Take a comprehensive look at America’s space shuttle program beginning with meeting the Shuttle Generation. Explore the world’s first space plane and its steep learning curve. Move on to the tempo of success and look toward a building in space.

Among the many highlights here are stories from the astronauts, the shuttle launching of planetary probes and observatories. Meet the five orbiters and discover the costs involved, their missions, their crews. Read stories from thirty years of exploration.

Chock full of color photographs, the informative narrative also includes a brief overview of each shuttle mission.

Highly recommended for readers interested in space travel and exploration as well as those seeking more information about the shuttle program.

Well worth the time to read it!

A story of the triumphs and "majesty" of this human built vehicle. This is not a critique about the loss of Challenger and Columbia. There are quite a few stories from astronauts with there unique insights into the shuttle that make this book well worth reading.
