College student Penny and billionaire Wilder have one thing in common: Love is nowhere on their agendas. Penny needs cash to help her sisters out of a bad home life; Wilder needs to feel something real, something new he can observe and be challenged by. They strike a deal — Penny will spend a weekend with Wilder, giving him her v-card and her authentic self in exchange for $4 million. What was supposed to be a simple business transaction becomes less and less simple the longer they’re in each other’s company, but are the emotions being stirred up actually real?
This book was a surprising departure from most of the books I’ve read from Khloe. I still got the heat 🔥, the dominant alpha male 🫠 and the satisfying HEA (and accompanying epilogue), but what I didn’t get was the usual instalove trope. Neither Penny nor Wilder had the “eyes meet and they know they’ve met The One” moment, and their meet cute was him buying her off the internet. While v-card auctions are not an uncommon plot point in the genre, Wilder didn’t experience the immediate bone-deep instinct to protect Penny from the world that typically occurs in these situations. However, I’m not suggesting that the book was inferior for not following those norms. It still provided the best bits of instalove — the heat and the sweet, the dirty and the devoted, the filthy and the fun.

Marked by the Billionaire is the second book in the Inked and Possessive. Rugged Mountain Ink series. This story is about Penny and Wilder. I will mention that if you are not into a DDlg kink that this story will most likely not be for you. Penny needs money quickly so that she can take her two younger sister away from their abusive father. She already works multiple jobs and goes to school full time so the only way to accomplish this is to auction her virginity. It may not be the ideal thing to do but she has her reasons and that is all that matters. Wilder is a billionaire who lives and works out of Miami. He has grown bored and unfeeling because of his privilege and that everyone around him always does and says what he wants them to. He longs for a new experience and buying a virgin may just be what he is looking for. Thus Penny and Wilder meet at the local Fall-Fest to establish the rules and then go from there. Let's just say that this story is quirky, sometimes was a bit harder to follow, completely OTT and a fun read.

This was a good book but there were a few things that bothered me….
Things I liked
- I love that he falls pretty fast and is OTT
- Reynold is great
- I love the found family for him with Penny and her sisters
- I did like the ending.
- The sex scenes were pretty good, but see below.
Things that bugged me
- I don’t get the title, I don’t see how he marked her.
- I feel like the sex scenes lacked enough descriptors of him, it’s mentioned that he’s inked and big and the cover supports that but the author doesn’t elaborate on that, a lost opportunity if you ask me.
- seemed like a lot of things could have been fleshed out much better.

Sloane is selfless and brave, doing something unthinkable to protect her sisters, and Wilder is the gruff, inked billionaire who surprises both her and himself when he claims her. Perfect!
The best thing about Khloe Summer's books is you get a full story, without having to spend 2 days or more reading, to get to any pivotal parts, and no complications with cheating, and heartbreak. That is always in the background history of the characters. Penny had a full load of responsibilities, since her Mother died, and her Father crawled into a bottle, and became abusive to her, and now her 2 younger sisters. Wilder bought a Virgin at an auction because he was empty, and looking for something. He just didn't know what. He is immediately drawn to her open honesty, and responds to her need for a protector. Wonderful HEA ending, for them all! Trish. A.

In this book we meet Penny & Wilder. When this book opens we find that Penny is meeting Wilder for a business transaction. What she didn't plan on was the draw she feels for him. Wilder finds it had to meet a woman who isn't looking at him with dollar signs in her eyes. That's why this arrangement is perfect. The problem is one look at her and he wants more. Can they find a HEA or will the past be to much to overcome?

Wilder has everything money can buy. He buys Penny at an auction, she needs money and he wants her innocence. When he negotiates for a weekend with her, he had no idea what was in store for him. I have enjoyed this series and each book has wonderful characters and the plot is always great. I can’t wait for book three.
