This series is blowing my mind, I can’t get enough of it. The characters are wonderful, their strong yet vulnerable, passionate, loving, caring, protective and totally awesome, all one could want in characters. The story line is excellent, I am completely addicted. I don’t know what’s around each corner and I love that. Some of the things that have happened are just unbelievable, in a great way. Next I’m reading book 4 and greatly look forward to it.

*Be warned this "review" turned more into a rant about my frustration with this series as a whole.

Am I even reading the same book that everyone else has read? I'm truly starting to question my sanity at this point with all the glowing reviews this series has. The only thing keeping me in these books is the world-building. Every other aspect of these stories is frustrating to a degree that has become uncomfortable.

The worst part is this family that has been charged to protect Eve and do everything backwards. They don't tell her the intricacies of their world and keep even the most basic things a secret for no apparent reason. Then they get angry with her when she asks a (what they consider to be) dumb question or when she does something reckless because she doesn't know the danger she's in because NO ONE BOTHERED TO KEEP HER INFORMED. Having the whole story relay on keeping the heroine in the dark while sometimes sprinkling tidbits of relevant information here and there is a copout in my book. Can you tell how much this story and these characters frustrate me yet?

Truth be told, I actually took a few months break between reading book #2 and #3 of this series so I'm not as fed up with Asher and Gage as I probably would've been had I gone straight into this novel when I finished #2. I don't feel strongly enough (anymore) about either one of them. Though I'm partial to Gage considering he actually gave her a lot of very important and relevant information during his few days stay with Eve.

The only thing I can think of of the ending is: #%$&^**&!!!!!. My theory is that Eve didn't have to do whatever it is she planned and went through with in the first place if only someone from Asher's forsaken family had informed her of what the HECK was going on. Keeping the heroine in the dark is fun and mysterious for a book maybe a book and a half but stretching it out to 3 is pushing it way too far. I think I'll have to take another few months between this book and the next to calm myself down and forget about what idiots these characters are.

P.S. Had Gage not given Eve relevant information this book would have gotten 2 stars from me.

The Audio Book:

The narration was great! I had no issues with Jorjeana Marie's voice. All the characters are distinguishable from each other and there were no random background noises present in the audio recording.

.Eve is now trying to traverse her new supernatural world all without the assistance of her protector Ash and an old adversary is now temporarily in his place which Eve is far from happy about. One things I’ve noticed though is this series does feel very YA but at the same time it also has some spice so it’s not really suitable for younger readers.

Also I don’t know why everyone so hung up about Eve attending college it’s not like she has an ascension to plan for or anything. You’d think it would be the last thing to worry about especially when all sorts of supernaturals are gunning for you it doesn’t really make sense priority’s people.

Eve and Asher finally seal the deal which to be honest has been too long coming and the danger and war escalates leading Eve to make a decision that will mean her betraying those close to her all to keep the people she loves safe from harm.

At times I do find Eve to be a bit TSTL she makes rash choices that she hasn’t thought through and acts on emotion rather than looking at the bigger picture. So yeh she can be a tad immature but I’ve given her some leeway due to her young age.

Overall though I enjoyed this it’s very imaginative and does manage to keep my attention. Just be aware it does feel quite YA in nature.

Do you ever get the feeling sometimes that authors start out with a storyline and a set of characters and then about half way through decide - ah fkk it lets throw in some leprechauns and sorcerers? Yeah I'm getting that feeling with this series. I also believe that though angst can be good between 2 characters - having the angst as the driving purpose behind the story is just too much. I am now in Asher/Eve angst exhaustion. This book is just about them being unable to control themselves even though it is literally a death sentence for Asher. I can't relate to Eve at all and so am putting this series down now. Will see if I ever get the inkling to finish it... At this point, I doubt it.

I started it... and now I regret it.

I get that she is a teenage girl, but she has got to get a leash on those hormones. She supposedly "loves Asher, but she is panting after Gage. Literally.

Also, her declarations of love toward Asher are very Twilight-esque... but worse. She sounds like a 15-year-old trying to convince herself that her first crush is her lifelong love. I don't want to like Gage, but I respect him for his maturity. But, good God, I want to slap Eve. Like, really really bad.

Her entitled, bratty, "protect-me-now" attitude is ridiculous. Why doesn't she grow a brain and LEARN to protect herself?

I have to put this down... I just can't...
Maybe I'll come back to it... not likely, but maybe.

I received a review copy from the author in exchange of an honest review.

This was absolutely an amazing book! I haven't read very many fantasy books like this, but OMG this makes me want to dive into more. Randi Cooley Wilson has created such a profound world with such amazing characters. I have been drawn to this world from the beginning.

This book had me emotional for all the right reasons. Eve is now trying to figure things out without Asher around, but she is totally sucking at it. She's constantly thrown into danger and must find ways to beat it. Eve is just a strong heroine. She keeps pushing even though she has her moments of giving up.

Asher and Gage are just two awesome guys for very different reasons. If I had to pick, I would go with Asher just because I loved him from the beginning. The romance is fabulous as well.

Overall, this was freaking fantastic and will definitely be a re-read for me in 2015!

Review to come!

Update 1/15/15:

So I had a reading marathon yesterday, and started this book around 8 o'clock. I stayed up until 1:30 am to finish it because I simply couldn't put it down. It is that good. Ms. Wilson has managed to blow me away once again with her creativeness and ingenuity with this series. I can't even begin to express how much I loved every single part of this novel. I was laughing, swooning, and freaking out because of the major twists she threw at us. As always, the writing is absolutely phenomenal, and you will devour every single word. I never wanted this book to end, and when it did...well let's just say I was a bucket of emotions and wanted the next book right away.

This book picks up right where we left off in Restraint, but don't worry Asher fans, you won't have to wait too long for a reappearance from the ever loveable Asher. There are so many memorable scenes in this novel, one occurs within the first couple of chapters- when Eve and Gage visit the Land of Leprechauns. Trust me on this, it's hysterical and you will never look at leprechauns (or Lucky Charms) the same way again. However, my absolute favorite part of this novel is the characters and their development. Eve grows immensely in this novel, and I loved the way Gage handled her. He takes a much different approach to her protection (and her training), and I think it was very needed. He didn't baby her, which was a good thing even though Asher and clan are looking out for her. Eve stands up for herself more, and makes decisions that are bound to have many dire consequences. Asher is simply amazing, and I can never get enough of him. Seriously, the boy is sinfully delicious, and certain scenes featuring him and Eve are steamy to the extreme.

Callan is hilarious as ever, and Abby is just adorable. They are the perfect couple. I especially loved their bickering over ice cream flavors. Gage is sexy as ever, and while obviously epitomizing bad boy, we see a different side to him. We also see more from Keeghan in this novel, which I greatly appreciated, as we get more of an insight into his mind. We also meet some new characters, and see some familiar faces. Lunette is just hilarious. I loved the entire scene with her, and I hope she is the next books because she will have you cracking up!

This book is filled with twists and turns that you will never see coming. The ending will have you on a high and then send you crashing because of the events that transpire. There is a traitor in their midst, and I hope that it's not true. I really do. The novel ends on a cliffhanger, and the little snippet from the next book, Revolution, is just not enough. I can't wait to see what is going to happen now that certain events have been set in motion. I highly recommend this book to fans of the series, and if you haven't started this series...CHECK IT OUT NOW!!!

5+++++ stars

Happy reading :)

After being teased for so long, the sex finally happened...and it was anticlimactic. I still think Eve is an entitled idiot but the story is imaginative and fun.

Gage is my favorite. He’s the only one that doesn’t baby Eve. She NEEDS that. Desperately.

There was a few big bombshells in this book that mixed things up a bit & really put stress on both Asher & Eve... but I couldn’t help but get increasingly frustrated with them.

On the one hand they seem to be kinda selfish & Eve is a bit spoiled. While at the same time I get they want what they want, they love each other & have both been dealt a pretty sucky hand. I also forget that she’s 18 & human & this is all one big surprise for her. I also feel like Asher is just so intense. I would find him almost suffocating. Gage giving her some normal; runs in the park & getting drunk at a bar. This was so sweet & needed.

This kinda sums it up I guess & makes me a little more forgiving of her behaviour:

“Imagine for a moment that your entire life is turned upside down. You wake up one day to discover that you’re not who you thought you were. Your parents are not who they’re supposed to be, and suddenly, your friends are supernatural beings you didn’t even know existed except in dark fairy tales. That every new breath you take could be the last. Envision walking down the street past innocent people, knowing if you don’t accept your ascension, there’s no redemption for them. Consider how you would feel if your best friend was killed because of you, or that the person you love most in this life can’t be with you because of obligations that are not of your world. So forgive me for having a few shots of tequila last night and trying to just be . . . normal”

Another thing I appreciate is that It would have been easy to make Gage an alternate love interest. We get his flirting & her admiring of him a bit of a hotty but it doesn’t go further than that & that I find refreshing. Although I do love a good love triangle.

I’m not sure how I feel about Keegan. The lecture to both Asher & Eve was tough but at the same time I feel like he’s just looking out for & protecting Asher. Part of me however wonders what lengths he’s going to, to do that. Well I guess I’ll need to read the next book to find out.

I have to admit, I struggled getting into Redemption. I think that it mostly had to do with my anger at a missing Asher for awhile. I was having a very hard time warming up to Gage and feeling a little protective of Eve. So, fair warning, book 3 might make you a little bit. I lied. It will make you a lot mad.

There were so many jaw dropping moments that happened in this book. The ending of Redemption will definitely attest to that statement. I did not see several things coming; they completely blindsided me. I’m still a little in shock over this book….

Asher, as always, was as hot as ever. Again, I loved the scenes between Eve and Asher. The only thing that I would have asked for were some more sexy scenes between them. I kind of feel like they’ve been more controlled throughout the series. Yes, there are some really hot scenes in this book. However, I just want to see one of them just absolutely lose control. I want to see some steamy hotness just erupt from the pages.

Fair warning, there are some moments in this series that might bother some readers. Asher is very controlling and protective of Eve. Personally, I LOVE that! For some reason, his controlling manner is not bothering me at all (which it normally would.) I find it completely sexy.

This is such an amazing series. I finished this book in less than 24 hours. Go read this series now!

Eve finally gets what she wants in this book, and what the readers want as well, Asher. It was nice to see his more vulnerable side. And his jealousy of Gage was even more obvious in this book. The story continues to develop at what I thought was just the right pace. I was excited to see what was going to happen next and never felt like things dragged out too much. Plenty of angst and more UST made for a captivating read. The story built to the end and you could feel the tension rising as Eve came to a decision, but thank goodness I chose to read this book when the series was already complete. Otherwise the cliffhanger would've killed me, it was a wonderfully horrible place to end of story. I love love love Asher.

Eve's heart is broken, and now she has a new protector. She is left in a world of hurt and confusion but she still has her gargoyle family there to support and protect her.

Soon her world starts to come back together but she isn't sure what she can trust and who she can believe. She learns things that turn her world upside down while trying to fight off the demonic legion that is trying to destroy her.

I devoured this book as well, lets fact it, it only took me four days to read the whole series. As soon as I finished one I had to find out what happened. You will do the same.

Asher is back he must prove himself to Eve as well as protect her. Eve decides she must do the unthinkable to save someone she loves, the question remains if it will break her in the process.

Finally Eve slowly stops getting on my nerves as often. She has her moments but they are fewer she is growing and learning and starting to trust. The question is if that trust will be her downfall or her salvation.

Ok, yes, despite my inability to understand why I am so drawn to this series despite my annoyances with it, I am giving this five stars. I’m still bothered by some of my earlier gripes, but I do think the writing improved in this one. I am so unsure of what I make of Gage- I like him, and some of the times I am rooting for him... the ending? Well... took me by shock- going to start the next book now!

I feel like I need to make a pretty big disclaimer before I launch into my review of this book. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, and I read this without first reading the other books in the series that come before this one. This book is not a stand-alone, and I'm pretty sure I would be rating this book higher if I knew these characters, situations, and understood this world before reading this one. I think especially since this is a paranormal book, there is a certain amount of world building and some learning about different groups of characters that once in place, can allow the reader to have an unique and exciting reading experience. I write this review knowing that I would likely be in a different place if I'd read the first two books in the series. That said...

Eve has been separated from her protector and man she loves, Asher, and has now been given a new protector. This person is someone she doesn't trust, and she is obviously grieving the loss of Asher in her life. Once she allows herself to accept Gage as her protector, Eve comes to learn things that alters a lot of what she thought she knew about the world. She is angry about all the secrets being kept from her, and is continuing to try and train to be able to take care of herself in a variety of dangerous situations.

Again, I don't have all the background knowledge to fully appreciate what I know will be much more dramatic twists and turns for readers of this series. However, I was able to connect with these characters and their situations on some level, and found myself engaged in the story and wanting to know more about all of them. After reading this, I feel like I would like to go back and catch up with the first two (even though I will know some spoilers from this book), and then continue with the series. As I've mentioned, I don't recommend reading this as a stand alone, but I would recommend this series to people interested in a good paranormal romance.

New villains, new allies, and more secrets - one that is so devastating it makes Eve rethink everything she knows.

Redemption starts with Eve dealing with the aftermath of the council's decision; Asher is under investigation and temporarily removed as Eve's protector. Their separation is agony for Eve. Just when she starts putting herself together she learns she has a new protector: Gage.

Gage has a different approach to being a protector, he doesn't want to babysit, he wants Eve to think for herself, to be responsible for herself, to be not be the damsel in distress. I think it's exactly what she needs. In Redemption we get to see a bit more of Gage, his personality and his past, and the link their shared loss has created.

Asher returns - of course he returns, it's Asher! - and brings back all of the excitement and passion. I enjoyed seeing the deeper relationship between Asher and Even, physically and emotionally. They have to contend with trust and honesty and struggle to get to the same page with what they want from their relationship.

And that cliffhanger.... What? Huh? You can't leave me like that! I need book four, I have to know what happens next.

The first two books in the Revelation Series I rated 5 stars, so I was sad I had to drop this one down to 4. I had a strong love for Eve and Asher before reading Redemption, but now i'm pretty iffy on whether or not I want them to continue being an item. At this point Asher is exhibiting strong indications that he is abusive in relationships. I obviously understand he is her protector and therefore has to know where she is and what she is up to, but I have to draw the line when he starts making all of her decisions for her, and prevents her from talking to other males (i.e Gage and a few others). Any attraction I had for Asher is slowly vanishing. I did enjoy all of the plot twists though, it allowed me to be surprised the entire read.

Some other things I disliked about this book (which will contain major spoilers):

This series just keeps getting better!

WTH just happened?! When I started Redemption I thought this was the conclusion. I was wrong, but another book with Asher and Eve is so worth it.

This book was the best of all of them so far. This series just keeps getting better! I can't put into words how obsessed I am! My travel heart can't take it...when will we have book 4??

By the grace READ THIS SERIES!

I started reading this book as soon as I had finished reading the second book! I was really looking forward to reading it because the ending of the last book was left at quite an ending, so I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next! After reading this book, I can say that I really enjoyed it! The plot developed at the perfect pace and it kept me intrigued and wanting to read on! I also said in my review for the second book that I would have loved the last book to have focused more on the paranormal aspect, and I'm really happy that this book focused more on it! Secrets came out and the main character learned more about what she is and about her real family! The plot also had romance in it like the other books, but there wasn't as much romance in the beginning! I actually loved this because it gave the main character time to grow by herself and come to terms with her new life! The characters were again amazing and made this book even better! Eve was again the main character, and in this book she learned some secrets that had a big impact on her because they changed everything and Eve felt betrayed by the people closest to her! This did make me feel sorry for her, but she did come along way in this book and learned a lot! I really hope that she continues to grow in the remaining books because I would love to see her become a kick-ass character! Asher was again the love interest of Eve, but he wasn't in this book a lot at the beginning because of what happened at the end of the last book! He did come back into this book quicker than I was expecting and I did love him! He was very protective of Eve and he was more open with her and loving towards her in this book! Gage was in this book more though and he made a few appearances in the other books, so I was intrigued by him! I loved that Gage was in this book more because he was protective towards Eve, but he also wanted her to learn how to survive by herself! This book was only written from Eve's point of view, which didn't surprise me a lot because the other books were only written from Eve's point of view too! I enjoyed this book only being written from Eve's point of view, but I would have loved a few chapters to have been written from Asher's point of view too because they spent a bit of this book apart, so it would have been interesting to have followed what Asher did as well during this time! I was still able to connect with the other characters and plenty happened in the plot! I now can't wait to read the next book in this series! I'm really enjoying this series and I can't wait to find out how everything's going to develop and what's going to happen next for the characters! I'm definitely going to be making the next book my next read and the ending of this book has me excited to find out what's going to happen next! I also love the cover for this book a lot! It matches the covers for the other books in the series perfectly and it matches the feel of the book as well! I love that the cover doesn't have models on it too!

Soaring Up High

Redemption is my favorite book so far in the Revelation Series by Randi Cooley Wilson. I loved every single aspect of it: the romance, the action, and the new twists.

Eve continued to grow on me in this novel. I really liked her courage and character growth. She is far from the naive girl I met in Revelation. She is so sweet and spunky. Plus, her sailor mouth was so fun. Her and McKenna, one of the London Clan members, fights are so hilarious. However, Eve did annoy me at times. Her immaturity and carelessness did show. Plus, there were times that she did lie on numerous occasions. That really did annoy me because come on man, the clan is trying to protect you.

Asher continues to win me over. His declarations of love and sweet actions throughout this book made me love him even more. There were times though I did want to smack him in the head. He was so protective and boar headed that I felt he was suffocating Eve. But I understood where he was coming from.

The romance between Asher and Eve is one that is close to my heart. I love how they are taking the next steps of their relationship. There is so much steam. I also love the rawness of their love for each other. Asher’s most vulnerable moments made me love this boy so much more.

The secondary characters added much more to this book. One of my favorites is Gage. Gage is such a complex character. He is sometimes good and sometimes bad. In this book, there are things revealed about him that I would have never thought about. Even other villains and clan members such as Asher’s brothers, Callan and Keegan, really spiced up the suspense. The whole war looming on made it really cool.

The world building continues to improve. There wasn’t much world building in this book. It was focused more on the biggest twists revealed. Eve’s parentage and Asher’s true purposes are revealed. Some of them may shock you and Randi really did her magic.

Overall, this series continues to get better. I have no doubt that it will be one of my favorites. I definetly recommend all PNR lovers to grab this series immediately!

Type of read: Lunch/Weekend Read.

What made me pick it up: Suggested by a friend and coworker who is letting me borrow the series after they're done reading them.

Overall rating: Just a recap of my reviews from the first books in the Revelation series...For when you need a good book that doesn't completely ruin you, this is the series for you. It's low-pressure, low-stress, and slightly predictable content that can suck you in but doesn't overtake your day.

Okay, so all that aside, here's the thing with 'Redemption,' it absolutely started up right where I anticipated from the cliffhanger of book #2. I like the character development of Gage and I'm starting to hate Asher more and more. There are some surprises I absolutely wasn't expecting and some additional character development that weaves its way through the entire series and makes certain aspects of characters and plot make much more sense (and fills some previous holes). Although, I will say, the whole situation with Eve's parents seems like an easy way to just write of characters that Cooley Wilson wasn't sure what to do with. I do feel like the middle of the book got a bit muddy. Like, I'm not certain we had to dwell on some areas as much as we did. But overall, I'm still not mad at this series. I'm happier with this ending than I was with book #2. I very much like that Eve is finally getting some balls. Literally finished this book in two days, so I think that says something. If you can make it through some of the ridiculous writing and the portions that aren't fully thought out, I'd feel comfortable recommending this series...with some disclaimers.

Reader's Note: Redemption includes themes of death, dying, assault, torture, and sex. I'd also go so far as to say that the abuser/manipulation mentality is a lot stronger in 'Redemption' than it was in any of the previous books in the series. There are some uncomfortable scenes that should not be normalized. We get to like a particularly spicy jalapeno level of spice - there are some descriptive scenes ( ), a lot of 'good girls,' and clear sexual tension between multiple characters. There are also clear descriptors of how Asher got his piercing and what its benefits tend to be.
