Tomboy Bride has a fake boyfriend trope but it's well done. Love finds us in unexpected ways, as Kendra soon finds out. What sold me on this romance was Kendra. She's a woman after my own heart. She's been a tomboy all her life yet wants to show her crush she's 100% woman. I couldn't stop reading until the very end. Highly recommend!

I've struggled with the entire Dance 'n' Luv series, but this book actually redeemed it for me. It had very little to do with the other books in the series, short of setting. I liked the differences between this book and the series, and the main characters were also more unique in their own ways. The romance between Kendra and Orlando was interesting, but Kendra was too focused on getting her dream man, that she almost missed out on the love of her life in Orlando! I really didn't like how much Kendra didn't see what was right in front of her, and how little she actually communicated with the people she supposedly loved. All things considered, a good end to a mediocre series.

A fun and frustrating story

Kendra is a talented gymnastics/dancer who has made a name for herself in her craft. Except no one in her family has ever noticed that. Her father completely ignores her only paying attention to her four brothers, and their friend Chad. Chad is now a famous NFL quarterback, and a self center womanizer. Except Kendra doesn't see him that way. She stIll has the same crush on him that she did as a thirteen year old girl. She insist a friend to set her up with a fake boyfriend in the hope to finally get Chad to notice her as a woman and not the tomboy.
Orlando has moved there to paint for an showing he is having in Manhattan the coming September; that is if he can keep away from one woman that could ruin his career. He agrees to Kendra's plan of being her fake boyfriend if she will agree to be his fake fancee for the art showing to get this woman off his back.
Now the question is will these two people see what is in front of them before it is too late? This is one book that will have you laughing, then totally frustrated with the main characters within just pages of each other. It is a wonderful journey to take reading this book. One that I totally enjoyed.

Outstanding Summer Read

I fell in love with Kendra Rocklyn, dancer and acrobat in Artistic Fantastico that had been giving Cirque du Soleil competition and Orlando Ortega, a former boxer turned painter in this romance by Alicia Street. It’s the first book I’ve read by this author, but I’ll be seeking her other books out in the future. The storyline in this book grabbed by interest immediately. Kendra is home for her brother’s wedding when she gets caught in a lie that she spun about having a boy friend to keep from embarrassing herself and show up alone to the wedding. She’s had a crush on her brothers’ friend, Chad who is now an NFL football player and manwhore. Fortunately a friend knows of Orlando, a handsome man, and how he needs a girl friend to help him deflect attention from an art patron who is sponsoring his show and who expects some sexual favors. Fortunately Kendra and Orlando team up in a fake relationship but when things heat up with Chad at the same time Kendra and Orlando are drawn to each other, you can bet their is plenty to keep the reader’s interest in this amazing 5 star gem. My only complaint was when this book ended.

This story revolves around a Latino artist/ex boxer, Orlando and show performer, Kendra. Kendra needs a fake boyfriend for her brother's wedding and Orlando needs a fake fiancée to get a cougar art investor off his back. It's a win-win situation for both of them.
Unfortunately Kendra has a long time crush on Cade, a professional football player and her brother's best friend. So she desperately tries to make him jealous but is Cade who she really wants especially with her growing closer to Orlando who is a serious contender for her affections.
This was a bit of a love triangle and Kendra was irritating as she was not a very discerning character and she kept blowing hot and cold between the two guys.
Orlando was a really likeable guy and he was very tolerant of Kendra and her schemes. Cade was a rather unpleasant, self centred guy.
The story was enjoyable even though I did want to shout at Kendra to make up her mind! It does have a lovely HEA. There is no swearing and only one sexual scene.

This is my first read from Alicia Street, but it will not be my last. Tomboy Bride centers around Kendra and her infatuation with Chad Sorensen, the best friend of her oldest brother Matthew. Matthew and Nicole are getting married and of course Chad is his best man. At one of the many gatherings, Chad’s date asks Kendra where her date is and she says he couldn’t make it, lol. Now, this is where things get interesting. Enter the gorgeous painter Orlando Ortega. Orlando agrees to be her faux beau, if she will do the same at an event he has to attend. I really enjoyed this fast read and I really hope we get stories about the other Rocklyn brothers. No spoilers, so grab your copy and settle in for a really good read.

Good news is it's a quick read.

Bad news is that doesn't make it any less painful. The author often comes across as young and immature. The main character is also very immature and her male counterpart is dull. Their connection is made more 'off-screen' than in front of the reader and ends up feeling lackluster and boring.

Tomboy Bride is about Kendra AKA in her family as Kenny. She thinks she wants her childhood crush, Chad until she makes a deal with the sexy artist, Orlando and finds what is really important in a man with a happy ending with the much better man, Orlando. Family issues being the only girl with four brothers and her determination to be a tomboy add depth and humor to the plot.

Be careful what you wish for.

I was intrigued by the summary of this book. I just tell you this story was even better than I had hoped for. You wilI fall in love with the characters at least some of them. The book is easy to read which is good thing because it is hard to put down.

Kendra Rocklyn is a dancer of a different kind with jumps and moves. Orlando Ortego is a artist are helps her get her man. The man she loved all her life and her father thinks of as a son. Kendra and Orlando get along well with each other that they fall for each other but some people have out it's fault and cause trouble. Great read😊😁!

Tomboy bride

This is a book that could possibly be true. Your parents want so much from you, but maybe not what you want for your self. Kendra wanted to be accepted by family and not as tomboy. Glad she realized Chad was such a "me me me"person.

Quick light read with complex, likeable characters (the main ones). Effective distraction when I needed one. . . . .

Tomboy Bride is by Alicia Street. It is one of the books in the boxed set Ten Brides for Ten Heroes. The books all have the same plot which is very simple-boy meets girl, have problems, make up and get married. They are good for mindless reading and they are simply fun. This is one of the better ones. I couldn’t put it down.
Kendra Rocklyn is and has been a tomboy all her life. She followed after her brothers and Matt’s friend Chad for years. She wanted Chad to see her as the girl he needed in his life. Kendra took gymnastics in school and then started dancing along with it. Now she is a major dancer in a group similar to Cirque de Soleil. They are doing a show at the nearby Cornbloom Rosendorf Arts Festival. She is hoping her parents will come as they have never seen her perform. She wants her Father to accept her and be proud of her as his daughter. Now she has to face the festivities of her oldest brother’s, Matthew, wedding. To keep from embarrassing herself again with her aunts, she tells them her boyfriend is coming to the wedding. Later that night, she tells a sewing group that consists of her friends about the lie she just told that day. What was she going to do? Serena suggested she enlist the help of her husband’s friend Orlando. In exchange, she can pose as his girlfriend to throw off a cougar who is chasing him. Will it work? Can she attract Chad?
Orlando Ortega is an artist looking for a place to paint. He has a major art exhibit at the Cornbloom Rosendorf Arts Festival and he needs paintings to display. Thanks to his friend Damien, he has found a cottage with a large barn which was converted to a studio for his painting. His only problem is a very rich and powerful lady who has a long reach in the art field, is out to have an affair with him. He doesn’t want to but hasn’t yet found a way to get out of it or lose his chance for his art. Damien’s wife, Serena, comes up with a solution. He would pretend to be Kendra’s boyfriend for the wedding activities and she could cover for him. All their problems would be solved. Right?
Will Kendra finally win her Father’s love and approval? Will her knee stand up to performing? Will her parents see her at last? Will she manage to catch Chad? What will come of her relationship with Orlando? Will anyone see through their farce? Will it work to keep his cougar off him?

Kendra comes from a wealthy prominent family where she doesn't feel that she fits in.
Growing up she tried to fit in with her brothers and out do them so she was considered a tomboy. She has a crush on one of her brother's best friends. (Chad)

Now she comes home for her brother's wedding and she tries to make Chad notice that she is no longer a tomboy. The way she tries to prove this kind of backfires on her. She has decided to bring in some "eye candy" (Orlando) to pretend that they are engaged.

Almost everyone likes him, except Kendra's dad and Chad.

Another great book by Alicia Street. I am glad that she chose me to read her book for an honest review. I think you will enjoy the book, buy your copy today.

A fun read!

I posted a note about buying this book on Facebook because I loved the cover. It is joyful and happy and made me smile. And that is as good a reason as any to give a new Author a try.

I am so glad I found Alicia Street! Tomboy Bride was everything the cover promised. A feel good book and sweet romance wrapped up in one. I like my heroines to be real, to have real lessons to learn and Kendra certainly has to figure out some truths about people and how she views them.

Orlando is a great guy...down to earth, and in great counterpoint to the guy Kendra thinks she loves. This book was fresh, fun and an all around great read!
