Proper suspense mystery hot romance series, loved that the books were split into two sets, books 1&2 are about Emma and Craig and books 3&4 are about Hawk (yum)! and Vivienne but there'll interconnecting, so much drama/intrigue, even the last page has you itching to read books 5&6, but it's not a cliffy as such just another instalment to the series about Jerry and I'm assuming Sara. Glad I gave this a go.

Edge of Heat , more like In the Middle of the Heat

I was on the edge of my seat. In the beginning I was terrified for some of the characters, as I got deeper into the book my fear intensified. Then there was a break and the fear lessened. The happiness started, but as it never fails in a good book the fear comes back. The ending had me crying tears of joy. Then the twist, the fear and the set up for the beginning of book five.

I LOVED this series! #1 was a little drawn out while you get a feel for the characters. But still an excellent book. And it's all up-hill from there! These books are action-packed, suspenseful, with a little bit of sexiness in there!

The first four books of the Edge of the Heat series.

Edge of the Heat 1:

This book introduces us to Emma, a paramedic/firefighter. When she falls four stories from a roof while on a call, she wakes up believing she's had a vision of the man who will find her and love her for the rest of her life. So, when she starts to fall for another firefighter (the one who saved her), she fights it because he does not look like the man in her 'vision'. She doesn't know he's an undercover FBI agent. Her partner, Jerry, is able to tell her all about the rescue. He can't believe she made it. Three weeks later, she's back to work. Jerry is so happy to have his partner back - he had had to work with another paramedic, when that was considered to be probably 'dirty' like many other civil servants in town...including police. Her own ex-husband, Norman, was probably a dirty cop...and he scared her. There is also a Senator involved - one with dark secrets. Emma needs to find her perfect man, her twin sister (separated at birth and put into separate foster homes, since her mother died during the birth), and needs to stay safe from Norman. This book has lots of intrigue and danger, and, thankfully, romance!

Edge of the Heat 2:

This book picks up where the first one ended - with Emma trying to find Craig (her FBI/Firefighter), and running from her crazy ex - Norman. Using a forest fire for cover, Norman nearly kills Craig. Emma finds him...and later gets arrested and thrown in jail (by one of Norman's crooked cop friends). She is attacked and sliced with a boxcutter, and released to the paramedic called in to check her out (Jerry). Norman is walking a fine edge...he answers to the crooked Senator, but is starting to follow only his own drummer - trying to get Emma back. Finding her twin and being kidnapped by Norman...with Craig trying desperately to find her, along with his best friend and boss, Hawk...this book just kept the adrenalin flowing.

Edge of the Heat 3:

Now we have Vivian, Emma's twin sister, and her growing affection for Hawk. She is brilliant and wealthy - having been adopted and raised with money her whole life. Hawk is fighting his own fear - of women, relationships, lies. His heart had been too broken, his trust turned to dust. The attraction he feels for Vivian is killing him. When Emma and Craig have a nearly fatal confrontation with the Senator, who is the father the girls never knew, it's a hold-your-breath moment. Norman is on the loose, too, and is posing a constant danger to all of the team, and the two women. There is an ending, and a new beginning...

Edge of the Heat 4:

A double wedding. A medical report of good health. A healing injury. New love blooming for Jerry? But the woman escapes from the wedding and leaves no trail. Jerry is determined to find her. AND the girls find out they are triplets - they have a brother out there, too. This book ends with Jerry on the news standing in front of Sara's apartment - where there is blood everywhere.

I have to say, this is an exciting series filled with danger, intrigue, love, romance, bravery...just about everything you could want in a book - or four, or, in this case, seven. The next three books are separate, but this boxed set certainly gets you in the mood to read the rest!!

I love when an author puts books that were put out as series into one book for me YEA! This book has books 1-4 of some massive HEAT and I do mean HEAT!!!! I discovered book 1 by accident as a free book and them went looking for the rest of the books and was so happy to find this set. This is the first time I have read anything from this author, but if all her books are like this.... She has a reader for life.

The story line is great. It has you holding on from page one until the end and now I am off to get books 5-7. Yes some of the reviewers mention you have to move into another book to keep reading but duh the book is right there just flip the screen. This book does have a great deal of suspense and also has twists and turns. Craig and HAWK are the heroes every girl dreams of and Emma's ex well lets just say he is one giant slug.
I highly recommend this book or better yet there is an issue of books 1-7 grab that one. Either way you can't go wrong.

Excellent!!!

Wow..I never knew how good this series was until I swiped my phone and started to read the first chapter of this mind-blowing series...I read the set of 4 novels in less than three days. Love how Emma despite her rough and failed marriage to a corrupt cop, it didn't stop her from falling in love with her dream man and hero Craig.....And the sisters Emma and Vivian finding each other after being separated at birth over three decades ago was perfectly done. The double wedding was beautiful and it was kind of a family reinion with Emma and Vivian getting to know their mother's side of the family and them finding out that they have a brother out there which make them triplets and not twins. That was one heck of a weddibg present for them....Can't wait to see what comes next in the lives of Emma and Craig and Vivian and Hawk and their dear ones.

More questions than answers

This box set features two sisters, twins separated at birth. Vivian was adopted and became a scientist. Emma grew up in foster care and became a paramedic/firefighter. A health condition sends Vivian to the city where she was born to look for her birth family, hopefully to gather information about health histories. There she meets Emma and the two of them end up in the middle of an FBI investigation because of Emma's ex husband. The box set ends with HEA's for both women and a cliffhanger for one of their friends, a teaser for book five.

This book series contains books 1-4, and it is fantastic. The series follows Emma and Craig then shifts to include Vivian and Hawk. I usually like books with a lot of steamy romance scenes, but I loved this series. There were limited love scenes, but the story and suspense were fantastic. I love this series and look forward to continuing the series with Jerry and then onto the Unauthorized series. I think I found a new author to read in Lisa Ladew!

Good story

I really liked the story but I don't like stories that seem to drag on. I would like to know more because at the end they give you a little more of a cliff hanger. Still I am wanting something different and will read another story. Who knows maybe I will come back to this series.

I was holding the edge of my tablet so hard I had imprints on my hands when I was finally able to set the book down. Amazing writer; amazing series. From the very beginning, you are held in place with wanting to know what happens next. Each book went flawlessly into the next so that you didn't even realize you had read through FOUR BOOKS!!! Once you start, you won't be able to put it down!

This review is actually for the box set including stories 1-7. The series is about a family of triplets, two girls and a boy, separated at birth, their eventual partners, their efforts to find each other, and the adventures that befall them as they do so. I have to admit that it was one of the most enjoyable couple of hours I have spent reading. (I voluntarily reviewed this box set of ebooks.)

This series was definitely worth the reread. There were lots of little things that I hadn't picked up on the previous read and I had forgotten just how suspenseful and intriguing the plot was. I'm glad I revisited Westwood harbour before starting book 7.

Red hot firemen, firemen, FBI agents, and really bad guys

If you like mystery with its alpha males both good and bad. Same characters and same great mystery. Great to read all four books in order. Adult reader

There is nothing better than a good, susensful love story and with thi serie, that is exactly what you get! It was a good facinating read, and even better as a complete set so there is not cliff-hanger to drive you ad. The only down side is wanting to keep the story going!

Slow and boring!

This book dragged. I couldn't get past the first few chapters. Needed better dialogue. Female character was wishy washy. Archived this book.
