The exciting Virtues and Valor serialized story continues with book 4.
MURIEL TOLSON grew up with all of the luxuries life could offer. As the daughter of a duke, she married the second son of an earl and lived in style on his family's estate. When her husband ships off to fight the Nazis in Africa, Muriel heeds his request to use her intelligence and language skills to help with the war effort. She approaches the British secret services and soon finds herself recruited into an experimental all female cohort dubbed the Virtues, a collection of seven extraordinary women with highly specialized skills.
Assigned the code name of PRUDENCE, her natural French allows her to infiltrate Occupied France where she works as a courier; carrying messages, money, and sometimes people through the secret resistance network aiding the allies to accomplish very dangerous missions behind enemy lines.
When Nazis capture the agent code named TEMPERANCE, the team shucks previously laid plans and fast-forwards operational timelines. Is the team ready for this daring mission, or will the Third Reich thwart their plans before they can even get started?
A PARCEL FOR PRUDENCE is part four of seven serialized novellas entitled the Virtues and Valor series.
Seven valorous women — different nationalities, ethnicities, and social backgrounds — come together as a team called the Virtues.
In 1941 Great Britain a special war department assembles an experimental and exclusively female cohort of combat operatives. Four willing spies, a wireless radio operator, an ingenious code breaker, and a fearless pilot are each hand-picked, recruited, and trained to initiate a daring mission in Occupied France. As plans are laid to engineer the largest prison break of Allied POWs in history, the Nazis capture the Virtues' radio operator. It will take the cohesive teamwork of the rest of the women to save her life before Berlin breaks her and brings the force of the Third Reich to bear.
Some find love, some find vengeance, and some discover the kind of strength that lives in the human heart when all they can do is rely on each other and their shared belief. Courage, faith, and valor intersect but, in the end, one pays the ultimate price.
Introducing the Virtues and Valor series by Hallee Bridgeman. Seven serialized novellas, each inspired by real people and actual events, reveal the incredible story of amazing heroines facing the ultimate test of bravery.
With nearly a million book sales, USA Today bestselling author Hallee Bridgeman writes action-packed romantic suspense focusing on realistic characters who face real-world problems. Her work has been described as everything from refreshing to heart-stopping exciting and edgy.
An Army brat turned Floridian, Hallee and her husband finally settled in central Kentucky so they could enjoy the beautiful changing of the seasons. Hallee’s oldest daughter is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, her middle son struggles as a hexagonal “autism spectrum” peg in this round world, and her youngest son fills the house with wooshes and bangs as he fights imaginary bad guys while wearing a Spiderman costume and wielding a Ninja sword.
When she’s not penning novels, you will find her in the kitchen, which she considers the ‘heart of the home’. Her passion for cooking spurred her to launch a whole food, real food “Parody” cookbook series. In addition to nutritious, Biblically grounded recipes, readers will find that each cookbook also confronts some controversial aspect of secular pop culture.
Hallee has served as the Director of the Kentucky Christian Writers Conference, President of the Faith-Hope-Love chapter of the Romance Writers of America, is a member of the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW), and the American Christian Writers (ACW), and Novelists, Inc. (NINC). An accomplished speaker, Hallee has taught and inspired writers around the globe, from Sydney, Australia, to Dallas, Texas, to Portland, Oregon, to Washington, D.C., and all places in between.
Hallee loves coffee, campy action movies, and regular date nights with her husband. Above all else, she loves God with all of her heart, soul, mind, and strength; has been redeemed by the blood of Christ; and relies on the presence of the Holy Spirit to guide her. She prays her work here on earth is a blessing to you and would love to hear from you. You can reach Hallee at hallee@halleebridgeman.com
This is the 4th book in the series and once again it focuses on one of the special members of a secret group. Trained and then sent over into occupied France to serve as a secret currier for the underground operations there, “Prudence” must not only pass secret information, but use all her wits to help when Temperance is captured by the Nazis and must be rescued. Well told and interesting, this story kept me turning pages until I reached the end.
The beginning of the story does have a rather intense scene of torture for the main character during training, but it doesn’t last too long.
Just be warned though, this story doesn’t end at the end. All 8 books are needed for fully wrap up the story. It’s like each book is a spoke in the wheel giving you a little more of the ending than you had before, but not all of it.
Again, one of my favorite parts was the short biographical sketch of a real woman during WWII who served in much the same way as the character in this story did.
The beginning of this one was intriguing and hooked me in.
The transition between the prologue and chapter one was too abrupt, with no new date or location given until chapter two. I didn’t feel grounded in the story in chapter one at all.
Shortly after that, I became frustrated by the lead. She was weak and weepy but claimed to be tough. That didn’t work for me at all. It was also strange that she would ask forgiveness for “taking an innocent life” when the guy who assaulted her (attempted rape) was not innocent in his actions against her. She was the innocent one, but her prayer made her out to be the bad guy.
The ending was abrupt and in the middle of the climax again.
I did somewhat enjoy this book, but the above things frustrated me.
Triggers: attempted rape and subsequent prayer for forgiveness for killing her assailant, but worded as “an innocent life”
A Parcel for Prudence is the fourth novella in Hallee Bridgeman’s Virtues And Valor series. The novella are set in Europe during World WarII The Virtues were the code names for a group of women from different countries used to fight the Nazis. Each Virtue had to remain anonymous to the others so they would not know any information that could be obtained if caught and tortured. But they were still able to meet and pray together. The stories are based on real women and their assignments. Muriel Tolson is the daughter of a duke. Her husband is the second son of an earl. Muriel is use to living a life of luxury. Besides her intelligence and language skills she lacks everyday skills such as making her own coffee, doing laundry, cooking meals, etc. Her husband is going to fight in Africa. He encourages her to use the talents she has to help in the war effort. Muriel joins the Resistance. She is given the code name of Prudence. She is put through vigorous training. She is sent to France as a piano tuner and instructor. This enables her to get into the homes of the influential. Her main duty with the Resistance is to be a courier of messages and money to aide the allies to accomplish the behind enemy lines. Her job is dangerous as at any moment she could lose her life. The true heroine of this story is Cecile Pearl Witherington. At the end of the book there are question that can be used as a bible study. This section also includes photos and descriptions of the vehicles and airplanes used in this period. In addition this section included a translation key for the foreign phrases and words used in the story. Thank you to bookfun.org for this eBook. My opinion is my own.
While I felt like book three in the series laid a lot of groundwork, this book, A Parcel for Prudence book four, took off from the ground running. We barely meet Muriel, codenamed Prudence, before her husband is off on the battlefront after encouraging Muriel to use her brains to help the Resistance. Next thing we know,Muriel (Prudence) is in a terrible interrogation, battling to keep secrets and her life. Then we find out that was just a "friendly" practice.
The action just goes on from there, never letting up as Prudence enters France as a courier of information, money, and sometimes people. What an hair-raising, blood-pressure rocket this novella turned out to be!!
One quote that describes accurately the mood of occupied France shortly after the Nazis occupation begins: "God forsook from France when the Nazis devils moved in. Make no mistake, Prudence, you've arrived in Hell!" Fortunately, Prudence and her team rely on faith in God and their training to combat the forces of evil.
So glad I've got the next volume ready to go. Waiting would be a killer! I received this book from bookfun.org in exchange for an honest review.
A Parcel for Prudence by Hallee Bridgeman Starts with dedication page to the group of women and prologue about the start of Muriel and how she came into the group. This story starts out with Muriel (Prudence) and it's her birthday and her parents are coming to pay a visit and they believe along with her husband that she can be of benefit to the cause. She's in high society and has others wait on her so they decide to put her through training. Hated to hear of the interrogation practices but she was strong enough to complete that and how to cook. They send her off to occupied France where she meets up with many other sisters and she is a big help as a courier. Like how everything is the same for all the stories, they end up in the plane. Lots of worship for God to help her through the turmoil. Story ends with inspired by real events and how the story came to be, pictures along the way showing what is described, British and Scottish words and phrases translated, French words and also German ones. Period vehicles are shown and described. Character lists and a summary of each of the other books in this series. Reader's guide and questions for discussion, excerpt from A Parcel for Prudence. A PARCEL FOR PRUDENCE is the fourth in the Virtues and Valor series by Hallee Bridgeman and wow talk about a wild ride.
I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, And find out knowledge and discretion. Prov. 8:12 NKJV pg. 5
The story opens with Prudence facing interrogation: bright lights, dry throat, cracked lips, tongue like sandpaper, pulsating headache behind eye, face plunged into ice cold water, strong hands painfully gripping shoulders, hard punch just under rib cage before submerging her face in cold water once again. And then we read on to discover, this is a training session by the 'good' guys.
"Prudence, you have proven to be one of our top recruits,” Lieutenant Colonel Donald Hendricks said, all traces of the German interrogator gone. “I confess I was one of those who objected to our bringing women on board for this type of work. Messy and risky, after all. All manner of ghastly things the Jerrys could do to a girl, after all. But it’s you and a few others in your class who are making me rethink my original opinion. I’ve seen men break in half the time we spent with you.” pg. 13
Muriel, is the third daughter of a Duke and her husband, Joseph Tolson, the son of an Earl. They own property, have many servants and therefore need to do very little for themselves. How can they possibly be of service in the war effort? But before leaving to do his part, Joseph had encouraged his wife to do more for the war effort than just roll bandages, but being of higher class, always taken care of, she really wasn't sure what she could offer, but her husband had an answer ready.
“Listen to me, darling. There are few women in this world who are as capable as you. Go to London and find someone to talk to. Tell them you’re fluent in French and German. You and I both know they’re desperate for help so that they can relieve the men to go fight...They’ll quit seeing the beautiful face and start seeing that beautiful brain soon enough.” pg. 14
And if that isn't enough to get her moving, he reminds her of God given gifts, and why He has bestowed them on her.
...“God gifted you, my love. You and I both know He does that for a reason. Go and find a way to help. The more who pitch in, the more poor slobs like me get to come home safe and sound when this awful war is finally over. Promise me, now.” pg. 14
So how does Muriel end up in this group of 7?
"When their leader, Major Charlene Radden, interviewed each woman who came into the organization, she assigned them to their groups. Part of the interview process involved questions of religious beliefs. Muriel knew that her open and abiding faith in God is what placed her on the Virtues Team. She remained ever thankful to God that Charlene placed her here. She did not know how she could have survived the last several months of training, coupled with constantly worrying about Joseph’s unit in North Africa, without having these sisters in Christ to rely upon.
Over the course of several months, the team on which she’d been placed had grown very close. They worked well together, they prayed together, and they held an almost daily Bible study together." pg. 18
Muriel's code name: PRUDENCE - a) careful good judgment that allows one to avoid danger or risks: skill in the use of resources: ability to govern and discipline oneself by the use of reason, sagacity, or shrewdness. b) historically referred to as auriga virtutum (the charioteer of the heavenly virtues); guides the other heavenly virtues as one of the "cardinal" virtues. pg. 9
In the short time these ladies are together, they share much, without sharing the details of their lives which could be detrimental to the others' well being should they ever be captured. But they do carry on like old gal pals, whom have known each other for ever.
Prudence and Temperance board a plan for France together, piloted by Faith, and are dropped into a dark field many hours later. There they are picked up by intimidating French men and delivered to their contact, Praetorian. She recognizes this man, a friend of her husband's from Oxford and her mind begins to wonder on how he ended up here vs. in uniform like Joseph.
He is straight to the point asking names, and jobs to be performed. Once fed, he sends Temperance on her way to get set up in her job, and when she is gone, turns to Muriel and lets it be known he recognizes her and can't believe she is here. It is a death sentence. She has arrived in hell.
Muriel has always been taken care of, so even making coffee in the morning is a challenge for her, even though this was part of her training before heading into the field. Her cover for this mission: piano instructor. But first, she will install a listening device at the home of a Nazi General, which will give them ears to most everything said around this piano, down at the pharmacy where the receiver was installed. Contact made, the job had begun.
"For nearly eight weeks now, having assumed the guise of a piano instructor, she’d carried money, information, and occasionally people, to various locations throughout her sector of Occupied France. The longer she performed this job, the more rebels and operatives she came in contact with, and the more dangerous her job became." pg. 30
More messages are received and delivered from this pharmacy, and Abiel, Matthew and Grace now arrive to carry out their portion of this mission.
While out on a drop off, have successfully completed it, she is followed and cornered by a "a man in a German Wehrmacht uniform" pg. 31, in a dead end street with no one around to help and no weapon to use. What will she do? Will she escape to complete her needed part in the mission? Will she be captured and face a real interrogation? There is so much more to this story, so pick it up and read it for yourself. You'll be glad you did.
You will learn about Cécile Pearl Cornioley (ne: Witherington), whose life this story is based upon. Quite the interesting read, as all have been but even more so when you see what this young lady came from. You will find the translation key as well as reader's guide, and a great section on the planes and cars of that period. Definitely worthwhile checking out. So much to see in this novella. Pick it up today.
Thank you to bookfun.org for this book in exchange for my honest review.
I just finished reading Hallee Bridgeman's series "Virtues and Valor". Its an 8 book series (long novella) and I read all of them in 3 days. I couldn't put them down. They are a group of unique women chosen for a special team during WWII. They are a Christian team with special skills. Each book in the series is about one of the team and their special skills.
Each one will be putting their lives on the line. The books are page turners, will touch you emotions and even had me crying. I have dry eyes so its not easy to bring me to tears running down my cheek and sniffling. Highly recommend this series.
No one asked me to leave this review and all opinions are my own. Highly recommend anything by Hallee Bridgeman. I've never been disappointed.
I read Book 4 in the Virtues and Valor series. I love how the Author interweaves the previous books in with this one yet it can also be considered a stand-a-lone book. Muriel code name Prudence comes from an influential family so it was surprising to see her even participating in the war but thank God for God and the wisdom of her husband who told her to fight the war because she was more than just a pretty face but she has brains too knowing different languages. She is very instrumental by being a Currier for the British operatives on the ground. She proves herself to be more than just a British house wife but a soldier in her own right. I highly recommend this book and the previous books in the series.
Wow! What a story. This book--as well as each short novella in the Virtues series--is exciting and very hard to put down. While the story is fictional, Ms. Bridgeman ends the book with facts that each book is based on--real life heroes and events as well as photos. I wish we were taught with this kind of insight in school in World History class! Amazing bravery and stories! My only disappointment is that the book stops abruptly, and I need to buy the next book to hopefully read of the heroine's fate. I would have given the book 5 stars if not for the cliffhanger. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this book.
Muriel with the encouragement of her husband, becomes Prudence in the war effort. The story begins with her being in the lap of luxury. To next being interrogated, sitting in a slip, and then face thrusted into ice cold water. Trying to break her, to find out this was just practice. With heart pounding, one wonders why she would want to do this.Thiis was a plot filed with missions, and freeing prisoners, and so much could go wrong. Based on true facts, the history Hallee has woven into a story, is priceless.
No fair leaving cliffhanger like that. Now I have to immediately go start the next book of course. I should’ve known that if I started a Bridgeman series, I would have to take a few days off from life. Ha ha. But seriously, I absolutely adore this extended story through episodes for a series, and its connection with history.
The fourth story in the ‘Virtues and Valor’ series by Hallee Bridgeman is A Parcel for Prudence, and my favorite so far. This series is set in WWII Europe, and the heroines are based on real women who served in unique and specially-trained teams in the war. Muriel Tolson, code-named Prudence, endured unbelievable training rigors, as did many of the women in the ‘Virtues and Valors’ series. She and her family were dedicated to defeating their enemy and winning the war; her husband encouraged her to join the war effort due to her intelligence and talent with speaking and understanding other languages. Helping to win this was vital to her and her family, and she was willing to go the distance to provide honorable service in hopes of being reunited with her husband, who also was serving in the military. Her background as the daughter of a Duke, daughter-in-law of an Earl, had not prepared her, however, for the task she had as a courier for a team in France. The danger was immense; her capture would absolutely mean her death. I could not have done the things that she did; isn’t it wonderful how the Lord gives each of us different gifts? As a courier, Prudence worked hard and had to think on her feet. Only her faith in the Lord and her ongoing relationship with Him could help her in her journeys. Leaving the group of Virtues, with whom she had shared Bible study and prayers almost daily, had helped prepare her in ways even she might not be aware of. Her ‘cover’ as a piano instructor and tuner helped her get into some of the most influential homes in France and, just as Temperance learned as a seamstress (cover), rich women would discuss almost anything in front of the hired help, probably assuming they couldn’t understand or care about the conversations. Muriel was described by Grace as the strongest woman she knew, and she was definitely shown to be courageous and wise. I appreciated her strength found in Christ, as well as her thoughts of what life would be like when the war ended. Seeing each of the Virtue’s thoughts and prayers demonstrated each character, and Muriel was no exception. A woman of noble birth with depth of concern for others and for her family, and lack of complaining about their deprivation, she is certainly a heroine and a unique model of the Proverbs 31 woman! As with each of the other stories in the series, each one ended too quickly! And each one ends at a particularly frightening point where it is almost painful to read the last page. It was definitely interesting to read about the woman on whom this story was based. The questions for discussion, definitions, and plane and car descriptions were also enlightening that helped understand the stories more. This would be a great series for teens to read who have few, if any, true role models today. I highly recommend it to women of all ages, and teens, who are interested in Christian WWII fiction that is well-researched. Halle Bridgeman captures the mind and heart in a way that encourages women in their faith and lives. With a grateful heart, I received a copy of this book through the “For Readers Only” group at The Book Club Network, in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own, and no monetary compensation was received for this review.

A Parcel for Prudence, book 4 of the Virtues and Valor Series. It just keeps going and going and getting better and better. What a wonderful series. These characters truly do come to life on the page. And the ability of the author to continue to interweave these stories, is such a wonderful bonus. As each book unfolds, we are introduced to a new “Virtue”, her life and her mission as part of the team.
This is another wonderfully written novella by author Hallee Bridgeman. You will love this series…. Though I would recommend that you read all of the books, in order.

I can't imagine myself in Prudence's shoes. Muriel Tolson, a wealthy aristocrat, eager to be a part of a WWII spy unit became a courier codenamed Prudence, delivered messages, money and supported the cause in occupied France. Her husband encouraged her to do this before he left for North African. She learned how to drive a car, cook and run long distance in order to fit the part of a French national. Her cover was a music teacher since she was proficient. I know I would not do well with the torture techniques she was put through in Britain, in order to face Nazi interrogation if she were captured.
The friendships, adventure and sheer courage of the women in the Virtues unit is remarkable. Especially since this series is based on real-life women from WWII.
Hallee Bridgeman has done a remarkable job researching and writing this novella series. Each one is fast-paced, full of surprises and plunges the reader right into the middle of a spy network. Each novella interweaves the seven women's storylines and progressively continues the big-picture plot. I like seeing the journey from seven different viewpoints.
I received a complimentary book from The Book Club Network at bookfun.org in exchange for my honest review.
Muriel Tolson, the daughter of a duke and married to the second son of an earl, is fluent in both French and German which helps her pose as Murielle St. Pierre, a piano teacher in occupied France in 1941. She is the code-named Prudence who trained with the group of seven Christian women known as the Virtues Team in England. In France she works with a friend of her husband’s whose code name is Praetorian as she delivers and receives messages. Her life in luxury has not prepared her for all she must endure as a simple French woman in a German occupied country in war time; she must rely on prayer. This gripping story is not complete without reading the other parts of the Virtues and Valor Series beginning with Temperance’s Trial and ending with Flight of Faith. You will want to read all seven of the novellas, starting with Temperance’s Trial. Read about Cecile Pearl Witherington the true heroine that this story is based upon in the “Inspired by Real Events” section at the end. The book also includes questions appropriate for a book study, a translation key of foreign words and phrases and photos of the actual period vehicles used in the novella. I received the book from the author by way of The Book Club Network (bookfun.org) in exchange for an honest review.
A Parcel for Prudence is the 4th novella in the fictional Virtues and Valor Serialized Novel by Hallee Bridgeman. Yes, you want to read the first 3 books first.
Muriel, aka the Virtue code-named Prudence, has joined the Resistance at her husband's request. Her faith automatically makes her a part of the specialized women's team that takes part in the largest prison break of World War II. Prudence plays the role of courier, putting her life on the line as she not only carries important messages and parcels to Resistance Forces, but also enters homes of the enemy to plant bugs and collect information.
Will Prudence make it through the operation unscathed or will she be discovered from the beginning? Will the brutalities of war break her or make her stronger?
Each novella builds on the last and as the story unfolds, the tension heightens. A Parcel for Prudence will have you flipping pages anxiously as race toward a heart pounding conclusion.
**Received a free copy in exchange for my opinion.
A Parcel for Prudence is the fourth novella in the Virtues and Valor series written by the talented spirit filled author, Hallee Bridgeman. Each fictional heroine in these novellas is based on a real life woman during The French Resistance against the Germans during World War II. The character Prudence in this novella is based on real life heroine, Cécile Pearl Witherington. At the end of A Parcel for Prudence, Hallee has written several pages informing the reader of this lady. The intensity of chapter 1 had me sitting on the edge of my seat, and I couldn't wait to finish the story. Prudence is the code name for Muriel Tolson who is of the aristocratic society in Great Britain with her husband being the son of an Earl. With her husband fighting in Africa, she becomes a member of the Virtues and Valor group of women that have offered their lives to travel to France to secretly "fight" the Germans using their God given talents. Giving up the luxuries she is accustomed to having, Prudence valiantly faces hardships and danger to deliver secret messages among the enemy. Her trust in God gives her the strength to face possible capture or death in her endeavors.
Part 4 of the Virtues and Valor Series continues with the spying, excitement, and suspense. A Parcel for Prudence, Part 4 of the Virtues and Valor Series, introduces us more thoroughly to the 4th spy, Muriel Tolson, codenamed Prudence. Prudence infiltrates Occupied France under the guise of a piano teacher as she works the dangerous mission as a courier. I love how each book ties the women together at the espionage training grounds in Britain, prior to their individual assignments, with friendships being formed. In each book, new characters are developed in detail and we continue learning more about people involved in the Resistance movement we were formerly introduced to in the prior books.
Hallee Bridgeman packs so much action into these serialized novellas that you are literally on the edge of your seat with the nail biting suspense. If you love historical fiction inspired by historical people and events that includes stark bravery of heroes and heroines, you will be inspired by this series.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher, through The Book Club Network (bookfun.org) in exchange for my honest review.
Lady Muriel Tolson has never cooked a meal, driven a car, washed her own clothes, or even gotten out of bed early. Now, with her husband’s encouragement she has become a member of The Virtues an elite group of women dedicated to the defeat of Nazi Germany. “Prudence’s” social skills along with the fact that she is fluent in both French and German make her invaluable as a member of this team. She will be flown into France and will function as a courier for the Resistance. In so doing, Muriel/Prudence feels she has found the calling to which she was born. Hopefully, she will advance the Allied cause and save lives along the way. This is the fourth installment of The Virtues and Valor series – all stories of brave women who risk their lives to aid the Allied cause. Each woman comes from a different background and each has a different calling. While each novella is short, it is full of adventure and excitement. The reader will have to read all seven novellas to complete the story. The information provided by the author about the real women of WWII is fascinating. I received this from The Book Club Network
Muriel Tolson, code name Prudence, is the character that takes center stage in this part of the serialized novel. She is as well developed as the main characters in each previous part. Her background is just as clearly presented. I connected with her just as much as I did with the others. Early on in this novella there is a horrible scene where Muriel is tortured. The description of it was so detailed that it both made my heart race and ache for what she endured.
The rest of the story is very well written. I enjoyed seeing a few of the things that happened during Temperance’s Trial told now from Prudence’s view point. It really is adding more depth to the overall story that is being told. I am really looking forward to reading the other three parts of this serialized novel.
I received a free eBook copy of this novella through The Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.
A Parcel for Prudence is the fourth novella in this outstanding series of Virtues and Valor written by the very talented and gifted author Hallee Bridgeman. As in the other three segments there is suspense, excitement, danger, courage and much more. Muriel Tolson code name Prudence works under cover as a piano teacher. She comes from an aristocratic society who has never lacked anything. Muriel's husband is he son of an Earl and is stationed in Africa. She faces many dangerous missions as a courier behind the enemy lines. She carries messages, money and helps with some of the operations of the war such as the bombing of a bridge and train. As in the first three novellas this one has you on the edge of your seat and you don't want to put it down until you have finished. A great story based on the life of real women. You will love it.
I received a free copy of this oopk from bookfun.org for my honest opinion and review.
This a series about 7 different women, each from different backgrounds and ethnicities. Each woman is blessed with different skills . Each novella is tied with the rest and inspired by a real woman that served during WWII and she is discussed at the end of each story. Muriel Tolson is code named Prudence, she is a courier. Prudence carries messages, money and sometimes people on very dangerous missions behind enemy lines. She is always in danger of being captured and is very good at what she has trained to do. I enjoyed reading this story of a truly amazing woman and brave courier . I was gifted a copy by the author and The BookClub Network (bookfun.org) for review and my honest opinion, which I have given.
A Parcel for Prudence in the fourth installment in the Virtues and Valor series. I am really enjoying this compelling series! The seven serialized novellas share incredible stories of service and sacrifice and each one leaves me anxious for the next!
“Seven valorous women — different nationalities, ethnicities, and social backgrounds — come together as a team called the Virtues. Some find love, some find vengeance, and some discover the kind of strength that lives in the human heart when all they can do is rely on each other and their shared belief. Courage, faith, and valor intersect but, in the end, one pays the ultimate price.”
I received a complimentary copy of this book through The Book Club Network in exchange for an honest review, which I have given.
This is the 4th novella in the Virtues and Valor Series. If I didn't read this one in bed, I'd have said it kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put this story down once I started it! Muriel is a bit like royalty, and her husband is already sent to war. Before he leaves, he suggests that she find a way to help in the war effort. She's placed in the Virtues group based on her religious beliefs, and given the code name Prudence. Her job as courier is a bit risky, and she draws the attention of a drunken Nazi solider who comes to a bad end. Will she be found out? You have to read for yourself!
Even better than the previous novella! As the fourth in the series this novella really gives more depth to the characters and the situation they are in – in German occupied France. As in the previous ones, this story tells of the training time the women from the Virtues are together as well as when they split to go to their assignments. Like the others, it ends in a cliff hanger which leaves me wanting to read the next one immediately! I love the notes at the end which tell the real life story of the woman on whom the novella is loosely based. Great book! I highly recommend it! This is book 4 of this series! I just can't stop reading them!! World history has always interested me and Hailee Bridgeman does an awesome job of bringing it alive along with her faith in God showing through! WWII was no picnic and fighting the injustices that were being committed against anyone that Hitler deemed inferior was a fight that needed to be won! The author took real persons that fought this war and brought them to life with back stories that make a reader feel like they are fighting and rooting along side each character! Women that otherwise would have been sidelined were joined together to fight the good fight! Love this series!
A Parcel For Prudence Just when you think the cliffhangers can't get any more surprising here comes A Parcel For Prudence. Muriel, “Prudence”, is the courier in the Virtues and has the most dangerous job of all. Her faith is what gets her through even in the face of Nazi soldiers and she bravely gathers information when she can. Hallee Bridgeman knows how to hook her readers and keep them turning the pages!

A Parcel for Prudence is the fourth book in the Virtues and Valor series. This fiction novella is based on the life of a heroine during World War II. Prudence acts as a courier for the spies in France. Prudence’s story includes a bridge/train bombing and a prison break. Very exciting! As with each of the other stories, this is a cliff hanger and you will be waiting for the next book to see if they make it back to England safely.
