This book contains a prologue that was published in its entirety as The Escape. The prologue is only a small portion of the book. Through no fault of her own, Gwen Blue found herself embroiled in a scandal that would set Beckham, Massachusetts on its ear, and get her locked in her room for two months. When she found herself betrothed to a man she found loathsome, she wanted nothing more than to disappear. When her sisters liberated her from her room and proposed a journey to Texas to visit an old school friend, she didn't have to be asked twice. Walton Dalton always had a plan for his life. He'd spent years learning everything he needed to know about ranching, and he had a large parcel of land adjacent to his two brothers' land. Between the three of them, they were going to build a Texas ranching empire. For his empire, he needed a bride. Without his brothers’ knowledge, Walt sends off for three mail order brides from a matchmaker in Beckham. He knows from the moment he sees ‘Gorgeous Gwen’ that she's meant to be his. Will she agree to the marriage? If she does, will she be able to get over her self-centered attitude and be a good wife?
I love western romances but I think even if I didn't I'd have enjoyed this book. Walt was a great brother even if he didn't tell his brothers the truth about the letter he sent to the mail order brides service . Made me smile when the other there of his triplet brothers met their mail order brides. He might not of bargained for Gwen as his bride. Can't wait to read the next installment of the Dalton Brides. Kristen Osbourne did a great job writing this story. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a great book to read . I'll not give any spoilers out but if you enjoy a HEA this is the book for you !
I love how Kirsten writes. She draws you in within the first chapter and this book did just that. The story follows three sister whom live in their parents house. Back then women had to marry men their dad chose for them. However, when one of them gets into a bit of scandle and locked in her room til her wedding day, her sisters come to the rescue. However, it's not the rescue she was hoping for. For her oldest sister had set them all up to be Mail-Order brides for triplets down in Texas. If you are looking for a fast, good read then pick this book up! Happy reading my friends.
If you're starting this series, read The Escape first. Then on to this book. It's the length of a novella and skips over details to keep it short. The first chapters were compelling and fun. The last chapter was out of place, but could possibly be setting up for future stories in the series.
This Was Great! I Can’t Wait To Read The Rest Of The Series!
I live a series about a whole family. “The Rancher’s Mail Order Bride” has certainly started this series with a bang. Walt and Gwen are perfect for each other. Enough said. I don’t want to spoil the story if you haven’t read it yet.
It was very satisfying to read that Gwen and Walt were able to work out all their marital differences. The ending was fun having the three Blue brothers showing up. I don't think we have seen the last of them. Fun and fast reading.
This has a lot of potential, but the full story didn't materialize. I will read the series but will not follow up with future books. Take it back to the drawing board and write the full story.
What an exciting adventure for three sisters to brave together, and to Mary triplets.....Oh my! And the changes that happen to survive and overcome adversity are insightful. Enjoy 💜
I liked how this story is of three sisters who goto become brides to three brothers. It starts off with a few not knowing what is going on. But it ends up with them all getting married. They all have their hands full, but they all work things out in their own way.
This was a very nice book written by Kristen Osbourne. She has done this book proud by writing this book very well. The scandal that was created and that lead to the runaway to a marriage was very nice done in this book. This was a very enjoyable read.
I read The Drifter's Mail-Order Bride before reading the previous books. After finishing The Rancher's Mail-Order Bride, I still like Bart & Bonnie better. In this book, the author writes about Gwen's and Walton's romance. I enjoyed this story and the happy ending.
Sweet short story. The plot was good but the dialog and exposition could have been better. The characters weren't as deep/developed as I would have liked.
This book is one of three connected stories concerning three brothers who marry three sisters. The stories occur simultaneously but are told by three different authors in three books. Each book presents a different pair's romance. There is significant overlap in the stories often with triplicate copy, but that is to be expected. All three books contain the background information that was published separately. This is listed as both book 1 and 2. Confusing.
This is the story of Gorgeous Gwen and Walton Dalton. Gwen didn't even know she was a mail order bride. Walt plans everything for himself and his triplet brothers. This is a story of Gwen's transition from spoiled little pampered girl to rancher's wife. Read it first
This was cute and I enjoyed it very much. The writing is good, the characters developed, and I really liked the storyline. Three sisters end up going west to become mail order brides. Not original - or so you think - until you factor in that this decision is prompted by a scandal, one of the girls is totally unaware of the "real" reason behind the "trip" they are taking, and they are escaping marriages arranged by their disgruntled father. And I loved the ending - not anything like what you expect....not going to give any spoilers, though. This is the first book that I've read in the series, but since I also have 3 more in this series, it won't be the last. Thumbs up to the author.
Gwen has caused one to many scandals for her family. And her sisters are drawn in too. To save family face, their father has chosen old men for them to marry. Not accepting that fate, Bonnie hatches a plan.
Answering a mail order add for 3twins, they head to Tx and the Dalton brothers.
What Walt gets instead of a ranchers wife is a spoiled, selfish girl. But she intrigues him and she is willing to learn. When troubles come, can they trust each other, and in the love that is slowly blossoming? Loved the whole story and the humor involved. Can't wait to find out what secrets the other brothers and their wives have hidden!
I enjoyed the story; however, there were some shortcomings. One, it was too short. Kristen could have combined the stories of the three sisters and brothers to make one book. This way the story does not have to be re-stated for each story, and it could be told consecutively. There are so many unanswered questions when it was written this way. It cannot be a stand alone book because of this fact. Lastly, this book was too PG for my taste; I should have read the genre more carefully. The book could have been a lot better if it was based on a timeline and not based on the character. It could have been a 4 ½ star book instead.
Quite entertaining. From the moment the Dalton Brothers meet the Blue Sisters things were quite surprising and rather amusing. From getting over the idea of being married to actually being married was quite an adjustment especially since two of the sisters aren't natural born homemakers and one of the brothers cannot even remember his brides name. This book is sweet, funny and of course you have to love any character named Walton Dalton. If you enjoy Mail Order Bride stories, I recommend this one.
I enjoyed this book. It's a very quick read about three sisters who head to Texas as mail order brides for three brothers after they are involved in a scandal. It's Avery cute story of how three very different sisters deal with a very different life then they were used to. Two of the sisters didn't know the first thing about cooking, cleaning or taking care of a home. Two of the three brothers didn't even know they were going to be married. If your looking for some light reading this is the book for you.
This was a sweet and enjoyable story. Although, some fairly unlikeable main characters in the beginning but slowly they become more likable as they went along. As they are starting to grow on me and different issues and events arise the book abruptly ends with so many loose ends and unanswered pieces. Want me to read book two? Show me you can finish book one! I love reading a good series but this ended so strangely out of nowhere that I thought it was a glitch in my kindle. Sadly, I was mistaken.
I was looking for a follow up series to a previous western mail order bride series and decided to give this a shot. This review is for the prologue, book 1 and book 2. This series is about three triplet brothers who learn to love their mail order brides. These books are apparently written by different authors. I did not like the first one it was just slow and the characters where annoying. The second one was good and I enjoyed it a lot. I just did not enjoy having to repeat parts of the story we already know. I hate books that repeat themselves. It drives me crazy!!
I read the prequel to this series and wanted more. Gwen and Walt's story was about a beautiful spoiled young woman and a rancher with a dream. Seemed a bit light on details and not much conflict I am more interested in Bonnie and Bart's story which is the third story. I will read the series in order though and hope the next author is more to my liking.
The first book in this series and it was just awesome. As always, Kirsten and her sense of humor can't go wrong. Loved this book and can't wait for book #2 in this series.
