It's a very good book for beginners: honest, non-dogmatic, and with enough understanding of people's various differences to be broadly useful. The author's experience in teaching and working with beginners shows clearly; the book is full of actionable, simple advice which can easily develop into a steady practice. I really appreciate the tips on tailoring the rituals and spellwork to one's limitations: little space, living in a broom closet, hypersensitivity to sensory stimuli. Great job, Ms Bell!

nonfiction coming out this month about dealing with trauma through spiritual healing, particularly for divergent practitioners. All the basics of Wicca and New Age practices, which took me back to college when I worked as a clerk in what my parents called a “head shop,” but delivered in a very sensible and accessible way.
