Remember, true love isn't just for fairy tales . . . The Traveling Kind
Charley Collins could use a hired hand around her Idaho ranch--but is six-foot-something, too-handsome-for-his-boots Shad Russell the right man for the job? Charley's about to find out that when it comes to women, the rangy cowboy has an ace up his blue denim sleeve: Shad's kisses are hotter than wildfire.
Dakota Dreaming
Edie Gibbs knew she was taking a big chance when she bought a South Dakota ranch . . . complete with tumbledown fences and a barn that looks like a meteor hit it. The pretty young widow and single mom is determined to make her own way in the world. And if sexy Will Maddock, the owner of the neighboring Diamond D ranch, intends to get in her way, he'd better step aside.
Janet Anne Haradon Dailey was an American author of numerous romance novels as Janet Dailey (her married name). Her novels have been translated into nineteen languages and have sold over 300 million copies worldwide.
Born in 1944 in Storm Lake, Iowa, she attended secretarial school in Omaha, Nebraska before meeting her husband, Bill. In 1974, Janet Dailey was the first American author to write for Harlequin. Her first novel was NO QUARTER ASKED.
She had since gone on to write approximately 90 novels, 21 of which have appeared on the New York Times Bestseller List. Janet Dailey passed away peacefully in her home in Branson on Saturday, December 14, 2013. She was 69.
Both of these books are extremely dated in romance tropes and so problematic they bleed red flags. The only reason it's getting 2 stars instead of 1 is that the grammar and sentences actually make sense and there aren't a lot of typos or mistakes of that nature. But I would not recommend this to anyone looking for a romance with healthy relationships.
This is a 2 for 1 book. The Traveling Kind was about a brother and sister ranchers in Idaho. Needing help on the ranch because her brother had broken his leg, Charley Collins hires a drifter, Shad Russell that she meets in the local cafe. Of course, he's handsome and an excellent ranch hand. Their relationship blossoms into romance, but he is a drifter and he leaves her in the lurch. He returns and all is forgiven................Happy ending!! Dakota Dreaming is about widow Edie Gibbs and her stepson and daughter. Her deceased husband has left her a fair amount of money and income from his inventions. She decides to follow a dream and buy a ranch in South Dakota. Will Maddock, rancher next door, has been trying to buy the property she has just aquired. Something about this man has stirred up more than a fleeting interest in Edie heart. After a stolen kiss..........things progress...............seems like a wedding is in the near future. I, always, like a happy ending.
