A Nasty Piece of Work --Taurus and Gully can't seem to stay out of trouble. after nearly being killed by a rival relic hunter, the pair are recruited to find a mad scientist. Interrupting the villain's plans, the scientist turns his full attention toward Taurus and Gully
The Taurus Moon series had begun as a funny & exciting one, where various shades of chalk & cheese came together to defeat the villains, while grabbing something valuable. In the second book, it had lost a lot of charm. This book, hopefully the final one, is definitely the worst. Stories contained herein come across as glaring examples of extremely poor writing. But let's go story-by-story.
1. "John Henry: Man Vs. Machine" is an extremely formulaic semi-steampunk story. The writing is shoddy, and instead of characters we have toons.
2. "Juju Man" would be the worst story that I have read in 2018. It's so bad that in place of horror it gives rise to cackling laughs whenever pathetic rip-offs from works done by stalwarts can be identified.
3. "Date Night" could have been fun, warm, and witty. It was atrocious.
4. "The Nightshift" was the best story of this collection. Too bad that it had got sunk by so much of trash. It's a horror story befitting any good anthology.
5. "A Nasty Piece of Work" was reminiscent of the first book of this series, but by that time I was fed up with the shoddy writing, copy-paste scenes, and ridiculous characters.
Overall, this is one strictly avoidable book, especially if you are an admirer of the new pulp fiction.
