How to Be A Fearless Badass

Rate this book
"Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less."--Marie Curie (scientific badass)

You know it, I know it, everyone knows it... Fear is your constant companion and life-long enemy. It strips your days of meaning, it robs you of opportunities, and undermines your confidence, as it imagines a future you wouldn't want to step in. Let's be real about it: It's also a necessary evil that keeps your ass on this side of the grass. So, the question is: How do you manage Fear?

Well, that's no easy task. No lie, it is a daily struggle. American writer, Zaron Burnett III, may not be a former-MMA champion or a millionaire life-coach who's here to teach you how to overcome your fears -- no, he's something else entirely: He's honest. In this collection of essays, he offers you his casual and candid, humorously skewed view of the world, one that's guaranteed to make you laugh, as he hands you new tools and gives you the understanding you need to live like a fearless badass.

With chapters like:

How To Make Strangers Want To See You Naked
How To Have Sex So They Never Forget You
How To Love Like You'll Never Get Hurt
How To Drive Like A Stuntdrivin' Badass
How To Make Your Boss Look You In The Eye

This is a frank, modern, funny-cause-it's-true sort of guidebook that shows you how to live like there ain't no tomorrow and ensures you make it there anyway.

Whether you're a guy or a gal, maybe it's time you learn to live like a fearless badass.

This book was not great. If you look at my various updates you will see that it was not great. But in the end I value these book if even one piece of advice rings true for me. And this book pulled out a few good ones.
1.) you never see the feet of a ballerina. Meaning you see the outcome but not the effort. I have always given up on myself when my effort didn't look like someone else's outcome. I've heard this advice many times in different ways but this time it really hit me where I needed to feel it.
2.) Be Your Own Hero. Sometimes your heroes let you down or they cheat or they turn out to be bad for one thing or another. When this happens it is easy to get disillusioned. But if you can celebrate those things which make you a hero for yourself and for the people around you then you take the mantle back. Aparently there used to be a be your own hero week with hashtags and everything, but I just checked and I don't see it in a quick Google search so I guess it isn't happening anymore.
3.) Fear is the opposite of love.

So take this book with a large handful of salt if you do decide to read it. But know that there are some gems hidden in its pages.

Good, aimed towards a male audience, bordered on vulgar sometimes. I don’t appreciate crude slang for women’s genitalia. Some very practical advice but definitely excessive details that don’t seem to have anything to do with being fearless or necessarily a badass.

I wasn't the intended reader for this book but a friend gave it to me for one particular chapter. The whole book was fun and funny, with a great voice that didn't speak down to the reader.

This did not turn out to be what I thought it would be. A little disappointed to be honest.
