A few points before I get into the book:
As a Louisiana native I loved the way New Orleans was represented! Even if it was just a small mention in the book, I'm thankful for that. So many times, NOLA is romanticized, its lights, and fun and hustle and bustle, but still so beautiful and historic. Which all of that is true, it's still New Orleans. So the mention of the smells and districts, was super refreshing and REALISTIC to read! Thank you for that!
I loved the cat and mouse game. The tension, the push and pull. The game to see who can outwit whom, while all simultaneously wanting the same thing. It made the story so much more entertaining!

I enjoyed how Reagan was a strong FMC. She was dominant but submissive when she needed. I loved her development. I love how Brooks and Grayson were so much alike but their temperaments were polar opposites! Brooks being softer, more boyish, gentler.. Grayson being strong, assertive, but sweet only for her. It was the perfect mix!

The plot, the build up, the EVERYTHING was so perfectly executed, I was pleasantly surprised! I loved even the side characters, yesss even creepy elevator guy! They all added depth to the story, no matter how brief it frequently they were mentioned.
The story flowed perfectly. Didn’t feel rushed, or “jumpy”. It made me almost forget that everything happened in a short span of time.

Also side note, Salem is such a sweetheart! I had a blast interacting with her and giving my live reactions!

Theirs to Hunt… what a dark take on hide and seek.. Thank you, Salem Hurley for the ARC!

Let me start by saying I loved the background of the story, the details that Salem intertwined within to make the reader immerse themselves within Louisiana. Spot on!

Now for the story… well, this will make you think twice about going to a singles event where you mingle, hoping to meet someone interesting. This Spring Primal Fete (festival) definitely went sideways in the most delicious way.

The Prey, Reagan, the prize in the fawn mask (Bambi Greyson referred to her as) was not your “typical” meek and shy “oh my God, they are hunting me”, oh no, she was witty, provoking, at times she even taunted them. There were a few places in the book I was cheering for her and the shenanigans she was doing.

The Hunters, Greyson and Brooks, the mysterious silver fox and his son, the men in the tiger and lion masks. The father and son duo were relentless in what they wanted and they wanted Reagan as a possession in their prize. Not just for the moment but for a lifetime.

The only thing that this book lacked was more of the primal prey chase. Once Grayson and Brooke got Reagan the “chase” stopped and that is why I rated it 4 stars. I felt the darkness leave and it become more of a “poly romance.” The idea of the single mingle was fantastic and I’m looking forward to more of that in following books.

MFM - Dad/Son - Obsessed Stalker

First and foremost, I really enjoyed the multi POVs and the time stamped chapter headings. The first book took place over a week or so time frame and we got POVs for the same scenes which I LOVED.

This one follows the unhinged but Loveable father/son duo who just happen to also be filthy rich and obsessed with their employee. Like, what’s not to love?

I loved this book, read it in one sitting. It starts off fast and doesn't stop. But by no means feels rushed. The cat and mouse chase, the fact the FMC is a badass and gets what she wants, she is both dominant and submissive when needed. There are 2 MMCs. A father and son, they think they found their prey...the twists! it was immersive and descriptive. I cannot wait for the next part.
Thank you so much Salem Hurley for the e arc,

all opinions are my own ♥️

We jumped right into the hunt! Greyson and Brooks ( a father and son duo) know what they want and it’s Reagan. Reagan is a smart and bada** FMC. She knows what she wants and goes to get it! Did she notice all the signs, yes? Did she care? No! The way Brooks and Greyson care for Reagan is beautiful. They each give her what she needs, even without her saying it. I love reading each one of their point of view and seeing their perspective on the same situation. I am on edge reading this story( in a good way) and loving every minute of it. This story keeps you guessing and wanting more. I need to know what happens next. The book ends in a good place( not a crazy cliffhanger) but there are questions that you still need answers to. Where is book two? I need it my questions answered.

About the book:
When Reagan is invited to what she thinks is a simple singles mingle, her life is quickly turned on it's side. Brooks and Grayson have had their eyes on Reagan for some time, and after that night, the hunt is on. But Reagan isn't exactly scared - and in fact turns the tables, provoking, taunting, striking back. Who comes out on top?

Interest points:
SPICE baby
MMF
Daddy
Kink
Why choose
MINE
Death is too good for you if you hurt her
Age gap

Thoughts:
Ohhh boy. So, this isn't exactly what I was expecting from the description and cover, but I did really enjoy it. Was I supposed to be working on something for my job? Yes. Was I sitting there devouring this book instead? Absofreakinlutely. The writing is engaging - the relationships are well fleshed out, the characters are dynamic. Reagan is a little awkward, a little playful, a little daring. Grayson is stoic, controlled, only soft for her. Brooks is a golden retriever- emotionally supportive, bite anyone that harms his girl, big cuddle energy. I LOVE that we have an unhinged bestie that is prevalent and present, boosting our main character and adding to the plot. It's nice to see that dynamic, I feel like a lot of romances that I've read really don't have that dynamic - it becomes all about the MMC and FMC. Here, our bestie doesn't disappear, and we stan it. I love how close they are and I love that Reagan will literally rock a mf for touching her bestie. Did I want more hunt? Yes. Do I think this will be explored in future books? Absolutely. Our kink list was sealed, stamped and delivered so I know more is coming. I appreciate the thought put into it; yes we have known our baes for 2 weeks. Yes, our FMC thinks she might be crazy and questions her rationality. But we don't get a big dump of crap that goes from 0 to 100 overnight, we're left with breathing room to expand and explore as the series continues. I like the story evolving - I want to see more of their covert work, more underground shit, more badass face kicking-in. This is definitely a series I would be interested in following and see more of.

This is one of those books that has a slow burn build up with suspense and mystery, but as soon as the dam breaks and the spice begins, it hits hard. I can honestly say that I haven’t read a lot of stories where the MMCs are father and son. I wasn’t sure what to expect and whether it would be my cup of tea. But it turns out I was definitely a fan. The two were very different and I though the two together with the FMC were absolutely perfect. As someone that has spent a good amount of time in New Orleans, I really appreciated the way that this author describes the city with such depth and beyond the top superficial layer. This was such a great dark romance with the perfect dark twist on hide and seek. It is a fast paced read and one that I was able to devour in no time. The story hooks you and drags you down deep. I love the predator/prey aspect and how it is so much more. The characters make the story and the twists, and the suspense keep you hanging on.

I love a story where the “prey” is so much more than the fragile weak girl that allows the MMCs to just run over her. Reagan is not the simple weak prey that you often see. She has strength and fight, making her the perfect FMC to be hunted by these two men. She is the perfect FMC to be in this position because she can be the submissive girl for them, when she chooses to. But she can also be the BA tough woman that I absolutely fall for. Grayson and Brooks were two men that you could tell were father and son but were very different when you boil it all down. Grayson is one of those men that is only sweet for his woman. He is strong and dominant. Brooks is sweet and would do anything for his woman. Together they make the perfect compliment to Reagan.

I honestly thought when I started this that it would be a lofty like so many books that I have read. There wouldn’t be anything wrong with that, because I do enjoy reading those books. But this was more than I thought I was getting. We definitely got spice, and it was *chef’s kiss*. This was definitely a book a would recommend to others would enjoy a dark romance with a game of cat and mouse that everyone wins.

This is such a fun and dark twist on hide and seek!

Grayson and Brooks wanted Reagan even before they saw her at the Spring Primal Fête, but when she ran from them it cemented their decision. She is exactly who they’ve been looking for - intelligent, brave, and loyal. But she isn’t just going to accept being the prey for the two obsessive men. She is determined to flip the game. They will break all the rules to claim her but they didn’t expect her to claim them right back.

I really enjoyed this book! I love how Reagan is so smart and strikes back at Brooks and Grayson. I also love how she and Bobbie are ride or die besties and even their relationships don’t tear them apart. The different POVs were really great to get inside the heads of different characters. Grayson’s POV was especially interesting since he wasn’t as expressive externally. I did feel like some of the POV switches in the middle of a scene made it feel a little repetitive since the same thing would be described in both chapters. The chemistry between the characters was fantastic and I really enjoyed how different Grayson and Brooks were with Reagan. Their relationships were interconnected but still unique to them. I did enjoy the spice, but I would have liked a little more exploration of the primal aspect. Overall, I would definitely recommend checking it out if you like why choose and possessive MMCs.

✨Theirs to Hunt

If you love:

🔹Masked men
🔹Ex military
🔹strong FMC
🔹Father & Son MMCs
🔹Age gap
🔹”Mine” / “Ours”

I read this book as an ARC. It was fast paced with a slow burn. Once we got to the spicy scenes, goodness, it was 🥵🔥. Story follows our FMC, Reagan Parks and our two MMCs, father, Grayson and son, Brooks Calhoun. Yes, I said Father and Son.

She doesn’t know that they’ve been watching her and gets put in a situation where she runs. These men will burn the world for her. One is the builder and the other keeps the lights on. I love that Reagan is strong, independent, and has a ride or die bestie, Bobbie.

Salem Hurley incorporated multiple POVs from all characters and I loved it. Especially in Grayson’s case, because he’s quiet and stoic. It was awesome to hear his thoughts. The characters were well developed and relatable. The plot is good and I loved the descriptions of New Orleans. The story moves fast so read slower so you don’t miss anything. I know I had to even though I read it in one day. 🤣

This is book 1 in a series and it ends with a cliffhanger. Not too bad but I can’t wait to read book 2 for answers to questions. I highly recommend reading this one.

“We want a partner. Not a doormat.”

Firstly, I binged this book in three hours, it was THAT good!!
I loved the fact that Reagan wasn't a pushover. She was dominant when she needed to be and submissive when she wanted to be.

Brooks & Grayson are the perfect duo. Almost like ying & yang. This quote describes them perfectly -
"One sees my brain. My drive. My need to be more. The other sees the things I didn’t realize I needed. To be cared for. To be adored."

Even though this was a very "fast" book where everything happened quickly, the pacing did not feel fast or rushed. You almost forget the time frame that everything happens in.

Bobbie also deserves a special mention, such an incredible side character who added so much depth to the story/situation. My favourite line of hers?
“They took your orgasms, Reagan. This is war.”

I am so excited for book two to see what happens next.
If you love a cat and mouse chase, MMF (father & son) and beautiful New Orleans then you'll love this book.

"And for the first time in years, I believe. I believe that maybe, just maybe, there are happy ever after’s, and possibilities beyond our wildest dreams. Even for girls like us."

You know when you start reading a book and suddenly it's over because you haven't been able to put it down? That's this. I absolutely devoured this.

One of my favorite things in reading is when an author throws you in the middle of things and let's you learn about the world as the FMC is also learning about what's going on. It's like you can sink into the story just a bit more because you get more through the eyes of someone that's also in the thick of things.

This is the kind of slow burn I love: slow to realize the true feelings, but hits about 60% and everything combusts. Reagan is a badass. The club scene? Nailed it. The guys just handling business? Fantastic. The Lion and The Tiger are so freaking fierce in the obsession and possession.

Now I have to wait for the second part of the duet? Baited breath.

a nice fancy dinner turned into a predators trying to catch their prey..who never backs down from anything or anyone.

reagan is automatically attracted to the men who wear the tiger and lion masks. as things progresses in their possessiveness, she and her friend bobbie come up with their own plan to make them know they don’t have total control.

as she slowly gives into the caring and loving nature of both of the men who have become captivated with her, she witness just how much she’s been wanting someone to see her. to love her. to cherish her. to be someone’s person.

their relationship builds through trust and different dynamics between all three of them but it just works.

they are HOT and STEAMY! oh and did i mention the two men are father and son?

y’all have to read this story and experience their primal need to have their little bambi.

Theirs to hunt

This was a quick read they kept me on my toes. We are brought in the middle of Reagan hiding during what is supposed to have been a fun dinner, but it turned out to be a twist of hide and seek. The seekers, Brooks and Grayson, two men who have had their eyes on her for some time.

Little does she know they offer her an opportunity that seems too unreal and yet enticing. Are they playing a game? The lion and tiger. Maybe, but as their little fawn, she starts her own with them and so discovers what she has with them, unconventional as it is, maybe what she is looking for.

I’m looking forward to part 2 as soon as it comes out. I can’t wait to see what happens with Reagan, Brooks, and Grayson. I would never have thought a father and son duo could make me go “ooooh, yes please” ☺️😉

ARC review of Theirs to Hunt by Salem Hurley
Release date: 09 September 2025

3⭐️
3🌶️

It was an action-packed start through to about 65% of the book. Then it slowed a bit as some things click into place. HOWEVER, I’m not sure what the intended plot was… I was waiting for the ‘why’, the reveal but it never came and then the book ended 🥲

The characters were likeable, they all have their different personalities and each fit in the story.

The writing was easy to get into as well and got me hooked from start. Although, a couple of chapters had a shift in first to third POV and vice versa - I wasn’t sure if it was intentional? So that did get confusing at times.

Will I read the next book? Yeah probably, I want to see if my questions get answered then (I hope so!)

Thank you to the author, Salem Hurley, for gifting me this eARC. All opinions in this review are my own.

Theirs to Hunt – ARC Read
By Salem Hurley

Obsession. Spice. Possession.
A little age gap (for one of them).
Why-choose romance. Workplace tension.
Alligators. Southern NOLA charm.

Reagan’s doing her best to live life on her own terms—guarded but free, with her best friend Bobbie by her side. They blow off steam dancing their way through the Quarter, balancing their intense day jobs with late nights and laughter. It’s the closest Reagan has come to peace.

But there’s something she doesn’t know…

A lion and a tiger have been watching her. Waiting for the right moment to claim their little fawn.
After one unforgettable night—a night that should have sent her running—Reagan begins to realize just how long she’s been their prey. But instead of fleeing, she decides to play the game too.

Uncovering their identities becomes her obsession, but once the truth is out? She doesn’t run—she leans in. The heat only intensifies. This is a cat-and-mouse game, but the mouse? She loves to play.

In the midst of all the danger and desire, Reagan finds something she’s never truly had: belonging. And now that she’s tasted it, she doesn’t want to let go.

My Thoughts:
I absolutely loved this book. The friendship between Bobbie and Reagan was such a beautiful and grounding support system. As the story unfolds, Reagan slowly begins to surrender to the idea of belonging—not just anywhere, but with them.

She starts to imagine a future, a life shaped by connection and safety, and grows even more confident with them by her side. And as much as she was hunted, her predators begin to shift too—realizing she’s not just prey. She’s theirs. Someone they want to protect and cherish in a way she’s never experienced before.

I love a strong FMC and Rae did NOT disappoint!! She knows when to hold strong and when to cave. She's fiercely protective and carries undying loyalty. She doesn't run when pushed into a corner! She pushes back, changes the game.
1 man sweet and caring, the groundwork for a happily ever after, all the perks included
1 man determined to make sure nothing goes wrong, laying the groundwork for years to come, plans to be made
Both men hers and she theirs. Both equal in their need for her. The Story line? Beautiful! The spice? 🥵🥵 it hits in the best of ways!
Quite literally the best of both worlds.
I'm so glad this book was brought to me & I got to read it!! Looking forward to book2!

Thank you so much for this ARC 💖💖💖

Man 😮‍💨 this book got me hooked since chapter one! It was so good! They knew what (who) they wanted and went for it! Daddy Greyson and Baby Brooks I love that Reagan doesn’t have to choose between them, because they are so perfect! I love that Greyson loves control but isn’t controlling of Reagan and Brooks is so funny and hoooooooot ❤️‍🔥 and let’s talk about my queen Reagan, she’s such a badass, string and smart! Not a prey! I love her so much! And her friendship with Bobbie 💖 girlhood is everything!
I can’t wait for the next book and more of them three ❤️‍🔥

4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Raegan isn’t your typical submissive heroine — she’s strong, loyal, and knows exactly when to bend and when to stand her ground. I loved that she brought balance to the story, showing vulnerability without losing her strength.

I expected more of a “masked hunting” vibe, but instead this leaned into a stalker-style dark romance — and honestly, it worked. It was taboo in ways that surprised me, and I was shocked by how much I enjoyed it. The tension between the characters never lets up, pulling you deeper with every chapter and setting the stage for a raw, addictive duet.

A must-read if you’re into dark romance that’s a little taboo, a little twisted, and completely addictive

When Reagan ends up entangled in Greyson and Brooks’ world, she has no idea what she’s in for… are they her worst nightmare or her dream come true?

Theirs to Hunt is a dark, fast-paced cat-and-mouse chase that pulls you deep into a world of obsession, power, and forbidden desire. Salem Hurley delivers a story that’s both brutal and addictive, the kind you can’t look away from even when you probably should.

If you love your dark romance with bite (and a few sharp edges), this one’s for you. Just make sure to check the content menu — this book doesn’t hold back.

so I got accepted as a beta reader after sliding in the DMs. And I still slide lol. What I was expecting as opposed to what happened is crazy! I’m thinking oh they are going to hunt her but let’s see what happens through me but in a good way. Yes she was intended to be hunted but only by brooks and daddy grey but there’s sooooooo much more. Initially I didn’t think I was going to like Bobbi but she grew on me. It’s easy to tell who you’re going to be against but give it a try. Now if you’re unhinged and unbothered you need this in your life when it’s available! If you’re vanilla and think 50 shades is life this may not be for you. There are triggers but I didn’t read em lol. This story has a good story line going and it’s going to leave you on a cliffhanger but I promise it’s worth it once you get to book 2!!

This is a morally grey story of a dad( Grayson), son( Brooks) and their prey. Their dangerous hunting game and lifestyle playing with people’s lives. Will their prey(Reagan) be against it or will she succumb to the needs of them and herself? If you are ready for a slow burn that may emotionally ruin you and then have you wanting more at the end, then this is for you? I can’t wait to see how this story continues in the next book! This author knows how to keep you engaged and earning for more!

This book has such an interesting concept. A little taboo. But I actually really enjoyed it. It’s giving a little bit of credence vibes with the family dynamic. But so different at the same time.

The reason I took a star away is because I didn’t think there was much of a climax. I think a lot more could have happened with the hunter/ prey plot. More teasing/ more “hunting”.

But nevertheless I couldn’t put it down and needed to know what happened next. It was very interesting and different from my usual read.

The complexity of this story took me by surprise! I love the yin & yang between Grayson and Brooks - both of them fulfilling a different need in the relationship (thats why we love why choose romance, after all!). I am looking forward to book 2 - there is still quite a bit of plot to unravel, and I'd love to get some additional clarity on Brooks & Graysons' back story.

I loved that this book is set in New Orleans and I think details that the author used when describing the city and the scenes was incredible. The main characters Reagan, Greyson, and Brooks were so interesting. Same with Bobbie and Devon. I would love to see their point of view more in the other books in the series.
