Vibrant Ink #2

His Wild Heart

Rate this book
BRIDGER
The only family I’ve ever claimed as my own are the people I work with at Vibrant Ink, certainly not my parents who never cared about me. We’re more than a tattoo shop and a place to work. They give me a purpose and a place to call home. It’s all I need.

Meeting Avery changed everything. It was supposed to be one night, one night of fun and pleasure. I never wanted more than that with a woman and never considered forever or a family beyond Vibrant Ink. When she walks back into my life with two pink lines as proof that our night together has become much more, I don’t know what to do.

Avery gives me a purpose and teaches me how to love, even though it takes me a while to see what is right in front of me. Now I know that she’s meant to be mine and it’s just a bonus that she’s carrying my baby. Once I realize that she’s meant to be mine, nothing will stop me from giving her my heart and protecting hers with everything I am.

AVERY
My life has been predetermined for me by my parents, my father insisting that I follow in his footsteps and become a lawyer. I gave in, but then he made me work at his firm. Again, I gave in. Now he wants to marry me off to another partner’s son, and I don’t think I can give in this time.

Going out for a night of fun is the first thing I have done for me in such a long time. Meeting Bridger isn’t part of the plan, neither is spending the night with him. It’s just what I need in order to feel like I’m doing something for me while knowing it can’t be more than one night.

Seeing the two pink lines on the pregnancy test changes everything. My father says I’ve ruined everything, and suddenly I have nothing. I wasn’t planning on going to Bridger, but I don’t have a choice, and he deserves to know. The last thing I expect to do is build a family with him that mends the cracks in my heart and makes me believe in happily ever afters.

*18+. If you like alpha heroes and an insta-love story that is sweet and spicy but isn’t necessarily simple, then this is for you. No cheating with a guaranteed HEA. Each book in the Vibrant Ink series can be read as a standalone and is related to my Denver Family series (Banks Ink., Suburban Outcasts and Higgins Security). Meet Bridger and the Vibrant Ink crew in His Wild Rebel.*

Love This!

Bridger Madison is 100% swoon worthy! OMG, he is just so sweet and open. Sure, he has some major self-worth issues to work through, but that doesn't stop him from seeing the value in those around him. I just love him!

I can't remember the last time I was looking forward to anything. But this life with her? I want it, and I'm going to fight for it.
-- Bridger Madison

Their backgrounds might be night and day, but I like that Avery Page has some similar struggles, and together, they pull the best versions of each other up and out into the world. They ground each other, and their self-esteem is bolstered by a simple touch and general presence.

I love that it's low drama (and a little high heat) between them. There are stressors, but they're from outside this found family. And oh, how those stressors are dealt with. 👌 Perfectly.

I need more of this couple / world!

This is book number 2 of the Vibrant Ink series and focuses on Bridger and Avery. Bridger is a tattoo artist at Vibrant Ink and while he is a part of the family, he has kept himself at a distance due to how he grew up. When he meets Avery and they have a night that neither one of them can forget, it shakes something up in him. When Avery comes back to Bridger months later to tell him that she is pregnant with his baby, he immediately knows that he wants to be the person who takes care of his woman and his child. Bridger was the greatest dad to be ever! He loved Avery and the baby to the fullest and made sure that they were both taken care of in every way possible. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

Love coming back to the found family in Ember Davis' Denver world! Had been looking forward to more from Vibrant Ink.
I think this quote from the book describes exactly how this found family and this book make me feel...
“Yes,” there’s a promise in Amelia’s voice. “You are family, Avery. You don’t even want to know right now how big your family has become. We’re loud. We’re fun. We’re difficult at times, but we will stand next to you or behind you whenever you need it. We’ll be there when the day is long and filled with lows. We’ll celebrate every win and every high that comes your way.” Avery squeezes Amelia’s hand like she’s afraid the woman in front of her will become a beautiful mirage. “For us, family shows up and family does what needs to be done. We do it without judgement and with a lot of love. You are family.”
This is why I love these books from Ember!

In this book we get to learn more about the tattoo artists in Vibrant Ink, where Banks started before he left and started his own place, so crossover event! lol. I loved seeing him and Amelia in the book as well as a bunch of others. Bridger works for Wyatt at Vibrant Ink and after getting razzed decides to go with the others to Aces for some drinking and fun. We learn more about Travis, Monroe, Ellis, Knox, and the rest. We also get to see a very preggers Tenley and an older Ian. Bridger meets Avery there and they are very interested in each other. Things happen and after their one night, they can’t stop thinking about each other for months afterwards. Avery works at her father’s law firm, and even tho she has done everything to be a lawyer and followed in her father’s footsteps, she is treated as a paralegal. Seeing how she is treated was very upsetting and made me rant, chew on my nails and want to punch something. Things get worse after that. The only person that I liked that worked with Avery is Tasha. Avery’s father treats her like she is a possession and she is supposed to marry her father’s firm partner’s son. Ugh. Everything gets so upsetting from five months out of Avery meeting Bridger. I cried, laughed, freaked out, ranted, punched my pillow and had the AC on high. The book is also romantic, sweet, and steamy. I can’t wait to see who is up next for romance. lol.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ His Wild Heart is an emotional rollercoaster filled with passion, family drama, and the kind of heart-melting romance that keeps you glued to the pages. Bridger and Avery’s story had me hooked from the very beginning—the broody tattoo artist who doesn’t believe in family, and the heroine trapped under the weight of her father’s expectations, finding strength to choose her own path. Their chemistry is undeniable, but what really makes this book shine is the way it blends steamy romance with raw vulnerability and a dash of scandal.

Avery’s father adds the perfect dose of tension and danger, making every choice feel high-stakes, while Bridger’s loyalty and growth made me fall in love with him right alongside Avery. This isn’t just a love story—it’s about reclaiming your voice, finding home in unexpected places, and fighting for the future you deserve.

If you love protective, devoted heroes, strong heroines who find their power, and a romance layered with secrets and drama, His Wild Heart is a must-read. Ember Davis has delivered another hit in the Vibrant Ink series, and I can’t wait to dive into the next book!.

Avery and Bridger

His Wild Heart is Book 2 of the Vibrant Ink series. It's a steamy, instalust, one-night stand to more, opposites-attract, unplanned pregnancy, found family, curvy girl gets her hunk romance.  Bridger is a burly, hunky, quiet, inked tattoo artist. He has been closed off a bit emotionally due to his poor past family upbringing. Avery is a smart, sassy, and curvy attorney who works for her misogynistic father at his law firm. She is treated like cattle and told she is going to marry Eric, another jerk at the firm. When she goes out one night, she meets Bridger and they have a hot one night stand. Her parents' horrible relationship has also soured her look on love. Fast forward 5 months, she’s pregnant, and has just been fired and kicked out of the house by her father. She goes to Bridger. The two have never stopped thinking about each other and he takes her home immediately. OMG, Bridger might be my new favorite Ember character. Talk about #hotboyfriendgoals. He is so amazing and delicious, and a prime example of FAFO. The way he loved and cared for Avery was everything. Their chemistry was pure fire and the ending was so happy!!!  They are #couplegoals personified!! I can't wait for Knox's story next. I loved this one so much.

I adore Ember Davis’s writing style and I love how much I get sucked into every one of her stories. Especially if it’s connected to the Bank’s family, they were my first introduction to this author and I’ve adored them ever since. A found family that is so loyal and willing to drop everything to help or be there for each other?! Ugh I love them. I could feel the emotions and chemistry in this one once again and I loved both Avery and Bridger. The amount of heartbreak and abandonment they both had to go through with their families made their little family and love for each other just so special. The character development for Bridger was perfect, from too grumpy to opening up and letting people in and being the man he needed to be and not the man he thought he was because of childhood trauma. And Avery?! She went from meek to having a backbone, and that’s on being loved and support properly. They grew together, and they became each others support and reason for growing and I loved it. Plus Bridger went from I don’t need or want any attachments to I will crush anyone’s world who even talks to her wrong and I was sooo here for that! No cheating or OM/OW drama, not with anyone during separation (5 months), one night stand turned to lovers, dual POV, HEA and an epilogue in the future. Can’t wait for more of Vibrant Ink, and even more Cameo’s from the extended “families”.

Avery finds her family...

And nobody explains family better than Amelia "For us, family shows up and family does what needs to be done. We do it without judgement and with a lot of love. You are family" They are a unique, big and loud family, but they are the best, Bridger has attempted to keep himself on the outside of the "family". But seeing just how much Avery needs that family support as well as needing him, has him embracing everything and everyone in a way he never has, finally opening his heart. I LOVE Bridger, he doesn't hesitate to accept Avery back into his life, he has been craving her and when he refers to the baby as "His little heart" Gah! There are no words!
This is an awesome series and I love that we have the crossovers with not only the Banks Inc crew, but the whole Denver family and their overwhelming but perfect brand of love.
I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

A beautiful story filled with spice, emotion, vulnerability, acceptance, a bit of drama, found family and love. Bridger and his growly tender loving heart had me melting. His over the top feeling for Avery and her acceptance of him for who is was wonderful. Loved all the family support for these two and the humorous moments. Wonderfully written and full of heart.

Yes Ember thank you for bringing us back to Denver and back into the Vibrant Ink Series.

His Wild Heart is book 2 of the Vibrant Ink series, it's an interconnected standalone within the vibrant ink series, but has interlinking characters from across the whole Ember book verse (which I love so much!!).

In this we get Bridger and Avery what was supposed to be a one night stand, turned into a surprise pregnancy. Only Bridger doesn't know until 5 months later when Avery shows up at Vibrant Ink following a massive fall out with her father leading to the loss of her job and home.
But Bridgerton takes it all in stride, and while it's not exactly an open arm welcome (he's working on it) it's clear that one night wasn't enough and he'll do anything to protect his woman and little heart.

Ember knows how to write a brilliant story that gets into your emotions. I felt sadness, happiness (who doesn't love a happy ending), happy teary moments(there was some welling up at the emotional parts between Avery and Bridger), anger /disgust (honesty when you read it you will fully understand) and finally some hot under the collar moments (because of course there's steamy scenes).

What to expect
👣 5 Star Read
👣 Interconnected Standalone
👣 Interlinking Characters
👣 Dual POV
👣 Steamy Scenes
👣 Surprise Pregnancy
👣 Second Chance
👣 One Night Stand
👣 Family Drama (biological)
👣 Found Family (work place)
👣 Tattoo Artist /Lawyer Romance

5 stars! Absolutely loved reading this, loved being back in the Denver Tattoo scene, loved seeing glimpses of the Banks Family as a whole with the Higgins guys and SO Boys getting their shout outs too. Excellent.

4.5 stars.

I'm not sure how it happened, but I've missed reading the first book in this series (I'll soon rectify that), this did not stop me from enjoying this book though, I mean you get to spend some time with lots of different characters from the author's other series, and you get to spend time seeing Bridger and Avery connect, fall in love and be loved, supported and welcomed by the found family that is Vibrant Ink, what more could you want from a book?

I enjoyed the character development of both Avery and Bridger, it was lovely to see the effect a loving family, who made them feel safe and accepted for who they were, had on them. I may have wanted a little more vengeance with regards to certain characters reading this, but decided they didn't deserve more air time so to speak, so was good with what did happen.

I felt a connection to Bridger and Avery and believed in their connection and chemistry, I really enjoyed seeing them reconnect, trust, open themselves up to love and everything thing they never knew they wanted and needed.

Opposites with a future in their grasp

His Wild Heart is the second book in the Vibrant Ink series. The story is about Avery and Bridger, in a one night that leads to a lifetime romance. Each were brought up very differently but they find there is a real connection and a lot of hot passion when they meet one night. But in the morning she is gone and he is not able to stop thinking about her and maybe what could have been. When Avery shows up at the shop Bridger is surprised but that is not the only surprise he is about to have. These two may be opposites but they fit together in ways that are unseen, perfectly melding to each other and the future which is in their grasp if they are willing to grab for it.
This is a another wonderful book by Ember Davis. The writing is on point, the characters are nicely layered and developed, the story-line is engaging and the passion is delectable.

Their night together was suppose to be one night. As soon as he saw her, he wanted her. Her father just told her she is to marry someone else but she cannot stand up to him. The man he is suppose to marry gives her the creeps. So she goes out with her girlfriend as a spur of the moment. Neither one of them are really a one night stand type but that is all she can gives since her father wants her to marry someone for the good of the law firm. There night leads to a broken condom and her pregnant. Once her dad finds out, he kicks her out and fires her. She has no other option to find the father of her baby. She hopes he will take them in. Will her father really let her go and will they find their happily ever after?.

This it the second in the Vibrant Ink series and can be read as a standalone. Wyatt owns Vibrant Ink, Beckett Banks (Protecting His Home) worked there before opening his own shop. Bridger works for Wyatt, pretty much keeps to himself but lets himself be dragged out for a night with the crew. Bridger meets Avery and they have a great night together but she is gone in the morning. He has thought about her over the months since that night.

One day she shows up on the shop in tears, she is pregnant with his baby and has been told by her father she has 48 hours to clear out. She has done everything that was always asked her, law school working for her father but getting rid of her baby.

Bridger is very protective of his girl and baby, he knows he has to embrace the family for her.

Sweet and spicy

This was such a great story that really brought home how found family can really prop a person up. Avery and Bridger had an explosive one-nighter and neither forgot the other. Her unexpected pregnancy and falling out with her family, bring them back together. Poor Bridger also had a tough family life and never thought love and family were for him. I love how he stood up for her and welcomed her into his life, despite his hesitancy on family. He certainly was thrilled to be with her again ;P Both of these characters went through a ton of growth but it was the embrace of his support network that made this story shine. That they got more than they ever wished for was primo. I really enjoyed this one and look forward to the next book :D

Family is always the heart of Ember Davis’ stories and this couple is truly special! Bridger and Avery come from homes without love, but their connection is immediately evident from their first meeting! He’s closed off and she’s struggling to breathe until their ‘little peanut’ brings them back together. I love his commitment to Avery and her faith in him as they become more than a one night stand. The milestones they achieve are a testament to their relationship, it’s gratifying to watch them grow, and the intensity between them is incredible! It’s great to see other family members interacting and reinforcing the bond amongst all of them. Perfect!.

Bridger and Avery or two sides of half coin. One who has a family but yet kind of keeps his distance and one who doesn't have a family and she keeps trying to prove something to her parents. What was supposed to be a one night event shows that there are a lot of emotions in this book. For someone who has a family and did not encounter a good childhood speaks volumes in this book. There are a lot of emotional situations in this book that draws you in. At one point hoping for another chapter that did not come. But was rewarded with resolution of the trials and tribulations that went on through this whole book. Great read.

Oh my word! Bridger and Avery were amazing. The emotional journey both characters went through during the book was phenomenal. I felt like I was going through their journey with them. The love Bridger had for his unborn child was heartwarming. The whole "family" dynamics within Bridget's friends is what I want in my own life. This book took you on an emotional ride through Avery and Bridget's chaotic life and how they found their way to heal each other. Loved it!! Bridger hands down one of my favorite MMC .

I loved Bridger and Avery. This is the second in the Vibrant Ink series and it's a well written, wonderful almost slow burn romance where a one night stands can turn into forever. That one night stand turned into two pink lines and Bridger is over the moon when Avery tells him. This is a wonderful romance where Avery and Bridger finally find a true family with the Banks Inc. crew and all their families. This author really knows how to bring out your emotions while reading her stories and I absolutely loved this one. 10 stars!!!!.

Avery and Bridger, she works in her (creepy) father’s law firm. He is a tattoo artist. Avery’s dad informs her she will marry a fellow lawyer in the firm…he too is a creep. To have a night of rebellion she goes to a local bar and ends up having a one night fling, with Bridger! She leaves him in the morning. Months later she visits him in the tattoo parlour to give him some news. He is so excited, takes care of her and loves her to bits.
Family drama, revenge, friendships and so much emotion, spice and caring makes for a wonderful romance with a HEA epilogue.

Damn that was good!!!😍😍😍
From Avery and Bridger’s first steamy and explosive encounter (holy moly that man can dirty talk🥵🔥🥵🔥😍🥰) to Avery finding her strength and walking away from her abusive family, to Bridger’s total acceptance and all-in reaction when Avery shows up at the tattoo parlor 5 months pregnant and needing help, to the found family that circles and supports them both…this book is awesome!!!!!! Their relationship is perfect IMO, the honesty, the passion, and of course that Bridger completely worships her🥰🤗. I loved it all!!!!.

MMC/FMC- Bridger and Avery
Genre- Contemporary Romance
Heat- open door, explicit
Series? Y

Tropes- One Night Stand, Surprise Pregnancy, Tattoo You, Forced Proximity, Found Family, Dysfunctional Family FTW, Arranged Marriage (Avoided).
What I liked- I loved it when they told her parents to go somewhere extremely warm and uncomfortable. I also liked how involved he was with the pregnancy. It was really lovely to read about. But the most important part of the book is the theme of Found Family, with the people who all care about each other and have created a support system.

Bridger and Avery spend one unforgettable, steamy night together that turns into a special little surprise, changing both their lives for the better. She was supposed to marry a man her controlling father chose, but ended up meeting and falling for Bridger. Bridger is a tattoo artist at Vibrant Ink, and meeting Avery, he finally gets the family he's always wanted. The writing is well done, the characters are well developed, and they had me cheering them on to get their happily ever after. His Wild Heart is book two in Vibrant Ink. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Firstly, this is an amazing love story. Bridger and Avery are amazing together and the way in which they overcome their pasts (and her present) are wonderfully portrayed. That being said, I hate her parents. I get that I'm supposed to, but her dad is a horrible person and hard to read at times. It's worth it, because you get to see Bridger deal out some karma and it's glorious. These two deserve their HEA and I love the cameo by Amelia and Beckett (IYKYK), who are my all time #1 favorite book couple!.

Amazing book. Avery is a strong FMC who is searching for acceptance and love. Bridger avoided love of any kind due to past circumstances. I really loved how they communicated and understood each other . There were hot steamy scenes . I really enjoyed how Avery grew and finally stood up for herself and how Bridger had her back no matter what. Watching Avery & Bridger accept their new family was amazing to see. I can’t wait for Knox book next.

Bridger and Avery are drawn to each other the moment they see each other and even though they started as a one night stand neither could forget the other. When Avery shows up to tell Bridger about the baby he is shocked, but all in right away. Her family was so cruel and she gained a whole family when she moved in with Bridger which was a dream come true for her on top of falling in love with him. Great book, quick to read too!.

This touching story had me connecting with Bridger and Avery. They both grew up in dysfunctional homes and as a result guarded their hearts. When her father told her of her upcoming marriage she goes out with her friend and makes a connection with Bridger that leads to an intimate one-night stand that has repercussions. The blowback from her family sets the stage for her and Bridger. Will their connection lead them to the happiness they deserve.

Give me a grumpy, over the top posessive tattoo artist any day... turn him into a swoon worthy baby daddy... Bridger just about made the ovaries kickstart 🤣🫠.
I really enjoyed Bridger and Avery's story. Their romance was sweet and spicy, but I think the overall winner of this book is the found family that exists. My heart melted repeatedly while watching these people have each other's backs and be a steadfast support system 🥰. Loved this book and can't wait for more.

I was a little worried when I saw how long the book was. But i went so fast. Bridger and Avery are one of my favorite couples. The way that he is there for her from the get go just shows how well "trained" the men in Denver are. They are supportive and loving. And that is exactly what Avery needs when her family turns their back on her.
Amelia has her usual cameo, and the Denver family steps up.

Bridger and Avery. The connection between the two of them is out of this world and instant. You know that with a one night stand it's never going to be enough and then when the surprise happens I love the way that Bridger reacts. That makes all the things that Avery's father does just burn away. They are what matters and with the found family it's what turns in to a beautiful HEA.
