I picked up this book when I started getting interested in how people build something from a small idea. It’s a beautiful story of six friends who turned a tiny spark into a big dream through belief and effort. What I loved the most is that it didn’t feel like a boring business book — the writing was easy to connect with, emotional, and honestly made me think about my own dreams. The short stories were simple but powerful, and they really showed that everyone starts somewhere, even if they’re scared or unsure.

The book doesn’t try to throw big advice at you — instead, it gently reminds you that it’s okay to start small, to fail, and to keep going. It’s more like a soft push that tells you, "Hey, you can try too." It made me feel inspired without any pressure. If you’ve ever felt confused about where to begin or just needed a sign to follow your ideas, this book might be exactly what you need.

Why Must You Read?
-Works like a shot of energy for your complacent soul.
-Get tips right from the master
-Not just textbookish ideas but ground realities and practical info

The fictionalized non-fiction story by Hota is based upon a thin line that separates the doers from the dreamers. Based upon the philosophy of 'act now or never', it sharply delineates the people who who actually upon their desire to achieve something big from those who feel themselves unable to act upon their plans and desires. This, in a nutshell, is a game of will and internation. Is there a difference between the two? Oh yes. Hota explains it well.

Based upon a story of six friends, the book 'Awakening of an Entrepreneur' tackles the journeys of six friends. On the line is desire to make something big and be big. Starting from the spark of an idea, Hota takes the readers all the way to the execution of that plan: the complex gestation of a company. Kishan, a boy from small town has to change four buses just to reach his college. He is going to study electronics there.

The first half of the book deals with his college life, how he changes himself to adapt his personality with his niche. His reach in the top floor of the hostel, where management students live, is one of the most interesting portions of the story. The other highlights are where the author feeds knowlege in the form of storytelling.

The conversations between the professor and the students are quite interesting, as they also widen reader's world economic knowledge. Have a look:
"Look at these numbers. Taiwan, South Korea, Japan - they ve built.their economies around electronics expertise. It's not about having the most number of engineers anymore." He zoomed in on a chart. "It's about having the best...We have something they didn't - their blueprint for success. Every smartphone, every circuit board, every semiconductor comes from other countries. These are the most powerful export categories. They're also the battlegrounds in today's economic war. Generic talent won't cut it. We need innovators."

The word makes up the world. Woven into stories, it runs the globe and stalls it too. In this, imagination is its ally. It fuels the mind of the inhabitants of the planet. Stories are our fodder. Even when these stories are in the packaging of “non-fiction”, the style of writing is more engaging when it is told in a storytelling format and not bogged down by copious data, tables, pie charts and notes. In his book, the author clubs many facts and presents them in a story format. What does it take to build a company? What makes it fail? What makes it succeed? Do you have it in you to kickstart a startup?
These and many more questions have been answered in this positively informative, a d detailed book.

The little nuggets of information that story holds quietly release information without bearing too heavily on the reader. Have a look:
"Now, to build a good business, you must show some cash flow first. The manufacturing business will not come overnight. Before starting the specialty business, there must be baby steps, such as entering the generic business. You might want to start with the EPC segment and generate some profit. Only then will you receive some more investment. You take that investment and generate some more cash flow. There will be a day when you can earmark the additional cash or land a comfortable investment to expand into proper manufacturing."

The author has presented that is perhaps the most challenging, fulfilling and demanding melding of fiction and non fiction. This is one of the rarest books that actually inspired me to start something of my own. The book feels like a papery mentor, encouraging you to take a leap into the unknown, but not without the preps. The books explains the ABC of startups, furnishing stories, anecdotes and experiences perhaps that are from author's real life.

Pick it up this festive season and get going into that world of entrepreneurship.

Awakening of the Entrepreneur is a book for dreamers, who crave to leave their mark. Its about the small wins, pushing forward no matter how much that self-doubt keeps creeping in, near-burnouts and perseverance it takes to keep going for something which lives in your beliefs and is yet to come out in the world.

Whether you're at the starting line or somewhere in the messy middle, Awakening of an Entrepreneur reminds you that building something great begins with showing up — and believing it’s possible.

This book is perfect for aspiring entrepreneurs not only to learn through the storytelling but the character of the protagnist Kishan, will resonate with the every step they will take or are already on the path to make it possible in which they believe so strongly.

Instead of dry advice or overwhelming jargon, this book brings us into the lives of six friends as they navigate the thrilling (and often messy) world of starting something from scratch.

As the book blends storytelling with substance it never feels instructional. It perfectly captures both the heart and the hustle behind starting something meaningful.

I just finished ‘Awakening of an Entrepreneur’ and I’m still reeling. Author Manjit Hota expertly intersperses hard-nosed entrepreneurial wisdom throughout a page-turning story that reads like a cozy chat with your buddies.

It chronicles six friends experiencing the roller coaster ride of a startup — making it uber relatable. What I loved most was how the book reveals the real struggles and setbacks that so often remain unspoken. It’s not just that you have a great idea — it’s about the work, mindset shifts, and grit needed to make that idea a reality.

The book de-mystifies the entrepreneurial journey. I loved that the author didn’t simply highlight the triumphs, but the quiet victories, the teachable moments.

If you’re an entrepreneur wannabe or even just a dreamer, this book is required reading. It’s a memoir of sorts about what it takes to build something from nothing and told in an incredibly accessible style. Believe me, you won’t want to turn it off!

A great mix of fiction and business which is what this self improvement novel is all about. We follow the stories of six friends as they put into play important entrepreneurship lessons.
The narrative is made up of what I would call practical milestones ideation, team build up, product validation, securing funding, growth, and leadership -- each chapter which in turn develops character as well as what it takes to run a start up.
What we get is a balance of emotion with analysis which makes tough business issues easy to digest via conversation and issues which are based in reality.
We go through key elements like market fit, customer input, and investor relations which is all presented in a way that does not break the flow of the story.
This dual use approach makes it at once a very motivational read and a practical guide.
For the up and coming entrepreneur which prefers to learn from a story as opposed to theory this is ideal.

So, the book Awakening of an Entrepreneur by Manjit Hota sets that in-fiction passion that every entrepreneur has. The journeys of the six friends, with their strengths, insecurities, and goals, are sacrifices of lived experiences that inject life into the business ideas. Sparks ignite conversations, failures build fortitude, and silent triumphs nurture passion within us all. This is not a prescriptive manual, but rather a genuine celebration of the journey between search for market fit, investment, and leadership, all amid needy friendships, surfacing love, and the very activities of self-exploration. The author brings one of those innate storytelling gifts to educate in an organic, aspirational, and human manner through the hard lessons of startup creation. This is both a reflection of and a pathway for anyone entertaining an idea — proof that greater things have really started from really small ones.

What makes it stand out is how effortlessly it blends fiction with practical lessons on entrepreneurship. The storytelling keeps you hooked, yet you’re constantly picking up insights about problem-solving, risk-taking, and building from scratch.

The characters feel real—Kishan’s strategic brilliance, Naina’s structured planning, and Aarav’s knack for spotting details remind you that success isn’t just about big ideas, but also persistence and execution. The book doesn’t shy away from showing the roadblocks, quiet sacrifices, and moments of self-doubt that every aspiring entrepreneur faces. 💡 From dorm-room banter to boardroom battles—this is how dreams turn into startups. 🚀

Awakening of an Entrepreneur is where fiction and entrepreneurial wisdom collide. Manjit Hota crafts a lively, relatable story about six friends whose casual college banter sparks a business idea that could change their lives. Through Kishan’s journey—from engineering lectures to launching Surnova Solutions—the novel blends real startup lessons with the drama, banter, and setbacks of friendship. It’s not a dry “how-to,” but a mirror for dreamers—showing the grind, mindset shifts, and small wins that make big things happen. Hota’s narrative proves that patriotism can mean building something that creates jobs and innovation, and that every big company starts as a small, half-serious conversation. Fun, fast, and inspiring, this is a business book for people who hate business books.

I picked up Awakening of an Entrepreneur expecting just another motivational business book, but it completely surprised me. The novel-style storytelling made it so easy to connect with the characters and their struggles - it felt like I was living their ups and downs with them. Instead of abstract advice, I saw practical lessons come alive through the story. I especially liked how it didn’t sugarcoat entrepreneurship. The failures, doubts, and small wins felt so real, and that’s what made it impactful. By the end, I wasn’t just reading about entrepreneurship; I was rethinking my own approach to ideas I’ve been sitting on. The book pushed me to stop waiting for the "perfect moment" and start moving with what I already have. It’s not just a book you read - it’s one that leaves you questioning, “Okay, what’s stopping me?” Definitely worth it for dreamers and doers alike.

I read a lot of entrepreneurship books, but Awakening of an Entrepreneur felt completely different. The storytelling format made it not just informative, but actually enjoyable to read 📖. Instead of drowning in business terms, I got lost in the journey of the six characters—and through them, I learned more than I expected.

The way the book blends fiction with real entrepreneurial truths makes the lessons easier to remember because they’re tied to actual experiences. One moment I’d be smiling at the characters’ camaraderie, and the next, I’d be hit with a line that felt like it was speaking directly to me ✨.

What stood out the most was how honest the book was about the struggles—no overnight success myths, just persistence and growth. By the last page, I wasn’t just inspired; I was ready to act 🚀. If you’ve ever doubted yourself, this book feels like a friend reminding you to try.

Awakening of an Entrepreneur is a beautifully inspired tale of a young engineering student Kishan who becomes an industrialist and does it together by teaming up with his bunch of friends and the love of his life Naina. The book is an unputdownable read as it mesmerizes you with the stories of great friendship bonds and blooming of a unique love story as well as inspires you with the detailed process of how their ideas took seed during their student days and the challenges, failure and success stories of how they built their industries from scouting for locations, dividing upon responsibilities, plan to get proper funding and assembling everything together. It educates you about many lesser known technical facts and also how companies are generally born

Some books teach you facts. Others light a fire in you.
Awakening of an Entrepreneur by Manjit Hota does both.

At its heart, it’s the story of six friends, each with their own dreams, fears, and flaws - who decide to chase something bigger than themselves. You watch them stumble, argue, celebrate, and grow. And somewhere between their late-night conversations and big risks, you start seeing pieces of your own journey in theirs.

This isn't simply about how to build a company, this is about why you'd want to build it. It's about courage when you are fearful, hope when the view seems grim, and the magic that happens when people have faith in one another.

By the time you reach the last page, not only do you feel inspired to start a business, you feel inspired to start something.

What I enjoyed most about Awakening of an Entrepreneur is how it makes entrepreneurship feel less intimidating.

Usually, self-help books in this space feel like checklists and jargon, but this one feels like a conversation. The six friends in the story felt like people I know - each of them struggling in ways that reminded me of myself at different stages.

The book showed me that even confusion, fear, and failure can be part of the process. Honestly, I’ve read books that hype you up for a few hours, and then the feeling fades. But this one stuck because it wasn’t preaching - it was showing.

For anyone who’s ever thought “maybe one day” about starting something, this book feels like that push you’ve been waiting for.

Awakening of an Entrepreneur is not only one more book it is the whole experience. It is narrated in the lives of six friends and is both storytelling and the lessons of real entrepreneurship. It is not a heavy guide but more of a novel that motivated and taught me as well. You can observe how ideas develop, how people are put to the test, and how at the crucial moment people make that difference. It exemplifies that entrepreneurship is not merely business, but a way of thinking and being and a working together. Every person looking forward to setting up something of his own will connect to it. It is inspiring, fresh and feasible that you get a sense that your dreams can come true in action.

Awakening of an Entrepreneur as written by Manjit Hota is an eye-opener in terms of motivational literature. The story is like an episode in a novel and it highlights the emotional roller-coaster of six entrepreneurs. Readers get to know about vision, implementation, resilience, and self-belief though their ordeals. The most attractive element is its simplicity that it does not preach but narrates. There is the truth of everyday struggle and the lessons are learnt in that dimension hence more practical and memorable. This book is ideal when inexperienced searchers are in need of some inspiration but cannot afford to feel overwhelmed. It does not just build companies but builds you. A potent equal marriage of inspiration and sage-like advice, the book spawns the dreamer in all of us.

Awakening of an Entrepreneur can be both exciting and insightful in regard to establishing a business. She presents the case of six friends and uses them to illustrate how passion, failures and determination become the motivators of success. The key lesson in each of the characters is a different part of creating something important, including the need to generate ideas or how to recover from minor setbacks. At least, one does not feel like one is reading a lecture, but that he is living in their journey. You can regard them as the reflections of your own misgivings and aspirations. This book makes you pose difficult questions and find out what actually seems to be the drags. Beautifully and smartly written, it is the inspirational book needed by people who dream and do things.

This book doesn’t try to motivate you with big promises, it simply tells a story that feels real. Awakening of an Entrepreneur follows six characters figuring out what it actually means to build something from nothing.

It’s honest, down-to-earth, and made me think about my own goals and hesitations. It’s not about instant success, it’s about trying, messing up, and growing anyway.

If you’ve ever thought, “What if I gave it a shot?”, this book might just be the push you need.

"Entrepreneurship offers a rare and meaningful path where dreams meet execution."

I found this book when I was getting a keen interest in entrepreneurship and how some people manage to build a company from a small idea.

This book shares the story of six friends who built their dreams by just a spark of inspiration and later their thought and hardwork into that idea built them something unique.

I like the storytelling style of the author as he chose short stories to help young entrepreneurs find their footing and knowing that they aren't alone.
