Olivia.... She lost her boyfriend and didn't know if she would be able to come back from that. For the longest time she was nothing but lost. She returned to school and tried to return back to her old self, but it was him who brought her back. The guy she loved.
Nate.... He had always been in love with her since the first time he laid eyes on her. Then she dated his best friend and he figured that he lost his chance. When his best friend died he didn't worry about himself, all he could think about was how she was hurting and could do nothing but be there for her.
She loves him. He loves her. Fate kept them apart and brought them together. He vows to protect her no matter what. But what lengths will he go to to keep that vow? Will their love be strong enough to survive it all? Or could this be their happily ever after?
When CL King isn’t hard at work writing you can usually catch her reading, baking cookies, dancing to music, or just simply being crazy. She has a huge passion for baseball and the theatre. But her true nerd side comes out when she is doing math for fun. She has an old soul which is evident with her love of the 70s show Emergency. If you want to get on her good side bring her an Ocean Water from Sonic. Even though she tries to focus on one project at a time she always seems to be working on multiple projects at once, it’s a good thing that she is highly organized. Just don’t take her to a bookstore, you do that and you are likely able to spend hours browsing.
What a great start for this new author. I was drawn in from the beginning to Olivia's story. Many people would probably think there's no way one person could possibly go through so much, but I've known many people in my own life who have. Maybe it's why I connected to her character so much. I spent my time reading, routing for her to find her way past all her hardships and find happiness because she deserved it after all she had been through.
Then there's Nate...who wouldn't want a man like him in their life? He's compassionate and loyal and willing to brave every storm with the person he cares about. He loves without question.
There are friendships that I found myself smiling at, laughing with and grabbing the tissues because their pain brought me to tears.
I can't wait for book two and hope that CL tells us more about the Organization. I'm very curious as to why Olivia and Nate hate the job their parents had so much.
Great debut novel and stepping stone into the next book.
**************inwas given this Beta book and asked for an honest review****************** I only give this a 4★★★★ as I am into more Erotic novel's and although this book kept me enthralled I was wishing there would be lot's of great sexual scenes between the 2 main characters. I loved all the nicknames used throughout this love story. Olivia starts the book off with Ian until he is killed (would have loved to find out more about this) maybe in the next one ;) throughout the book you find that olivia is dealt some really crappy hands, she can't seem to catch a break. Then you see Nate and Olivia have an unbreakable bond it really is beautiful. Hope to find out more about micheal, christine and Garrett. This is not your typical love story it has many secrets and dilemmas throughout this book. Hope everyone enjoys. I look forward to reading the next chapter in this book.
I was very anxious for this book to release, and when it finally came out, I was so happy!
The story is about a girl named Olivia, and she has and continues to go through such hard and tragic times.
The book left me feeling totally crushed and heartbroken for her character. No one person should have to go through all of the things that Olivia goes through, and in such a short time frame.
Olivia has one saving grace, his name is Nate.
Nate is an amazing guy, and he deeply cares for Olivia. BUT he too has some secrets he's keeping...
Just when you think life may be looking up for the both of them, tragedy strikes!
Can they make it through these hard times together, or will life get in the way??
Olivia's story was heartbreaking. I can't imagine having to go through so much in such a short amount of time. One thing after another kept going wrong for her. It's a good thing that she had Nate because he truly was a blessing to her. It also helped that she had great friends like Garrett and Christine. It was nice reading about a close group of friends who at such a young age could lean on each other when things got tough. The only thing I would change about this story, or I should say would have liked better, would have been if it were written in first person POV. For me, I am able to get a better connection with the characters. When I read stories that are narrated, I don't feel as connected with the character's emotional state throughout their story. As with everything else, everyone has their personal preference when it comes to writing styles. Other then that, it was a good story!
