Mabel McCoy #3
Chilled to the Bone
New York Times bestselling author Liliana Hart weaves a charming tale of stolen art, buried secrets, and the enduring bonds of friendship…
Fifteen years ago, three paintings vanished from Grimm Island's Historic Society during Hurricane Delilah. The theft was written off as opportunistic looting during the storm's chaos.
When the Silver Sleuths stumble across one of the missing works hanging in a mainland estate sale, Mabel realizes the heist was far more calculated than anyone suspected. The stolen pieces—a valuable Winslow Homer seascape, a Civil War-era portrait, and a rare botanical illustration—weren't random targets.
As Mabel digs deeper, she uncovers a network of art dealers, insurance adjusters, and society members who all had reasons to want those specific paintings to disappear. But when the estate sale dealer turns up dead with a paintbrush shoved through his heart, it becomes clear someone will do anything to keep this cold case buried.
The Silver Sleuths think they're hunting for stolen art. What they don't realize is that the art thief has been hunting them.
With Bea wielding a magnifying glass like a weapon and Sheriff Dash ready to lock Mabel in protective custody, the race is on to catch a killer who's turned murder into their own twisted masterpiece. Because on Grimm Island, some secrets are more dangerous than hurricanes—and this one is about to make landfall.

About the author
Liliana Hart
364 books3,330 followersLiliana Hart spent five years teaching music in the public education system. She molded America’s youth, busted kids for smoking pot in the restrooms, and broke up illicit affairs behind the stage on a regular basis. (Liliana’s Addison Holmes Mystery Series, about a small town teacher who gets into a whole lot of trouble, is somewhat autobiographical, but she won’t confess to which parts).
Liliana began reading romance novels with all her new found free time, and when she ran out of things to read, she decided to write her own novels. The result was a 150,000 word thriller—a dazzling adventure—where the heroine was a thirty-year-old virgin assassin (Yes, you read that right). She couldn’t imagine why people weren’t knocking down her door to read it, but she persevered and began writing a second book. She finally got the hang of things, and eventually learned that losing one’s virginity wasn’t all that romantic after all. All of her books involve some kind of suspense (she just can't help herself), laughter, and a lot of steamy sex.
Since the failure of her first attempt, Liliana’s books have won awards such as: The Daphne Du Maurier, The Suzannah, The Linda Howard Award of Excellence, The Maggie, and many others. Her affiliations include Romance Writers of America and Mystery Writers of America.
Liliana loves to cook, and is addicted to reading, Internet Boggle, kickboxing, and Bones. She lives in a big, rambling house in Texas with a couple of cats to keep her company. She loves to get emails from readers.
Enjoy the Adventures!

Murder with a twist
Mabel and crew are called upon to solve a 25-year-old murder that had been labeled a suicide back when it happened. The Silver Sleuths dug through a mountain of evidence to finally put the puzzle together and catch the murderer. There were several viable suspects who all seemed incapable of the crime but Mabel, Dash and the gang were able to figure out the side crimes as well as tie up this case. The ending was a cliffhanger and I’m anxiously looking forward to the next book to see what develops. Highly recommended.

Mabel and Dash!
I love this series. It’s a great mystery with a little bit of romance. Will they get together or will his past be the mystery that Mabel can’t get past? Will the Silver sleuth solve the next mystery or is there something they are all hiding. Can’t wait for the next one!!

More bones...more Mabel!
This is one of the best books I've read this year. Lilliana Hart is a brilliant writer. She makes the characters come alive and the reader relate to them and the storyline. Funny, intriguing, full
of twists and turns. I can't wait to read what Mabel, Dash and the Silver Sleuths get up to next time.
