When Chrissy falls and hurts her ankle on a school ski trip, Caroline, her cousin, becomes convinced that Chrissy is faking in order to capture the attention of Stefan a handsome exchange student
Rhys turned to writing children’s books under her married name, Janet Quin-Harkin. Her first picture book was an immediate success and won several awards. More picture books followed, then her agent asked her to write a book for young adults. This was a turning point in Rhys’s career. Her first young adult novel was an instant hit. By her third she was selling half a million copies. Many more popular YA novels followed until Rhys decided she had said all she wanted to say about teenage love and angst, and she turned her real love—mysteries.
In this book, the cousins are trying out for the school gymnastics team. They, also may, be trying to get the attention of the exchange student/coach. This isn't the SVH series, so I was a little surprised a teacher wasn't involved in any way. Chrissy could stoop to a trick to get attention from the coach. But Caroline has plans at the school ski trip to unmask the trick.
