One out of eight women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer. One out of 3 women will experience some form of cancer in their life time.
I was one of those statistics even though I was living a healthy lifestyle that consisted of organic foods, regular exercise, massage, Chiropractic care and colonics. How could somebody like me develop Breast Cancer?
That very question led to thousands of hours of research, study, soul-searching and prayer. It all came together as The 7 Essentials – 7 basic steps that are necessary for preventing and healing cancer, or any dis-ease for that matter.
Chapter 1 – Why Do I Have Breast Cancer?
Scientists have come to the conclusion that cancer is a preventable dis-ease that requires major lifestyle changes. Discover how to avoid the 7 Cancer Triggers that could possibly create cancer in your body.
Chapter 2 – Essential # 1 – Let Food Be Your Medicine
Stop feeding the cancer by avoiding the foods that “feed” the cancer. Increasing your consumption of specific vegetables, oils and low glycemic fruits can reduce your Breast Cancer risk by 60-70%. Find out which foods lead to inflammation and dis-ease while others turn on protective, anti-cancer genes.
Experiment with a sample 7 day anti-cancer meal plan.
Is it possible to escape the effects of the thousands of chemicals that you may be exposed to every day? There are clearly environmental links to Breast Cancer but there are specific steps that you can take to reduce your toxic exposure. Learn how to make conscious choices about the products you keep in your home, the cosmetics you apply and the internal toxins that are affecting your body.
Chapter 4 – Essential # 3 – Balance Your Energy
Our body is 1 billionth physical matter and the rest is all energy. Our body runs on an energetic and electrical system that can be measured with instrumentation. There are specific healing arts and therapeutic tools that can help bring the body to balance, ultimately strengthening and boosting the Immune System. Proper hormone balance and revitalizing sleep can activate cancer-protective genes and boost the Immune System.
In order to truly heal your body, you must heal your emotional wounds. Do you have the “Cancer Personality”? If so, your responses to stress and how you cope with it are often learned behaviors. You can change those learned behaviors and the bio-chemistry of your body with your attitude and your thought patterns. Strengthen your “happiness muscle” with 8 specific steps.
Metals in your teeth have the potential to increase estrogen signaling in the breast tissue. These metallo-estrogens have been found in Breast Cancer tissue biopsies. Toxicities from root canals have been associated with most cancers. Learn how to take steps to detox these poisonous materials that may be compromising your Immune System and Meridian System.
Chapter 7 – Essential # 6 – Repair Your Body with Therapeutic Plants
The United States National Library of Medicine has a data base of hundreds of thousands of citations and abstracts of bio-medical literature and journals giving evidence of the benefits of Natural Medicine.
I'm not sure I was quite ready for this book. Having been recently diagnosed with breast cancer myself I had decided to fight it not only medically but naturally as well (eating certain things, staying away from others etc...). I couldn't get far enough in the book to learn more about the natural healing because I just couldn't stand listening to her tell me all the reasons that I have breast cancer in the first place. Yes, I know they put poison in our food and that cell phones emit cancer-causing elements, but right now I need positivity and solutions. In my honest opinion, this book isn't for the recently diagnosed. Maybe people highly susceptible to cancer who want to learn more about preventing it or people in remission wanting to know why they might have gotten it and how to keep it from happening again. I moved over to Bald Is Better with Earrings: A Survivor's Guide to Getting Through Breast Cancer and it is much more positive and reaffirming. Even a little funny too :)
Great insights to changing your lifestyle for good!
For those who have/had breast cancer it is an invaluable book to read. There are definitely things that you can adapt in your day to day life which I found useful. Some people may not agree to follow all of the things discussed in the book but there is wealth of information that can help everyone even if you follow some of the things and gradually step into a better life. This book also helped me discover other books to make better choices about my life. I highly recommend to anyone who had or have breast cancer. Many thanks to Dr V for all the information and knowledge that she has shared with her readers and followers.
I took a lot of notes! Very interesting book. I learned I was already sick and then I developed cancer. . . It was so true. I need to discover balance and restore my health and I now understand healing is a journey. I start meditation next week before my surgery and I honestly feel I'm in a better place after reading the book. I will be making a few life changes like eating better and more organic and less stress which I've been working on since moving to a remote Island in Maine!
I hope no woman takes this advice seriously. The doctor gives bad and potentially dangerous advice. She states that the right foods and a few herbs can prevent and cure breast cancer. She thinks she knows better than oncologists who have studied cancer for years. My advice to all women ... PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HER SERIOUSLY.
For anyone who unfortunately has just been diagnosed with cancer, this is good first book! I knew a lot of the information; I also learned a lot, which just reminded me to stay focused on a positive life style. My heart goes out to all of you who are battling cancer. Stay positive.......
Very very helpful to heal naturally. If you dont read this book still look up photodynamic therapy, hyperthermia and salicinium for getting rid of cancer
Essential Book to Educate Yourself and your Family and Friends About Taking a Proactive Stand Against Cancer!
There's about as many types of treatments or preventative actions to take against cancer as there are types of cancer. It's kind of mind boggling, and most likely quite expensive to take up a regime to fight cancer, but being forewarned is the best way to try to prevent cancer before you're diagnosed with an active cancer, and then fighting to rein it under control. I've lost so many family members to this disease, including my Mom, and my Grandma from breast cancer, a Grandfather to inoperable lung cancer, and an Aunt to brain cancer. And my husband has been fighting Multiple Myeoloma for over fifteen years, and many people on his side of the family have also lost their battle with various cancers.
I found the book full of possibilities for treatments, but it doesn't answer all of my questions about cancer and the treatments. I wish Dr. V. was one of our cancer doctors. Every day I feel like I need more help, I'm so overwhelmed. The fear is paralyzing and debilitating, and it's impossible to distance myself or our child from our circumstances. It's up to us three to care for one another. I'm lost, and everyday eats away at a little more of our peace of mind and our family's unity.
Maybe your next book could include therapy, family, or cancer treatment counseling, along with sources for financial help. We've been waiting over a year for the finances for several surgeries for my husband that his medical coverage won't t cover, and also for dental work for him. Our medical and dental needs are also on hold until we can get his issues resolved.
The biggest obstacle that you neglected to mention is the longer cancer can be survived, the more emotional (and possibly physical) distance you find that you have with your family and friends. They tend not to lend as much emotional, physical,or financial support the longer that you survive. It's too difficult for them to face the ongoing problems of day to day living with debilitating disease that never ever goes away into remission except for a few days, weeks, or months. It's too emotionally and physically draining for them to carry that burden with them everyday. It's easier for them to avoid us, and pretend that there aren't any problems that might concern them. After all, this has been ongoing with one issue after another forever, how bad could it be? So it falls on our child and us to muddle through the best we can. Each day that we have together is a blessing.
As a recent bteast cancer diagnosed and surgery patient, I was lead to find Dr Vs book. I had been on a natural way of eating eliminating everything I could bad for health. However, I kept allowing myself to live in TOXIC stress. Not anymore. Thank you for getting me back on track and opening my eyes to removing everyone else's problems. I look forward to a more informed way of healing.
3 weeks ago my doctor asked me to come to her office for the results of a breast biopsy. I knew that was a bad sign, but the look on her face said it all . All I heard was invasive and carcinoma. I left there with the biopsy report in one hand and a referral to the oncologist in the other. The oncologist wouldn't even let me make an appointment until all of the biopsy reports were in which takes at least 2-3 weeks. Not one to sit around, I started digging for information even though my doctor had said, "Now don't go all Web MD on me.
I was shocked at the number of books on cancer and natural healing. I was looking for specific information that I could use fast. It was the purple cover that caught my eye( if you could see my hair, you would understand). This book has it all! The basic information to understand your situation, steps you can take to help yourself and HOPE FOR TOMORROW!
I learned a lot from reading this book. I also liked the style in which it is written. It has a lot of very useful information and references. I've been recommending to everyone I thought would benefit from reading it, including the three naturopathic doctors I'm seeing. Thank you for writing this book!
