Spinning out of the world of the hit Minor Threats superhero series by Patton Oswalt, Jordan Blum, and Scott Hepburn comes a new collection of costumed underdogs—featuring stories by some of the leading creators in comic books.
Twilight City may be home to the Minor Threats but they're not the only down-on-their-luck super villains and heroes struggling to find their way.
Legendary creators Matt Fraction, Mike Allred, Brian Michael Bendis, Soo Lee, Gail Simone, Gene Ha, Gerry Duggan and Mark Torres explore the super-crime-infested streets of Twilight to tell twisted tales of secrets, revenge, love, murder, second chances, and crab people.
Featuring original stories and characters for Minor Threats fans new and old. If you only read one graphic novel about homunculus-faced mobsters this year, make it this one!
Collects From the World of Minor Welcome to Twilight #1–#4.
They like to lean into the silly with these books and this 4 story anthology is no different. They’re about characters in Twilight City, aping the way Astro City, Vol. 1: Life in the Big City tells tales, except focusing on the ones who are down on their luck or are just straight up losers at life, the dark side of books like Astro City.
The first 3 stories are definitely on the goofy side hiding a dark underbelly. Think Mystery Men silliness with Taxi Driver aspirations. But the third story, “The Cleaner” by Gerry Duggan and Mark Torres, would be at home in any superhero universe, and I liked it the best.

2.5 stars The farmed-out Minor Threats comics have been hit-or-miss, and this anthology is slightly more miss than hit, but it’s still got interesting moments if you’re otherwise a fan of the setting (and certainly better than the Barfly spin-off). Funny that two of the four stories here seem heavily inspired by how much of a bleak bummer the convention circuit is.
