Jake Peterson was living a boring and broken life. Well that was until one night during his drive home he sees a dark figure in the distance. Next thing he knows, he is laying in a hospital bed with a concussion and a strange cut on his arm. He goes through some changes and researches to find that he is turning into a werewolf. During his first night after his transformation, a woman by the name of Barbara Holmes spots him in her cottage in the woods. From then on, she watches and then confronts Jake by sending him a note through his door. They eventually start dating, but one day they’re stalked by a strange man. Sensing something wrong, Jake grabs Barbara and runs. Jake eventually gives in and finds he’s also a werewolf and bodyguard sent by the leader of his pack, Katarina. They fly to New York and in a mansion just outside of the city Katarina is waiting to welcome them with open-arms. The pack that she runs has a few secrets. She chooses only the best to join her inner circle and sends them out to fight rouge werewolves and vampires that threaten humans. Katarina sympathizes with humans and she does not want to see any harm befall them. Now Jake and Barbara have been chosen and their first mission will be one of their toughest. They had better hope the little bit of training they do get will keep them alive.

I began my writing back in 2007. Back then, I had started with fanfiction. Though, in that same year, I had stopped shortly after the first chapter. It wasn't until 2012 that I picked it back up. If I had let it go, I would not have found my love of writing. Now I want to explore new genres and write stories that readers will love.

Chains (The Peterson Chronicles Book 1) by Blake Seeger is a book in need of some editing but don't let it deter you from reading this interesting story about werewolves and humans. Jake is a werewolf and his financee is human. They join a community to help protect humans.

I rate this work four stars.
