Though Mei Soraike entered college dead set on finding a girlfriend, she’s been getting a little more attention than she can handle! Especially from Karin, who officially confessed to her after their play went off without a hitch. Mei is ecstatic at the prospect of finally having a girlfriend, but in such a complicated situation, saying “yes” isn’t as easy as she thought it’d be…

Well, you can certainly answer the issue posed by the title with ‘not for lack of trying’. Mei bounces haplessly between all her romantic options this volume, as befits the series’ mandate. At least there is no cringe student play this time.

Another series that is happy to do what it’s doing and I am happy to let it do just that. There’s nothing terribly novel or well-written here, but it does have a bunch of piquante situations that Mei finds herself in.

Outside of her best friend, who is not amongst the regular crew and also clearly lying about her boyfriend, Mei just goes around exploring her options and finding out more about the women in her life.

It’s all very silly - Mei promises a lot of things to a lot of people, enough so that an orgy at the end of the series wouldn’t make zero sense, certainly. Nobody is written in anything but the broadest strokes and many horny misunderstandings ensue.

I mean, this is a series where I’m rooting for the awful and inappropriate student-teacher relationship, so I know I’m as bad as the manga itself is. In my defence, the professor is the only one who seems to have her crap together (plus or minus any obvious violations of the school dress code).

Naturally, this leads to Maria, said professor, messing with Mei and everybody else on the regular. This turns into the flimsiest excuse for a beach arc I’ve seen yet, but I guarantee the mangaka will make the most of it.

It’s very low effort girl kissing action. Which, yes, means that it essentially achieves everything it actually is setting out to do. It still falls far short of the other yuri harem of note, There’s No Freaking Way I’ll Be Your Lover! Unless…, but if you need more it isn’t objectively bad, just average and underbaked.

2.5 stars - I mean, good job achieving your goals, but thin characters and decent, but not great, art will keep this in the bottom-middle tier for its entire run, I suspect. Guilty fun and utterly unremarkable in equal measure.

Look, Mei’s always putting herself down for her…how you say, certain stares (she’s young, it’s okay!!), but at the end of the day, she’s better than me, because deflecting a physical relationship so that Karin can focus on her acting goals? Couldn’t be most of us (me)!

Listen. It’s just fun. It’s so fun. Let these girls have fun.

And yes, I am 100% rooting for the teacher what can I say.
