Blood & Honey #2
Knot Without Mercy
Cove was supposed to live a quiet life.
A sweet omega with dreams of opening a bakery and spending time with her best friend. But fate has other plans—and it delivers them wrapped in the deadly, devoted hands of six gorgeous men who don’t play by anyone’s rules but their own.
When a break-in spirals into a series of brutal murders, Cove becomes the center of a deadly game she never agreed to play. Her only protection? A pack of haunted, hard-edged alphas and one dangerously level-headed beta—each bound together by blood, loss, and the ghosts they refuse to name.
As the attacks grow more vicious and the threats more personal, Cove must face the she’s not just being hunted. She’s being tested. And the more her bond with her pack deepens, the more she’s forced to become something new.
Not just a survivor.
Not just an omega.
But the kind of woman who will burn down the world to protect what’s hers.
In the town of Morbid, nothing stays buried.
Not secrets. Not guilt.
And definitely not omegas who were never meant to be soft.

Great writing, weird pacing and backstory
(Spoilers)
In this book, we spend a lot of time with Cove. But, we don't really know why Cobe is the way she is. Nothing about her family, etc.
We have a bad guy who is somehow one step of everyone else. The bad guy who actually does the work is a former small town cop. No matter how corrupt the small town was, the idea that they can somehow run circles around a unit that knows security the way her pack does...is kinda unbelievable. Especially the damage to their house to take her. Having them take her from somewhere else would've made a lot more sense. Of course, this also leads to the fact that while we know they are a unit....we know absolutely nothing else except for the brother's unit dying. Why is the pack so broken (other than said person whose brother died)? Why are they all needing to settle somewhere?
So, there is a lot of that. And there are these smaller things. In one scene, she is walked to the police car to get glass cuts looked at, and suddenly the bell rings and another pack member walks into the store? And yes, it was that confusing. Or the dates at the top...at one moment it was September 27th, then it suddenly became the 26th and then several chapters later it was the 27th again.
Overall, this author's writing style is good. They just need to work more on building up the story and the pacing of it.

It’s not hard to get an editor
This was a mess. Grammar issues. Telling someone they will have your ball just doesn’t hit without the plural form. Also, don’t have dates for chapter headings if you can’t figure out that the 26th of September should be before the 27th. Misspelled words. Plurals that have the word, a space, then the s. All of this, and it’s only Chapter 5 for me. I don’t have high hopes for the rest of the book and I’m probably not going to finish if it keeps happening. If, I do, I may update this review.

*Gets hit by car*
FMC doesn't want to bother
(law enforcement pack) because they might be busy. Lost me after that. There is no real explanation as to why Cove is like this.
Continuity errors are obvious enough to pull me out of the storyline.

Exciting
This is a really good book. Great story line and written like you are right there with Cove and her mates. I cried, laughed, & got tense with what they went through. Highly recommend

enjoyed
This was a pretty good read. I enjoyed it and the characters. Though I did have a little trouble, keeping most of them in straight in my head. The plot was really good and I enjoyed it.

Cove story
A fighter like Cove really needed 6 people to show her how much she deserves to be loved. The image for the book does not match the omegas descriptions. Rose gold hair is not auburn. I guess that my major complaint.
