'Yukito Ayatsuji' is the original creator of Another. He is a famous writer of mystery and Japanese detective fiction. He is also one of the writers that demands restoration of the classic rules of detective fiction and the use of more self reflective elements. He is married to Fuyumi Ono, author of The Twelve Kingdoms and creator of Ghost Hunt, Juuni Kokuki, and the author for a few other manga.
Really fun all-around. It sports one of the most interesting backstories in the series so far, the atmosphere is great all around, and there's some really fun, spectacle-like stuff in it - no wonder so many people love it the most out of this series. I also liked it a lot, but might still prefer Labyrinth House overall for its absolutely batshit insane trick. Still, Clock House is a tour de force and I'm hoping the upcoming new Yakata drama series adapts this book specifically. It'd be really great to see some scenes in here adapted to the screen.
Book two of a two-part novel. I finished both in four days but I felt rather unsatisfied with the end. This is the tenth book I am reading from this author but I think his “tricks” are becoming rather repetitive. It was a page turner, nevertheless. Japanese detective fiction remain my escapist genre when I need to turn the brain off.
