How old is this? the cover is 100% sick, it's amazing and i love it, the cover alone deserves 10 stars or something.
The way batman goes around in his car as bruce wayne and investigates sites by asking jordon what happened here and gets him to spill the beans is weird i think its the only flaw in this comic lol.
i mean if they were searching for batman tada ta here he is in the flesh asking around and putting his nose where it don't belong.
but then again its too early in the batman's career the police doesn't know anything about him yet.
in legends of the dark knight we find an origins story that fits perfectly after batman year one.
i think the doctor will turn out to be the shaman that killed the two police officers in gotham.
we also see the origins of the batcave.

Interesting Continuation of the Shaman Story

It reminds me a bit of Batman: Year One. It is part of an origin story with a slightly different spin, but still serious. This makes it fresh. The artwork is quite good, although different from today's comic styles.

Four stars equals perfection in entertainment. All five of the comic books in this series have been purchased. Why? O'Neill and Hannigan created an authentic Batman story. The illustrations resemble classic D.C. comic book old-school gritty style. An interesting scenario plots alongs swiftly in reading. Nice touch having Alfred the part-time fighter in support of Bruce Wayne. Realism reflects factual probability were there in reality a Batman, for any human as is Wayne as Batman would get the $#%! kicked out of him occasionally -- no matter how superior his fighting skills. My only criticism -- but I do not pretend to know better -- would be showing Wayne in bed, at least in one frame, resting from his injuries. Those injuries he sustains would put anyone in bed for a day. But Batman is a superhero! No rest for extraordinary humans! Legends of the Dark Knight as entertainment excels! Better than watching television. Rock on 🔥

A good cliffhanger and even better art, but this is understandably a lot of prelude... that is, unless I'm correct in worrying that this mystery has tipped its hand too much already.

Off-duty cops stumble into a cult sacrificial ceremony. One is killed, the other barely makes it.

Because he just happened to be passing by, Captain Gordon tells all to Bruce.
A Reverend Thomas interrupts their conversation to talk about some demon...

Later at a party, it's revealed Wayne Enterprises funded Dr Spurlock's work with the Alaskan Indian tribes. And Bruce told the story he wasn't meant to...

Even later at night, Batman saves Officer Fong's life from a few would-be assassins. And finds a clue connected to the young patient, Tina who killed herself.

We see the Bat cave before it is so and Bruce uses a disguise to talk to Gordon about the case.

Then having set up a meeting, Bruce discovers Benne Young has been stabbed with a spear!

I loved Alfred's spunk in this one.

Maybe a little heavy handed on the religious chat. I started to think I was at a sermon but then thankfully the story pushed on and boy, it's a good 'un.

This runs alongside the events of Year One and is so enjoyable. The formation of the Batcave is here as well as the Gordon/Wayne/Batman relationship. I'm not sure Gordon would really spill crime details to Wayne, who just so happened to be passing.

Murder, mayhem, human sacrifice and dodgy disguises are making Shaman a bloody good read.
