Omg this book is the perfect short read when you’re in the mood for a little me-time, with a glass of red wine in your hand, surrounded by candlelight. It took me 1-2 hours to finish it. ❤️🔥
I always find it difficult to rate short novellas, because there isn’t much room for an in-depth plot. But this was my very first book by Lana Lain and honestly, it was the perfect introduction! I felt the desire and tension between the characters SO intensely. I absolutely love how her writing style makes you experience every emotion.
At the end, I was genuinely sad the story was already over. It felt like an amazing teaser that leaves you craving more. I’d love to see this exact writing style in a longer novel with a more developed storyline, because the potential is definitely there.😍
For now, I rated it 3⭐️, but I’m absolutely looking forward to reading more from this author!

Selena has a history with Nikolai. In the prologue, we read how that relationship ended, but they never truly let go of each other. When Selena meets Logan on a cruise, sparks fly immediately. He reminds her of Nikolai in a way. The fact that this same Nikolai is also on the cruise doesn't help matters. Both men want to make her their own, but Selena refuses to be possessed.
Because the book begins with the end of the relationship, it feels like you're in the middle of a story. This makes the book a breeze to read (for example, Marjo read it in about 50 minutes). Lana's pleasant writing style certainly contributed to this. It's a piece of a larger whole. This makes us wonder: what happened before, and perhaps even more importantly: what happens after?

What I loved most is that Selena ultimately makes her choice for herself — not out of fear or pressure, but from a place of strength and self-awareness. The balance between the tension, emotion, and spice was just right for a novella.

A dark romance that pulls you in from the very start and you don’t want to put down. Where you can feel the tension, chemistry and raw emotions through the pages.
The only thing I didn’t like about this book was that there wasn’t more of it!!! I hope we get to see what happens next because I can’t get enough of Selena, Nikolai and Logan!

Loved the push/pull between Selena and Nikolai. Logan comes in with sweetness at first but that Alpha energy come out quick. Can't wait too see what Lana comes out with next.

One day, Selena embarks on a cruise ship to get away from it all and leave her problems behind. But her ex, Nicolai, works on the ship, which she hadn't expected. Logan also works on the ship, and she immediately feels the attraction between them. However, the spark between her and Nicolai hasn't completely died down. Selena is a tough girl who doesn't just do what you want, and that's a perfect challenge for the men. The story is short and practically begs for more; you want to read more about these three people. It's a delightful "why choose" that doesn't disappoint. I finished this book in one evening; it's a quick read.

On a cruise, Selena runs into her ex Nicolai, whom she thought she had distanced herself from. And then there's Logan. Logan seems to be the opposite of Nicolai. Both men go to extremes to possess Selena. Or is it Selena who is pulling the strings?
It is a relatively thin book with 142 pages divided into 27 short chapters.
The smoothly written book alternates between Nicolai and Selena's perspectives.
The story is spicy and sometimes a bit dark. I missed the depth in the story and therefore give it 3 stars. However, the story is well written. If you are looking for a story that is mainly about spice, I would definitely recommend this book.

It’a about Selena who has an dominate relationship with Nikolai, this ends in tears. After years not seeing each other, they (without knowing it) go on the same cruise. There Selena meets Logan, at first he looks all sweet but he’s just like Nikolai.
I can’t explain it but this time I didn’t feel the book.
Maybe I’ve read to much of these kind of books.
I did finish the book and it was ok but I didn’t love the book.
