I’m a creator of romance who lost my way. I’m a dream weaver trapped in a world of useless information, bottom lines and bean counters. In short, I’m a writer. I pen novels of love, adventure and humor with African American lesbians as main characters.

I love writing and reading books. I’m a trivia buff and a movie freak. Just ask me and I’ll go see a movie, any movie at the drop of a hat. I’m crazy about my car. It’s a 15-year old VW convertible. Guess I like classic dependable things. I should mention I’m a curious sort too. I want to see, feel and experience as much as I can before I die and I plan on living a long time. My people live into their late nineties to over hundred and five.

Great story, and I'm immediately hooked after the first chapter when Joanna come through Ellie's door. I'd say first half of this book is actually more romance oriented, but the latter half of the book - Wow!! reading the last 30% of the book is like going on a roller-coaster. There is s a small part of the book where there is just too much coincidence, but all in all I've thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Well, again, this book was good until everything was solved and suddenly the strong Ellie turns into a helpless, whiny and weak person who doesn't want to get help from anyone. Come on, really? This story should have been left where all the good guys are safe and all the bad guys dead ;) but still it's well written story with very likeable characters (at least up to this point).

The Doctor is in the house!!!

Thanks for the peek into the lifestyle of a small town Dr. I Loved the twist with the HORNY SHERIFF, and the SADIST RICH GUY. It was a good read. One I would listen to repeatedly on Audible. Just saying.

Safe Haven pulled me right in and kept me on edge throughout.
Joanna Fairfield is a woman in peril with a young son (the adorable and thoroughly lovable Danny--I want to pinch his cheeks through the pages). She has escaped the abuse of a completely despicable man, Vernon Brown, whose relationship to Joanna is a mystery (it is solved eventually, though!). Joanna ends up in a small Southern town and finds romance with the town doctor, Eleanor Winston, who carries some baggage of her own.
Safe Haven is an excellent suspense/romance novel. The main characters are warm, funny, and real. Ms. Wilson handles the sex scenes and abuse in a matter-of-fact manner, rather than sensationalizing or exploiting the subject matter. I found myself talking to the characters as I was reading, trying to keep them from making dangerous decisions as Vernon and his men began to catch up with Joanna...

Good enough plot, but the writing is kind of confusing.
