Rate this book
Based out of Bladensburg, Maryland, 31-year-old Janet Stayley spent her life looking for a hustler. She never knew she would find one in her 15-year-old son, Kelsi.
Surrounded by violence, drugs and lies, Kelsi murders in self-defense. Suddenly Kelsi becomes charged with the new-found feeling he associates with becoming a man, and feels he can take on anything, including his mother's cheating lover. The heat of murder ensues and Janet feels it's time to make a permanent move out of Maryland.
Before doing so, she plans one last murder which, if goes as planned, could ultimately be worth millions. To top it all off, Janet has not revealed to her son the biggest secret yet.

This book was a page turner had me turner page after page waiting to get more and more drama.

I finally got to read a T. Style book and have to say great book can't wait to get part 2 to this book and more of other books by T. Style.

Overall book was about Kelsi and his mother Janet that just trying to make it no matter what. Even if that means killing.

Janet starts opening up to her son Kelsi little by little when she finds out more about her son ways when he come to her to tell her he killed this boy Charles his girlfriend Keisha's ex.

After that just to keep there secret more blood had to be shred in order to keep they secret. Of who Janet really is and about what her son did to protect himself.

At the end it all boiled down to you can't trust everyone you have in your life.

Now I see that part 2 Kelsi will truely have to know who he can't trust in his corner.

Overall great book totally want to read part 2.:)

I honestly did not enjoy this. The relationship between the mom and son was kind of uncomfortable. The plot of the story was ok but I really don't remember because I read it so long ago. I don't know if I will finish the series I might try just to see how it ends but not any time soon. I didn't really connect with any of the characters so that might be why I have not tried to read this series in so long.

Damn it funny how you think you can trust certain people and to find out that they are the same people who will cross you. Although Janet was a true hustler and tried to teach her son things to keep him up on game, but I hope that Kelsi will take the tools that his mom gave him and he put them to use. It's a parent job to teach their children life, but it is up to the child (ren) to take what is is that was given to them and use them and be smart about it. Now I definitely have to read the second book to see what happens.

This was one of the first books by T.STYLES that I had read, & I'm not sure how I felt about Kelsi & his mama. I like that Kelsi seemed to feel that it was his responsibility to protect his mom from her cheating boyfriend.
Truth be told, I read this book a few years ago & unlike with other books in my previous reviews, I can't really remember much from this story.
I may have to re-read the book just to be able to recall the gist of the storyline....if there really was one.

This book was what developed my personal love for this author. This book was a real reflection of what a mother & son relationship in the streets could be. A mothers love always attempts to steer her child to do right. Kelsi was a man after his own destiny. The alluring twist and turns of the plot is what captivates me. Most of all it’s a realistic scenario.

I really try to support urban novels this book was simplistic but like a roller coaster ride once you're on it you can't get off until it is finished.. I am glad that I already have the second book to this novel because I do not believe if I had to wait for it to come out that I will take the time to read it.

I appreciated the ending more than the rest. Seemed a bit all over the place, and dragged out.

A hustler's son wasn't what i expected. it showed up from my book service, and i started reading it, a woman in her early 30s raising her teenaged son, working two jobs to make ends meet, deadbeat boyfriend begging to come back after cheating on her with his cousin (ick) and the mom trying to keep her kid out of the street life despite the fact that her live in boyfriend is a dealer and her son has just started dealing pot. We have the story from the son for a while, his girlfriend, his dispute in school with her ex over her, and how he almost gets killed. then something happened and this ok but not super imaginative story gets a twist. once that twist came, i was really into the book. despite all the slang they used, it's more like a crime thriller. no one is what they seemed. there's a couple more twists, and then it ends, a bit cliffhangerish, and i enjoyed how it wasn't all rushed neatly tied up like too many books are these days. there is a sequel and i've stuck it on my queue to come one day. in the meantime, dont underestimate this book and pick it up and try it!

Superb ... absolutely superb!

I am well aware that this book was previously released by another publishing agency and the ever so brilliant T. Styles has regained ownership of her work! T. Styles is an absolute QUEEN that is in a class all of her own!!! This book is just as well put together as the rest of her vast arsenal of twisted tales! Should you happen to have missed reading this book, I urge you to download it's contents immediately and become engrossed in the lives of K-man and his very protective mother! Be aware that there is a part 2 that you would not want to miss a word of!
As always, T. Styles serves nothing short than an awesome read!
I am a PERMANENT fan and I shall not be moved!!!
PEACE and LOVE!

Kelsi

Kelsi turned out to be innocent but he turned into a monster overnight . I couldn't believe the person Janet turned out to be it seemed like no one could be trusted . They all had a hidden agenda and something to prove . I'm eager to see what happens next and hope he find out the truth .

Hot

This was a really good story. It dragged every so often but would pick up. Of course T. Styles had to throw some twists in there to have you thinking. I would highly recommend this book.
