A very good book to have knocking about in a design studio. If you're a seasoned designer I doubt you'll learn anything new, as most of the information in this book is quite basic, but essential basics. If you have juniors in your office, use this book as a first point of call for them so as not to bother the seniors so much.
Basic info... Why I bought this book... Sometimes I have customers who just doesn't get why? And I need clear concise way to explain why the photo they snapped at 72 dpi just won't got it for print. So when they ask Why? Flip to the page and fax it over if I have to!
If you're already familiar with Photoshop/Illustrator, this should be fairly easy to understand and is fantastic for polishing up skills. Overall, the book covers best practices for any designer and should be the first book any newbie designer touches.
