A new designer drug has hit the streets of Seattle. More deadly and more potent than even Carter, a lifetime drug user, has ever seen.

With the power to summon fire from within his own body, Carter hits the streets. Knocking down doors and punching out teeth with a fiery fist, he will stop at nothing to work his way to the top of the elusive drug ring, but this time he's not alone. As part of his sobriety, Carter must work the steps, and it's time for his biggest challenge yet, becoming a sponsor to a young User named Barber.

But will Carter live up to the challenge or will he fail to keep the young man in check? And will he stop the threat the new drug poses to the entire city? Find out in the second issue of Users.

The second book in the users series is really a great read.
Carter has developed more and you learn a lot more about Barber.
As Carter finally gets a real job is making good money and has a nice apartment and finally has his life together he wants to become a sponsor. he thinks no one wants him but Barber insists. of course no one thinks this is a good idea . Carter takes him in thinking he can do this but with his day job and his nightly action cities of crime fighting using his unique abilities it becomes hard then he thought. all Barber wants to do is play video games. and I'd course he's a teenager.
Then he gets the kind of Carter should be a better rule model attitude since he now lives with him not on the compound and insists on going on these nightly missions. Carter takes him and quickly learns it's a mistake.
is Barber using again? this new drug to hit the streets that's making people crazy aggressive? He's showing signs.
so things become very messy and And Carter has to go back to the camp for help knowing he's messed up yet again. Will it work out ?
I guess you have to read it to find out.
it's a very good book, adventure, the cool powers of course draw you in. I kinda feel bad for Carter who I think us only doing his best. I can totally relate to him and how he feels so this story really draws me in and takes me on thriller coaster ride if a lifetime.
a must read but be sure to read book 1. Users or you might be a bit lost.

I was given a copy from the author for a honest review.
honestly read this it's the second best book I think the Bucks gave written to date. , Users #1 being the first. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series.

Someone close to me fell off the wagon this past weekend. So, I have a little personal history and extreme dislike for drugs and druggies and addicts, although not from a first person perspective, as the author himself has stated he has. This, I'm sure, has colored my perception of the story, and its main character, Carter, a recovering drug addict and Scorcher, a superhero with fire powers.

Carter is an idiot and an ass. He's quick to anger, quick to judge, and ignores an addicted teenaged kid whom he's supposed to mentor. Argh. Carter needs a beat down. (Can you tell I'm a little biased here?)

I've read these authors' works before, and I am impressed with the development that they have made so far with their writing. Although there are still a few editorial glitches in word choice and punctuation, the writing itself is much smoother than their earlier works. In addition, the book seems to be divided into two parts, separated by the death of Walt, the leader of the Compound. In the first part, Carter is focused on stamping out a new street drug named Pow. In the second part, Carter becomes embroiled with two new characters, the Fabio-like Stryker and his evil, nefarious father Jake. The connection between these two parts was a little jarring to me, although I could see it working as two different comic books in the same series - same characters, different story line. It would have worked much better for me if there was some blending of the plotlines between these two stories.

All in all, a good read. Users 2 can be read as a stand alone, and anyone interested in a good yarn, enjoys indie authors, or superhero tales, should pick up this book. Well done.

Great follow up to the first book. Again the insertion of drug addiction to the superhero genre gives the book it's own original thrill. I would have loved to read about how Barber dealt with staying off Pow though.

You REALLY need proofreaders.

You still use "pours" instead of "pores" , and you don't know how to use apostrophes. I will not be reading more from these authors. The bad grammar and lack of proofreading outweigh the mediocre story.
