A funny and heartwarming debut romance about two exes forced to reunite when a plane crash leaves them stranded on a deserted island.
Piper Adams is totally, one hundred percent, completely over Wyatt, the former love of her life. After he broke her heart, she stopped taking risks and focused instead on building a perfect—and perfectly safe—life. Bumping into him at the airport on the way to her best friend’s destination wedding wasn’t part of the plan. Neither was a canceled flight nor Wyatt’s offer of a ride on the tiny plane he’s flying to attend the same wedding. Desperate to make it on time she accepts his offer, but things go from awkward to full-blown nightmare when their plane crashes in the Caribbean, stranding Piper on a deserted island with the last person she ever wanted to see again.
At first, rule-following Piper clashes with adventure-driven Wyatt, but as the days tick by, she begrudgingly admits that the boy she once knew has grown into a man. A man who makes her laugh, knows his way around a fire, and is annoyingly hot shirtless. As the chemistry still simmering between them boils over, Piper begins wishing Wyatt could be more than just a survival partner. But for their love to survive a second chance, she’ll have to not only trust Wyatt again, but also learn to trust herself and find the courage to let go of her carefully curated life for the chance at something far greater—if they survive the island long enough for rescue.
Annie McQuaid lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, and works as a marketing director for an education technology company. When she’s not putting her characters in life-or-death situations, you can find her visiting the beach, tackling her never-ending TBR, or spending time with her adorable nieces. Crash Landing is her debut novel.
What to Expect: ➼ Second Chance ➼ Childhood Best Friends/Lovers ➼ Forced Proximity ➼ Stranded on a Desert Island ➼ Slow Burn ➼ Dual Timeline ➼ Parental Interference ➼ Debut Novel ➼ Third Person POV
Second chance romances are hit or miss for me since the backstories often negatively impact my view of the MC’s, but these two characters came out mostly unscathed. I’ll let you read the reason for yourself, but there was some parental interference that sort of forced the MC’s hand. He genuinely believed he was protecting her future in letting her go which was admirable, so we’ll give him a pass.
The plane crash and the circumstances that lead to it felt a little far fetched to me, but once I got past that, I thought this was really well written and well plotted which was particularly impressive considering this is a debut novel. I would have made a few tweaks here or there, but on the whole I thought this was a very sweet romance from a promising new author! I’ll definitely be on the lookout for her books in future!

Pre-read: Listening to this one on my drive home from visiting family! 💗 Happy Easter friends! 🐣🐇✨
I wrote this book and I hope you love it!! 💕 This is an adventure rom-com full of banter, sweet swoony moments, and lots of fun survival action, but I wanted to share a few trigger warnings to protect my lovely readers.
TW: Death of parent (off-page), plane crash (if you have a bad fear of flying this may not be the book for you, but I promise all ends up okay), PTSD (military related). If you are sensitive to any of these topics, please read with care. 💕
I can assure you, we have another promising romance author on the horizon. Annie McQuaid masterfully combines second chances, forced proximity, and a touch of enemies-to-lovers with a survival adventure, creating a heartwarming novel about two childhood sweethearts who were separated in the past, leaving behind unsaid words, unresolved issues, and an unfinished love story.
The story centers around young med student Piper Adams, who feels stuck in life—pursuing a career she's unsure about and in a relationship lacking intimacy, all while comparing her boyfriend to someone from her past she doesn’t want to name. She’s still missing Wyatt—the boy who broke her heart and vanished from their friend group, leaving her without a word for years.
But now, Piper’s focus is on catching her flight to the Bahamas for the dream wedding of her best friend Allie. What she doesn’t expect is two major surprises: first, all flights are canceled, and second, Allie’s cousin, who also happens to be Wyatt—the very man who shattered her heart—is at the airport too. Wyatt offers her a solution: he’ll fly her to the wedding in a small plane he’ll be piloting. Reluctantly, Piper agrees because of her promise to Allie, assuring herself she’ll set boundaries with her ex-lover once they land in the Bahamas.
However, what she didn’t account for is an unexpected storm that causes their plane to crash on a deserted tropical island. Now, Piper realizes that in order to survive and find their way home, she must learn to trust the very man she’s spent years cursing. Together, they must push past their unresolved issues and focus on survival. But Piper also discovers that the boy she once loved has grown into a capable man, scarred by his deployment, yet striving to make amends for his past mistakes. The sparks between them are undeniable, and their buried feelings begin to resurface. Could they find a second chance at love amid their unfinished story? First, though, they must survive the island, especially as the situation grows more dire and their lives are put in even greater danger.
Overall, I loved Piper and Wyatt’s story—the way it switches between their past and present, revealing how they’ve both grown and evolved, yet their feelings remain unchanged. Piper’s overbearing mother, who could easily be seen as the villain of the story, had me frustrated at every turn. The survival elements and their traumatic but ultimately unifying journey on the island are written with gritty realism. I was rooting for them the whole way, screaming at them to drop their pride and communicate honestly. Do I recommend this love story? Absolutely! This heartfelt, second-chance survival romance is a must-read.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for sharing this emotional romance’s digital reviewer copy with me in exchange for my honest thoughts.
❤⭐THEIR LOVE STORY HAD ALREADY BEEN WRITTEN IN THE STARS❤⭐!!!!!!!! Crash Landing written by Annie McQuaid is UTTER PERFECTION for a DEBUT NOVEL!!!!!!! I can't even imagine what it's like to survive a plane crash, let alone be stranded on an island with an ex-boyfriend, but Annie McQuaid made it so real, it's not always going to be rainbows and sparkles, there's absolutely going to be complications. Crash Landing was so real, relatable, heart breaking, beautiful, pure, raw, and absolute perfection. I didn't expect this book to be five stars for me, but I loved every single minute of this gut wrenching story. I was giggling and kicking my feet in the air and then I had tears streaming down my face all on the same page. When I first saw that gorgeous cover, I knew I had to get my hands on this book immediately, then I saw it was about second chances, being stranded on an island with an ex, being vulnerable, and rekindling a broken heart. I had so many different emotions running through my head while reading this book, but by the end, my cheeks hurt so much from smiling nonstop while my heart was in the bottom of my chest. I can't recommend this beautiful yet heart breaking book, so please do y'all selves a favor and mark your calendars for April 1st, 2025, so you don't miss out on this phenomenal debut novel. Life isn't always going to be rainbows, sparkles, and roses, it's about hitting rock bottom, standing on your own two feet, and being the best version of yourself. Crash Landing taught me so many important life lessons, but most importantly, vulnerability is okay.
THANK YOU TO NETGALLEY AND AVON AND HARPER VOYAGER FOR AN ARC OF THIS BOOK IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW!!!!!!

Piper Adams is a second year medical student at Emory School of Medicine. Piper is such a relatable character, I related and resonated with her more than my review will prove. Piper is a perennial people pleaser, she lives her life out of fear of disappointing others instead of making herself happy. It's so hard to be happy when you are working tirelessly around the clock trying not to disappoint those around you. Piper hides her imperfections beneath expensive makeup, she absolutely hates being vulnerable, and she also survives off iced vanilla lattes. Piper is flying to the Bahama's because she's the maid of honor in her best friend Allie's wedding, Allie happens to be Wyatt's cousin. Wyatt Brooks is six foot three, with a dimpled smile, and soul drowning eyes. Wyatt is also attending Allie's wedding when their flight gets delayed. Wyatt spent five years in the Army, he was deployed overseas twice, and now he suffers from post traumatic stress disorder from his time in the military. Wyatt is the "Mr. Love 'Em and Leave 'Em" type of person. He has a bad habit of pushing away the people he loves most. Wyatt Brooks is a self loather, he's strong, exceptional, brave and kind. I absolutely love and adore Piper and Wyatt, they were the two most selfless loving characters I have ever met. As I was reading this book, it felt like Piper and I were experiencing life together. Piper and Wyatt will remain in my heart for a long time to come.
When Piper and Wyatt arrive at the airport, they learn that their flight has been delayed, so Wyatt offers to fly them to Allie's wedding. During their flight, something goes wrong with the small jet and it causes them to crash laving them stranded on the Caribbean Island. Piper and Wyatt are stranded together on this remote island for one whole week, with little to no food that they must scavenge for. During their time on the island, they share silly fun, uninhibited laughter, and an undercurrent of deep friendship. Both Wyatt and Piper suffered minor injuries, but they take care of each other, Wyatt bandaged Piper's wounds, built them a shelter and a fire out of whatever materials they could find. Wyatt and Piper made each other laugh enough to forget their life or death situation. Piper and Wyatt have a crazy emotional past, Wyatt broke Piper's heart eight years ago. Piper and Wyatt were just little kids when they formed a friendship over their love of books. Their past was more than a high school crush, they were best friends, soul mates, and one true loves. They had a five year friendship and one magical summer of falling in love when Wyatt decided to throw their love away like a piece of trash despite them being high school sweethearts. I love that Wyatt and Piper were able to communicate with each other about what went wrong all those years ago. Even those these two love birds broke my heart at times, they gave me the closure that I needed, but also what they needed to find their true selves again.
Love a short and sweet rom-com with a sprinkle of survival thriller! Perfect if you enjoy forced proximity, second chance, and moderately high stakes in your rom-coms.
While this book did keep my attention and had solid pacing, it was fairly cheesy. I didn't feel connected to either of the characters, and their chemistry wasn't the best—which is normally what I love about second chance romance, the tension between two exes. And the relationship and character development felt a bit surface level. I also didn't love some of the clichés (i.e. the miscommunication especially). Though the author did do a great job integrating the flashback scenes with present-day, survival-on-the-island scenes.
Thank you so much to Avon Books for sending me an ARC of Crash Landing. As always, my reviews are one hundred percent voluntary and all opinions are my own :)
jumpscaring me with harry potter in a totally unrelated work should be punishable with jail time.
no but for real, i feel like putting a nerd-out abt harry potter (and i mean an honest to god moment where they talk abt nimbuses and stuff like they're in the height of early 2010s tumblr) in a book published this year is just so tone deaf. you can be a fan in the privacy of your own soul, just don't put it in your published novel and make me read it with my own two eyes, cause it stinks of support.
and also i want to think abt terfzilla as little as i can.
This is a fun contemporary romance that follows Piper. Fate will reunite Piper with her ex-boyfriend, Wyatt, in the most absurd way. Just when she thought that she had gotten over the man, their best friend's destination wedding was what made the two exes meet again and rekindle.
When the flight gets cancelled, Piper doesn’t find any other way to attend her best friend’s wedding but to accept Wyatt’s offer to fly there in a small plane. Of course, as the title and cover both reveal, there is a crash, and we get to know the characters’ past and present through an alternating narration style.
If you enjoy reading about second-chance romances with forced proximity, this is definitely the book for you. Although I was initially more interested in the present and survival aspects of the story, the past narrative effectively provided background on the characters, their relationship, and what went wrong.
This is an excellent debut novel with heart and humor. The characters are lovable and grounded, and I feel many readers can relate to them, comparing their own experiences with those of the characters. I recommend this book to all those looking to read something exciting and fun.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with the ARC of this book.
I'm not usually into dual timeline stories or second chance romances. Still, the whole ‘stranded island’ premise caught my attention after I came across the blurb. Gotta say, for a debut, the author gave it a good shot.
However, sadly, there were definitely some major parts that didn’t quite hit the mark, felt off or underdeveloped.
The only thing I genuinely liked in this book was the survival aspect, it was done really well. What can I say. I’ve always had a soft spot for stories where characters come together to overcome difficult situations... whether in books, television series, or films.
Overall, a good concept that just needed a bit more polish.
Despite there being a plane crash in this book, this was a great time. Second chance romance is not a trope I tend to love, but when done right, I adore it and I think this one was done right. What better way to fall in love all over again when stuck on an island with the one who broke your heart. There is romance, a bit of action, a bit of fear and survival and a whole lot of sweetness.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for access to the ARC in exchange for an honest review. Pub Date: 4/1/25
I chose it because the stranded on the island was not a setting I have read before and I was curious how/if the author can pull of some kind of survival romance. Well, the book was a fail for me but not because of the setting. I actually like the survival aspect, the MCs working together to survive, helping and caring for each other, the suspense element was OK was well. The book has way bigger issues - clichéd writing, poor characterization of the MCs and side characters, brand name dropping from the start (I hate this with a fiery passion) There is a now/then second chance romance and I really didn't care about the then - a high school romance, friends to lovers, goody two shoes girl falls for the boy from the wrong side of town. Basically, it was just one cliché after another after another. I was OK with the present romance but the reason for the break-up and not speaking to each other was just another cliché. Just when I thought something new, exciting might happen and story would take a turn for the better, it only got worse. Overall, I was left frustrated at the end, despite everything working out (of course) and I felt it was just a big waste of time.
CW: airplane crash, serious injuries, war trauma leading to PTSD episode, parental neglect due to alcohol abuse
Crash Landing by Annie McQuaid Contemporary romance. Second chance troupe. Piper Adams is on her way to the Caribbean for her best friend’s destination wedding when her flight gets cancelled. With no other choice, she accepts an invitation from the former love of her life, Wyatt Brooks. He’s borrowed a small plane from a friend and is going to the same wedding. Piper figures she’ll only have to be put up Wyatt for a few hours. But then the tiny plane crashes on a deserted island, and those few hours turns to days while they wait for rescue. Then need to work together for survival. Food, shelter, and water are just the basics they have to figure out. Surviving 24 hours a day together requires letting go of the anger and antagonism and finding a way to either ignore the sizzling chemistry still there or doing something about it.
Lost on a deserted island requires a lot of work. I don’t think I’d make it. I’m used to days of sitting at my desk for work, and moving to a comfy chair afterwards to read for a few hours. Nowhere in my day is there time for catching fish (ewww), or figuring out how to catch the rain water (wringing it out of their clothes?) and just forget about sleeping on the ground! This adventure did make me think of packing a few more emergency items for my next book travel. Better prepared than looking for a store IMO.
This couple is up for the adventure of the island even if it wasn’t part of the plan. They clearly still have feelings for each other and being by themselves required them to work together and depend on each other. And isn’t that what a relationship is? HEA guaranteed. Delightful.
Trapped on a remote island with your ex? You have to share a bed? And he keeps looking at you like you are the only thing keeping him alive? Sign. Me. UP.
This was a super cute second chance romance that I completely blew through when I finally had a chance to sit down and read it. This does bounce back and force between past and present to understand Piper and Wyatt’s story which I usually do not like, but the way the author wrote their story immediately pulled me in to keep reading.
This was closed door romance, but I really did enjoy reading this one. At times it felt like YA to me but then again it might just be because I usually can’t read a book without it being rating X🫣 This would be a great beach read and I would definitely recommend this to someone who obviously loves second chances, and they aren’t into spice too much!
*Thank you to to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voage for the ARC!*
Drama! Angst! Tension! Being stranded on an island! If there’s one thing I love it’s a romcom where some one almost dies (it just adds some excitement, ya know?) and this book gave me that. Piper and Wyatt are estranged exes/former best friends who become stranded on an island together after a plane crash on the way to their mutual friends wedding. This is one of those books where you definitely have to suspend your belief for the sake of the romance but it’s still a good time. For the most part, piper and Wyatt had almost too easy of a time surviving on the island. They were there for a week eating pretty much just papayas and entertaining themselves by ??? doing something? Don’t get me wrong, there’s definitely some higher stakes situations but for the most part they were just chilling. This did give them the opportunity to have some conversations about their past and what went wrong. I thought they had really good chemistry and could definitely feel their connection. The past chapters were cute but didn’t really do much for me. I liked that you got to see the beginning of their friendship/relationship but they didn’t add a whole lot of depth to the story (at least not for me)
All in all I had a good time reading this and would definitely recommend if you like second chance romance, forced proximity, or want a romcom with a life or death situation
I cannot get over how gorgeous the cover of this book is. Unfortunately, the story itself wasn’t as good.
The blurb really drew me in. I mean two exes stranded on an island? It is not something you typically see in romance books so I was very curious to see how everything would unfold. However, the plot was very slow and dull and the dual timeline didn’t add much to the story. There was also some really weird dialogue and phrases that did not work for me. It just didn’t feel natural and realistic.
As for the characters, the leads came off as flat and underdeveloped. I honestly couldn’t tell sometimes whether we were in the past or the present because the characters didn’t seem to have matured at all. They still read as young kids. I also didn’t feel any chemistry between Piper and Wyatt either. They were just so boring together. There was no spark or banter. I was struggling to find something to be invested in.
Overall, this was a miss for me. It had potential, but the delivery wasn’t there.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc! This book and I however did not get along 😭 I felt this love story was not believable at all and the two main characters had no chemistry.
🏝️Wyatt had the uncanny ability to extract the feelings swimming inside her and bring them into the light. 🏝️
3.50 stars ꨄ ⤿ this was so sweet <3 second chance has impressed me twice this month, am I a changed person? 👀
💌 plot 💌
this book follows main characters piper and wyatt, two exes that end up stranded at a desert island with nothing but eachother. with the forced proximity and no chance to escape, it gives them all the opportunity to connect.. and perhaps rekindle their previous romance?? 🤍
years ago, wyatt broke piper’s heart abruptly with no reason or explanation, and cut her off, leaving their romance and years of friendship and never even attempting to reach out to her. now that they are stuck together, she still holds a grudge (rightfully so) whilst wyatt attempts to receive her forgiveness. will she be able to forgive the man that broke her heart and vanished from her life? and will they get back together?
💐 my thoughts 💐
honestly I was skeptical at first. when I read this quote:
💔 Five years of friendship and one magical summer of falling in love blew away like a wisp of smoke in a hurricane. 💔
my heart broke for piper. and I was beginning to wonder why I was even supposed to root for them to get back together when it was obvious to me she deserved better. but, alas, they proved me wrong. when everything actually got explained, in the second half of the book, I IMMEDIATELY got hooked. I was suddenly rooting for them so bad, waiting for their first kiss, and couldn’t put my kindle down for longer than 5 seconds because I had to witness them fall back in love all over again before I could even take my eyes off the book. it picked up so much and I found myself really enjoying it 🥹
my one issue was the flashbacks. this is more of a me problem because every other chapter was a flashback which was a bit frustrating. I would be so into their current journey and then they hit me with a flashback and I wanna cry 😭 that was my personal problem though i acknowledge that.
🧸 conclusion 🧸
overall I really had a fun time, despite the book only picking up at the second half, and I would really recommend if you’d like a unique fun storyline!! <3 I also loved that piper had a character growth after the whole experience at the island, and it taught her that she doesn’t have time to waste pursuing what she doesn’t love. that was beautiful 🥹
thank you to netgalley and avon and harper voyager for the arc in exchange for an honest review!
…….. so thankful for this arc!! the premise is so cool and unique: two exes stranded together on an island?!? omg. and don’t even get me started on that stunning cover 🥹💐 thank u netgalley and the publishers ! 💌
These characters have no depth. They also flew for like 20 minutes and crashed so… why is it taking days on days for them to be rescued? I didn’t buy why they broke up in the first place & I was bored being in the fmc’s head. She was so bland & I couldn’t empathize with her privileged problems.
if my ex boyfriend crashed the plane i was in, i would suffocate him
this book kinda felt like if the ex vows but instead of a wedding bringing the exes together it was a plane crash, oh and it wasn't as good. for some reason i requested this arc even though i am terrified of planes. this didn't help at all but the romance was kinda cutesy. we're following two exes who are trying to get to a friends wedding but a canceled flight causes them to go together instead and disaster strikes. at first i really liked the timeline switches and getting to know wyatt and piper but it kinda got annoying because i didn't vibe with the dialogue.
these two were wayyyyy to calm for having been in a plane crash. maybe its because i read swept away by beth o'leary recently but they were not stressing enough for the situation they were in. if i was trapped on an island and couldn't get home and SURVIVED A PLANE CRASH... i would be dead probably or in a constant panic attack. both of these characters felt pretty bland and i wasn't in love with wyatt. this is cute and fun, great if you're looking for a unique romance, but it wasn't my overall fave.
Piper never anticipated seeing the former love of her life, Wyatt, after he broke her heart at the end of their Senior year, immediately before he left for basic training. She especially did not expect to see him again while stranded at the airport, unable to find a flight that will allow her to get to her best friend's destination wedding on time. That's when Piper is forced to make a choice she could only make in order to fulfill her maid of honor duties: board a borrowed plane flown by Wyatt himself so that she can make it on time to be by her best friend's side on the most important day of her life. Piper figures that she can avoid Wyatt as a passenger while he flies the plane from the cockpit - what she doesn't anticipate, however, is the plane crash-landing onto an unknown island in the middle of nowhere, stranding Piper and Wyatt together with quickly depleting resources and an onslaught of unresolved issues.
"Crash Landing" is a second-chance romance that features flash-back chapters that allow you a glimpse at Piper and Wyatt as teenagers and their original friends-to-lovers romance, which initially ends in heartbreak. I really enjoyed the way the book transitioned between "then" and "now" and felt that this provided a lot of insight into both Piper and Wyatt's personalities and character development. Even though this is a standalone novel, there is a ton of character development demonstrated between both Piper and Wyatt, and they are both very well thought-out and complex characters.
Initially, I didn't expect to enjoy this book as much as I did! I didn't know how much I was going to enjoy the plane crash/island survival concept, especially in a romance novel - but, Annie McQuaid made it work! It may sound "cheesy" or atypical for a romance, but I would highly recommend picking this book up and giving it a try. I finished the book in just around 24 hours and had trouble putting it down!
Thank you to NetGalley, Avon, and Annie McQuaid for providing a digital arc copy of this book in exchange for my honest review! "Crash Landing" is available for purchase beginning April 1, 2025!
This book was hard to put down! I had so much fun navigating the relationship between Wyatt and Piper. If you are a fan of second chance romance with a close proximity trope, then this book is for you. Wyatt and Piper were once the best of friends turned lovers when they were teenagers, but after a breakup they didn’t speak for eight years. Until, one of their mutual friends is getting married and they are both stuck at an airport together when their flights get canceled. Wyatt offers Piper a ride in a charter plane that he can fly, she accepts his offer after deciding she has no choice. Next thing they know, they are crashing on a deserted island.
I got this ARC from NetGalley, all opinions are my own. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
If you're stranded on a deserted island and can only bring one book, you want it to be Crash Landing! Annie McQuaid's debut is full of high stakes and even higher swooning. Readers will be rooting for both Piper and Wyatt's love story and survival from page one. This dual-timeline adventure romance is tender, suspenseful, and sensual, all at once.
Thank you @Avon Books for the #gifted copy of this traveling arc. Extra hugs to @checkyourshelves for hosting this traveling book.
I never knew I needed a plane crash romance in my life until Annie delivered with "Crash Landing"
All the Survivor and Lost vibes were immaculate in this one... only make it romance & throw your ex into the scenario. Chaos? ✔️
This book is just plain fun. It's a worst case scenario moment made into a romance. How can you not want to explore that a bit?
My favorite thing about this book was the timeline from Wyatt and Pipers past. The way the met. The book club in the tree house. The first date at the drive-in. I'm swooning all over again. I think the nostalgia of those sweet feelings of first falling for your person really got me with these characters.
Wyatt may be in my top ten book boyfriends for the year. The way he has it down bad for her... ugh. Just wait until you read about him.
My only issue with this is I had to suspend reality a lil bit... I mean, imagine, want to get frisky when you've spent weeks stranded on an island? Sweaty...no showers...no teeth brushing... Like, the man whips out a condom in one scene...how? *flabbergasted*
Hygiene? We don't know her.
Outside of the icky yucky sexy time moment, I would recommend this book. Go into it with an open mind & be ready for the most fun summer read you'll get your hands on this year.
✈️ Second Chance 🌴 Beach Read ✈️ Vacation Gone Wrong 🌴 Exes to Lovers ✈️ Forced Proximity 🌴 Survivor/Lost Vibes ✈️ Army MMC 🌴 PTSD Rep ✈️ Dual Timeline
The back matter describing this book is maybe the most interesting part of the book. For a book where the 2 MCs end up in a plane crash and are then stranded on a deserted island, this book ended up being a bit of a snooze. It was a second chance romance + forced proximity and had dual timelines and honestly, the dual timeline really throws off the pacing of the book and I did not care about these characters in their high school iteration or their present day iteration. They read so young to me, even in current day and particularly Piper, who seemed unable to really go after what she wanted and then essentially forgives Wyatt 5 minutes after seeing him again after he ghosted her for an entire decade. The pace at which these two made up made zero sense, the reasoning behind why Wyatt did what he did was really annoying and cliched and given his propensity for shutting Piper out of his life at the drop of a hat, I didn’t really buy their HEA. Also Piper is a second year med student and gets squeamish at the sight of blood. Clearly she’s not happy with her life choices and only doing it to please her overbearing parents but honestly, she hates the sight of blood. And is a med student. And towards the end, she suddenly has an epiphany about her true calling in life and it’s so random and sudden. In short, this book was in parts boring and cliched and I just didn’t love either MC or feel all that invested in the outcome of their romance.
Content note: plane crash, injuries related to plane crash, hospitalization, alcoholic mom, dead parents
