The Dream

Rate this book
Haunted by memories of places she’s never even seen… When Ollie finds herself alone in New Zealand after breaking up with her boyfriend, strange things begin to happen. A vivid and troubling dream she thought she’d left behind in her teens begins to plague her again, and the oddly vulnerable but persistent Mark keeps on turning up wherever she happens to be. As the past increasingly haunts her present, she begins to wonder if the psychic gift that she’s always tried to ignore has anything to do with what’s happening to her. This book was previously published by Snowbooks and contains a few small alterations from the previous version.

Well, let's start off with saying that I really raced through it. It's an easy read and I finished it in just two days. It was an enjoyable enough, with enough excitement to keep me reading. In the beginning it was a bit vague and I wasn't sure where the story was going to go, pretty much like the main character in the story. After that, the mysteries picked up and there was always something new happening. Some things, like the magic, are not explained, and you just have to accept it for what it is, but sometimes the events felt a bit too coincidental. The twist at the end felt like unneccesary drama to me, and the romance didn't really grip me; it felt a bit too much like the other characters were telling each other there should be romance, instead of the people actually falling in love. Still, that's all the negative, there's enough positive stuff around: like I said, it's easy to read, it has an interesting premise, and it covers a little-known disease and its terrible consequences. All in all, an enjoyable book, thus three stars.

This story was amazing, it was so full of suspense. She goes to new zeland with her partner because she feels a draw to it, ends up leaving the partner and heading off on her own. She meets mark randomnly and he helps her and from there he seems to appear when she needs him. All the while she is trying to deal with a recurrent nightmare she had when her dad passed away. So much suspense, i really didnt know where it was going but to find out her dad had fathered a child he thought had died to then find out it was mark as well as the amazing gift he had. Then the beautful ending of mark getting to meet his daughter and then ollie and ewan and their baby ! One of the best books ive ever read, it was fantastic, a must read !!

Interesting and enjoyable but maybe a little formulaic by the end when I could sort of guess the twist.

Loved it.

Enjoyable and as imaginative as always. Magickal and psychical storyline. And a story about travel in the midst of ‘rona is just the ticket.

Me gustó el libro porque se me hizo muy espiritual y habla sobre los viajes que la protagonista y su medio hermano podían hacer fuera de su cuerpo

I was fortunate enough to have and received this book through Goodreads; and I genuinely mean it because I really enjoyed this story. I finished it within two days' time because I honestly could not put it down. The dialogue at times was a bit shallow, but the characters and the plot line made up for it, especially considering the neat tie-ins with every journey. It was an amiable adventure that I often wish I could have for myself and I enjoyed reading about.

Definitely not impressed by this one. Unimaginative, boring, predictable... Not for me. I'm not saying the writing is bad, I just didn't care for any of the characters, or the storyline in general. I had a hard time getting into the story, and once I realised where it was going, it just didn't interest me anymore.
