get into it and ultimately ended up skimming the last 10%. The entire book overall just feels like a giant recap. -side note, I also feel like the whole ballerina thing was pointless. It played no significance at all. Often, books are too long and could be a 100 pages less if you exclude all the repetitiveness. Surprisingly, this needed at least 50-100 more pages as it was missing a whole lot.
WOW. Just WOW. I honestly thought nothing could top the first three books of the Irish Kings series (and I loved each of them!), but Sweet Deception completely blew me away. This is hands down my favorite in the series so far.
First off: the cover. Let’s just take a moment… The model? Absolute perfection. Smoldering, handsome, everything you’d expect for Darren. He sets the tone before even turning the first page.
Second: there’s a cat! Yes, finally a cat in a mafia romance!! Piro (or Napalm) is such an amazing little addition to the story. Watching both Darren and Veronika be gentle and protective with it melted my heart. Such a beautiful touch that showed another side of their characters.
Third: the backstory. Renee Parker doesn’t shy away from dark realities. The thread of human trafficking running through this book is haunting, painful, and all too real. It added depth, urgency, and weight to Veronika’s mission, making the romance and the stakes even more powerful.
And most importantly: the characters. Darren. Darren. DARREN. We’ve seen him before, but here he absolutely outshines everyone. Chaotic, dangerous, destructive; he lives in fire and chaos, yet underneath it all he’s broken and beautifully damaged. The last thing he expected was love, and yet… enter Veronika.
Veronika (Nika) is everything he never knew he needed: brilliant, badass, brave, and fiercely independent. She’s not just a hacker on a mission to save her friend. She’s a force who matches Darren blow for blow. Their chemistry? Explosive. Their banter? Addictive. Their intimacy? Off the charts. I loved how both carried trauma, yet instead of breaking them, it bound them together in the most intense way.
Enemies to lovers. Forced proximity. Kidnapping. Secrets. Fireworks. Sweet Deception had everything I crave in a dark mafia romance. I devoured it, page after page, unable to let go. Darren and Nica are unforgettable: My new favorite couple of the series.
Renee Parker gave us danger, passion, heartbreak, and healing and she did it in the most addictive way. This book is fire from start to finish.
In Sweet Deception, Veronika crashes the Irish Kings’ wedding to find out some information. She thinks the kings might have information on her best friend’s little sister’s ablutions. She will do anything to bring her back. She targets, Darren one of the enforcers. She decides to seduce him so she can get close and hack his phone. She wasn’t counting on really liking him and spending the night with him. As much as she liked him, she only has one mission in mind. The next morning she runs away before he has a chance to kill her. However, he’s not the only one after her and now the one person she scared of is the only person who can keep her safe. Will she tell him the truth? Will he even help her?
Darren is known as the chaos agent for the Irish Kings. His expertise is explosives. He loves to destroy things. He is loyal to the kings. He doesn’t trust anyone, but them. When he meets Veronika, he mistakes her for some gold digger and decides to have some fun with her. They have a passionate night together and he tells himself he’s gonna kick her out in the morning. Before he can do that, she’s gone. He discovers she broke into his phone and stole data off it. He doesn’t know why, but he needs to figure it out soon because no one steals from the kings. Unfortunately, she’s being pursued by one of their enemies and to find out the truth, he needs to protect her. Now they are both on the run. What will they do? Will Darren go to the Irish kings for help? Will he take matters into his own hands?
Renee Parker takes us on an emotional roller coaster. From the minute, Darren and Veronika meet there is obvious chemistry. Their first interaction is hot. I felt bad for her and what she went through. Darren made me think he always felt alone and didn’t have anyone. The circumstances that brought them together has them getting closer. I just wanted them to give into their feelings. I was on the edge of my seat most of the book. Praying they wouldn’t hurt Veronika and hoping she’d find her missing friend. This book was filled with a lot of heat, action, hilarious banter, and so much suspense. I’m so excited to find out there is another book. I cannot wait.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — I Have ZERO Clue What to Rate This but Also… Five Stars, Obviously
I genuinely don’t know what number I’m supposed to give this because WHAT DID I JUST READ??? All I know is I was clutching my mothaf$%#in pearls the entire time. Like… hands to chest, eyes wide, whispering “oh my God??” every other chapter.
I also feel like I need to repent after reading this....which is wild considering the years of religious trauma🤣😂 And yet here we are. Conflicted. Shaken. Thriving.
Let’s talk about Mr. Darren. That man is walking destruction, bad decisions, and pure mayhem, and I love him so much. Absolute menace. Zero peace. Maximum damage. Sir, please ruin my life respectfully (or disrespectfully, honestly I’m flexible).😏🤭🫣
And then there’s Nika....she is my QUEEN. Intelligent, fearless, a kickass hacker who will burn the world down if it means getting her best friend Lucy back after being kidnapped and trafficked. Her loyalty? Her brain? Her heart? Insane. She was his calm in the middle of all that chaos, and watching those two balance each other had me weak.
This book is dark, intense, emotionally charged, and absolutely unhinged in the best way. The tension is constant, the stakes are high, and the characters feel alive. Every time I thought things couldn’t escalate more… they absolutely did.
I don’t know what rating system could properly capture how this made me feel, but five stars feels right because I was stressed, invested, gasping, whisper-screaming, and fully incapable of putting it down.
Read this if you like chaos, morally questionable men, ride-or-die women, and stories that make you question your sanity while enjoying every second of it.
ARC REVIEW The Irish Kings series has been a wild ride, and book four was one of the most emotional ones yet. While it’s a stand-alone, I’d recommend reading the first three books if you want the full impact of Darren’s journey. Also, check trigger warnings before starting.
Darren has always been a side character, lurking in the shadows of the Kings’ world. In this book, we finally step into his head. He carries deep guilt over a past explosion, struggles with feeling unloved, and questions his place in the mafia life. His pain feels raw, and that made me root for him even harder.
Then comes Veronika. She’s an IT expert and hacker on a dangerous mission to find her friend’s abducted sister. The book opens with her crashing Finn and Cian’s double wedding, undercover as a waiter. Her goal is simple: hack into one of the Irish Kings’ phones. What she doesn’t plan on is Darren noticing her. Their dance turns into a one-night stand, followed by betrayal, when she disappears with stolen data.
Darren tracks her down, and instead of finding an enemy, he finds someone carrying her own wounds. What follows is a story of love, trust, and two broken souls realising they’re stronger together.
Renee Parker blends action, romance, and emotion seamlessly. Darren and Nika’s connection felt so real, and by the end, I believed they were soulmates.
Tropes include mafia enforcer, hacker FMC, one-night stand, forced proximity, found family, and enemies-to-lovers.
I’d been looking forward to reading this book, and it did not disappoint. Sweet Deception is intense, addictive, and has that perfect mix of romance and danger that keeps you hooked from the very first page.
The story follows Veronika, who sneaks into a mafia wedding with a risky mission: hacking a phone. That’s where she crosses paths with Darren, and from that very first encounter their chemistry is off the charts. What starts as a quick plan turns into a chase full of tension, secrets, and forbidden attraction.
I loved how Renee Parker built the dynamic between them. Veronika is strong, smart, and refuses to be intimidated, while Darren is dark, possessive, and protective at the same time. Their scenes together are an emotional explosion: the perfect mix of mistrust, desire, and that feeling that things could blow up at any second.
One of the things I enjoyed the most was the pacing. There are no boring parts—between the action, the romantic tension, and the plot twists, I just couldn’t put it down. And even though it’s part of the Irish Kings series, it works perfectly as a standalone.
Of course, it’s a dark romance, with that mafia edge that not everyone enjoys, but I was completely hooked. The ending left me satisfied and smiling, because after so much intensity, I needed to see them get their happy ending.
In short, Sweet Deception is one of those books that makes you sigh and hold your breath at the same time. If you love enemies-to-lovers stories with tons of tension and explosive chemistry, this one is definitely worth reading.
Sweet Deception is my first book from this author but definitely won't be my last. I absolutely loved this story. It was so well-written and suspenseful. It can be read as a standalone.
Veronika decides to crash a wedding to get vital information that she needs on her missing friend's sister. Her plan is to hack the phone of one of the mafia men. She chooses Darren who is the enforcer. She tries to get her phone to sync with his but she is unsuccessful. Darren is very attracted to Veronika and suggests they go back to his room to spend time together. Veronika is very attracted to him as well. As they spend more time together she feels more alive and is afraid of her feelings. After all she is supposed to be on a mission. Veronika gets what she needs and leaves. Darren is disappointed since he is having feelings for her.
Veronika and Darren meet again and there are so many things going on around them. They have to decide to work together or work alone.
I loved how Veronika was so driven by her passion for her friends. She was a strong person who had been through a lot. I loved how Darren was overcoming his past. Their chemistry was so good. Highly recommended and I look forward to more from this talented author.
Reasons you will love this story. * Possessive and alpha male * Enemies to lovers
Thank you to the author for an advanced copy for an honest review.
I loved, loved Sweet Deception so much 😍 Story-wise, I’d probably place it second in the series—plot-wise it wasn’t super deep, but it was such an enjoyable, fun, quick read that had me grinning the whole time 💫
Veronika Kotova is one hell of a badass woman 🔥 Like seriously—crashing a double wedding of the Irish Kings? Not an easy feat 😉 But when you learn why she did it—to save her best friend’s sister, Lucy—it makes you respect her even more. She’d risk anything for the people she loves.
Now, Darren. Oh. My. God. 😭 That man. He’s officially my favorite among the best friends. He might be the family’s chaos agent but underneath that, he’s such a caring, loving, and protective guy. What got me most was how deeply he loved Nika—enough to protect her and even step away from the family for her 🥹 That was everything!!!
Their chemistry was absolute fire. From the start, they just fit. The soft moments, the teasing, the way they looked out for each other—ugh, adorable doesn’t even cover it 😭
Also, can we talk about Finn? 😂 The future boss of the Irish Kings is probably the funniest man alive. His humor had me wheezing. I loved how the family eventually came around to Darren and Nika’s relationship too—it felt so warm and full-circle ❤️
Can’t wait for Lucy’s story. And Callum Kavanagh... Who’s this mysterious mannn!!? 😙

Wow. Just… WOW. From the very first chapter, I was completely invested in this book. Nika (Veronika) is a badasss FMC. She's smart, fierce, and driven by loyalty to her friends and Darren is dangerously magnetic, a chaotic mix of heat, guilt, and pure adrenaline. The chemistry? Sweaty, messy, explosive, and absolutely uncontainable🔥. Every scene they share is a cocktail of lust, desire, and forbidden temptation. I was simultaneously swooning and dying for them to give in.
The story perfectly blends suspense, your typical mafia danger, and romance. Nika's mission starts as a calculated plan but quickly turns into something far hotter and more dangerous than she expected. Darren’s past makes him equally unpredictable and irresistible, and watching him fall for Nika while wrestling with his inner demons was addictive. The tension builds beautifully, the action kept me reading, and the steamy moments…oh boy. Let’s just say I had to fan myself multiple times. Bonus points for cameos from previous series characters, and the adorable chaos of Darren and Nika's kitten was just so darn cute.
Nika and Darren's love is hot, messy, and unforgettable and this is easily my new favorite in the Irish Kings series. Five stars for this one. ❤️🔥💦
Thank you to Renee Parker for the copy of this book 😀
Veronika is on a mission to get Lucy back, she was kidnapped along with other women, but first she has to get information and that is where Darren comes in.Veronika is in a waitstaff uniform and she changed into a gown to fine her mark ,Darren which she does but they end up together for the night but after he goes to sleep, she manages to get his phone and clone it.Ofcourse the next morning she is missing from his bed and it is also brought to his attention that Veronika knows some information that was on his phone,he goes after her and he stalks her apartment he notices a sleazy guy hanging around out side. When she does come home finally Darren breaks in and kidnaps her and her cat Pio and takes them to a safe house to get information from her but her lips are zip tight. After days she tell him bites to get him to trust her, they make a good team. They both have trust issues and rather be by themselves. His walls start to crumble a little, chatter is coming in and it looks like what information Nika gave Darren was true,so now his uncle calls him in and he must leave Nika and Pio behind and she is hurt. This story doesn't lack for action, it has tons of fire power, trust issues and love and a very good ending! Very Enjoyable!
Determined Nika. Period. She’s focused and no matter the circumstances she always circles back to her main focus. It’s like her super power.
She’s tech savvy, driven, capable in most all aspects, and yet delicate enough to love ballet and kittens. Pirouette/napalm the kitten is a star in this movie that is book.
The action was excellent but you’d expect that with our adrenaline seeking MMC Darren. The fast and fearless character goes above and beyond action with explosives and precision shooting. His gadgets during missions prove he’s prepared for every outcome. Except when he has feelings. That confuses him royally.
These two together repeatedly remind themselves “wait I need to be scared or I need to be in charge” but really these two are mush for each other. The resistance is futile when they are near each other.
The spice is delicious and the spiciest of the series. With the main intimacy being at the beginning/middle. It’s a little backwards because the “trust” aspect of “oh no I shouldn’t love them” happens and you’re screaming at the book you’re a dummy you DO love them.
✨Sweet Deception is a fast-paced, steamy mafia romance that hooked me right from the start. I would say this book is my favorite in the entire series.🫶🏽Veronika’s determination to save her best friend’s sister gave her a strong, fearless edge, and I loved how she wasn’t afraid to put herself in the line of fire🥹. Darren was the perfect dark match for her: intense, broody, and deadly but impossible to resist.🫠
💕Together, their chemistry was explosive, and every scene between them dripped with tension and heat.❤️🔥 The forced proximity in the safehouse was one of my favorite parts, because it let their push-pull dynamic shine.🤭Darren’s inner conflict—torn between being the Kings’ chaos agent and wanting to protect Veronika—added depth to his character, and Veronika’s mix of vulnerability and strength made her an excellent match for him.🤌🏽
⭐️Overall, the romance was addictive, the action kept me turning pages, and the heat level was through the roof. If you love mafia romances with strong FMC, dangerous antiheroes, and a lot of steam, Sweet Deception is a must-read.🙌🏽
Thank you to the Author Renee Parker for the opportunity to read this ARC!🖤
Sweet Deception is an enemies-to-lovers mafia romance that completely had me hooked. Veronika is determined, resourceful, and fearless as she infiltrates a wedding to gather intel on her best friend’s missing sister—only to cross paths with Darren, a dangerously commanding enforcer of the Irish Kings. Sparks fly instantly, but their growing trust is tested by danger, rival gangs, and secrets neither of them can ignore.
Darren is a perfect mix of alpha intensity and hidden softness, especially in the moments where his loyalty and protective instincts shine. The chemistry between him and Veronika is off-the-charts, with sizzling romantic tension and heart-stopping moments. The twists, intrigue, and mafia politics kept me glued to the pages, while small touches—like Piro/Napalm the cat—added depth and a glimpse of Darren’s softer side.
Overall, this book is fast-paced, thrilling, and unapologetically steamy. If you love mafia romance with enemies-to-lovers tension, high stakes, and unforgettable chemistry, Sweet Deception is an absolute must-read.
Sweet Deception will pull you into a whirlwind of danger, lust, and loyalty. The chemistry is explosive, the stakes are sky-high, and the emotions cut deep. You’ll feel breathless, addicted, and aching for more.
Veronika aka Nika is clinging to the last people she considers family, and she’ll do anything to protect them… even if it means bedding the enemy. Living in the shadows, she’s learned how to move between worlds, making the impossible happen for those who need her most.
Darren is the chaos agent for one of the city’s most ruthless crime families. Hardened by violence, he’s convinced himself he’s unworthy of love, burying every trace of his humanity.
But when determined Nika crosses paths with Darren, sparks ignite that neither can deny. What begins as a mission spirals into a dangerous entanglement, pulling them deep into the city’s underworld and into a love that could save them both… or destroy them.
ARC review, thx Renee Parker. This is the fourth book in the Irish Kings series. Nika, an IT expert and hacker, meets Darren, the Kings' "pyromaniac." Darren remained in the background in the first three books, but now the reader gets to know and love his inner self. Darren blames himself for the death of an innocent couple in the explosion of his fuel. It becomes increasingly clear that he feels uncomfortable in the Kings' mafia world. He feels unloved, partly because his mother disappeared many years ago. Then Darren meets Nika, a hacker who crashes Finn and Cian's double wedding to obtain data from the Kings. Her intention is to find and rescue Lucy, her friend's sister. In the book, Renee beautifully describes how Darren and Nika met, fell in love, and realized they were soulmates. The main characters develop brilliantly, and there's plenty of suspense and action. Smutty, hot scenes are the icing on the cake. Another highlight is the kitten Piro/Napalm, a sweet red furball adored by Darren and Nika. According to the epilogue, Darren is retiring from the mafia world, not entirely unexpected. Hopefully, we'll still hear something from him and Nika in the coming books. Next up is the story of Lucy and Cullum. Perhaps Renee will write Shane's story in the future...I'd like to see that happen.
Thank you to Renee Parker for allowing me to read this ARC! I am so grateful and I adore this series so much! 🖤
Back into the Irish Kings world we go and I was so damn excited for Veronika & Darren 🥹 Their connection was INSTANT and you felt the internal pull and struggle between the both of them from the moment they met.
Darren’s inner monologue was everything and I just loved seeing Veronika through his eyes. I enjoyed where the storyline was going and just loved how Veronika showed up like a bad bitch and turned Darren’s world upside down. The spice is always incredible and the mouth on these men whew.
Veronika and Darren MIGHT just be my favorite so far. I can’t wait to see where this story goes.
