Alright. I like the series and am committed to finishing but sometimes Jade is really whiney.

I don’t read this series regularly because I move around a lot, but what I love about it is the way the characters are written and how well their lives are documented. I can step back in at any time and easily slide right back into their world. The characters are set in a city known around the world, which also makes it easy to remember.
I enjoy the main characters, Jade and Kane, because they seem well-suited for each other. Their friends and colleagues also fit nicely into their lives for the most part, though there is often a disruptive character present.
Newlyweds Jade Calhoun and Kane Rouquette have just said “I do” when a disturbance in the shadow world begins draining the energy of angels. As shadow walkers, Jade and Kane are thrust into an impossible mission to solve the mystery before any angels are lost. The challenge escalates when Kane is accused of poisoning the shadows with his incubus energy, leading to the stripping of his powers.
Things go from bad to worse when a lesser goddess appears, determined to steal the spirits of mortals in her quest for a fountain of youth. Now it’s up to Jade and her coven to keep their friends safe, clear Kane’s name, and fix the shadows before one of them is lost forever.
The narrator, Trace Odom, does an excellent job of giving each character their own voice, which provides insight into their personalities. This entry in the series effectively moves the story along and offers glimpses of what lies ahead.

And the hits just keep coming. (Not talking music here)
Jade and Kane are trying to celebrate their marriage when they get called to find out what is happening to some angels. When they go to check on a problem they become.... well no spoilers lets just say the Angel in Charge drags the newlyweds into finding out who is responsible and fixing the problems.
One problem leads to another and too often they are life or soul or friend threatening. What will it cost to rescue all? What will they find out while they try to save others? What will it cost them? One thing we know, the white witch and incubus hunter team will do whatever it takes.
I enjoy seeing their friends help when they can and the support the whole group provides is wonderful. There are plenty of surprises for the reader and as always in this series--never a dull moment and plenty of steam. (What do you expect with an incubus for a husband?)

I have really enjoyed this series. Though I found out the hard way it is definitely best read in order.
(In case you didn't know there are a couple novellas intertwined throughout the series.)
I loved that this book made Kane as big a player as Jade has always been.
I find it extremely interesting that they both seem to grow in new and unusual ways and still seem to keep rolling with the next thing that comes their way.
I love that the evolution of ALL the characters is first and foremost. I really enjoy that in some cases we're finding out amazing facts right along with the characters themselves.
Looking forward to seeing how the other coven will continue to fit into the Jade circle.

This story is about many things going on at the same time. Angels are getting hurt, strange happenings at Kane’s club and more. Jade and Kane are off doing another investigation for Chessandra and strange things are going on in the shadows. Kane is going through some unusual stuff and Jade is trying to save some of her friends as well as help Kane. Demons are up to no good and there is a surprise element as well. Such an excellent story which will keep you riveted right up until the end where an unusual twist will be revealed. I recommend this book and the entire series!

Incubus of Bourbon Street is the 6th book of Deanna Chase's Jade Calhoun series. I guess you could say the series is urban paranormal mystery. I read this in one day. The book was so chock full of action, I couldn't put it down because I had to see what was going to happen next. There are witches, demons, angels, incubi, spirits, mediums, a couple of regular humans, and even a lower goddess in the action. If you enjoy the paranormal genre, you'll love this series!

Pay attention, Jade!
It amazes me that after all the crap that Jade has been through that when odd things happen to the people she love she just ignore it. Like it's truly hilarious, best friend acting missing but hey maybe her phone died?!
Jade really just irritate me sometimes like girl please pay attention when things are weird!
I need her to get smarter and wiser cause I'm not allowing her not practicing for years to be excusable any longer.

It's been a while since I had checked in with jade and Kane but I picked right up where I left off and I'm so glad I did. This installment is full of romance, action, the paranormal and I wouldn't have it any other way. I can't wait to see what happens next. Plus, my favorite character, Pyper gets a little more into the action this time and I loved it!

That book was all sorts of amazing! Crazy how I went from hating Laila's guts to, after this book, seriously loving her.
And Pyper!!! And Jade becoming more and more powerful, and the lovely Bea. And Kane and his family's past.
There was so much action! I love that there are now many unresolved affairs left pending for the next book, too! Not a cliffhanger, just pending matters.

Audiobook review: Action, action, and romance make for an entertaining story! Jade & Cain are back to fight off another foe. The storyline is interesting and entertaining. The narrator did a fantastic job! I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Trouble seems to find its way to Jade and Kane it seems. The trouble was fun, and finding out the little family history of Kane was very interesting. The story was steamy as well as the newlyweds have a hard time of keeping their hands off each other.
The narrator’s voice was easy to follow along and distinguish the characters voices.

This is a really good book by a very talented writer. The storyline kept me on my toes. I can't wait for the next book by this author. She is a very good and original storyteller! You won't be disappointed at all.

I loved that we got more into Kane’s family history and how everyone worked together to save their loved ones. I want too happy about how Jade and Kane’s wedding was rudely interrupted but later in the book it still all worked out. Off to read the next book in this series.

This series is great. Lots of fun, easy little reads that just zoom by, great to use as brain palette cleansers between heavier reads, but also worth reading just for the heck of it.
