This groundbreaking translation revives Imam Raghib al-Isfahani's seminal ethical treatise, integrating Qur'anic principles with philosophical depth. Isfahani's timeless exploration of moral virtue, the soul and spiritual refinement is characterized by his unique weaving of Qur'anic verses and prophetic traditions into ethical discourse.
This is a difficult read, although I'm not sure if the original book (in Arabic) was written in this style or if the translator made it difficult. The actual book starts from page 55, and you get the hang of the subject around page 80.... After that, the book is like a gem of a read that you enjoy till the end. It's definitely worth a read; the noble character and its intricacies are defined in great detail, unlike any other character development book in modern times.
