Waking up in an alien storage container wasn't on my vision board. Neither was being sold to a towering lizardman who thinks I'm his new pleasure pet.

My life on Earth was ordinary, apartment, salon job, rinse and repeat. Then I'm abducted, trafficked across the galaxy, and purchased by Tobias, a Verrulian treasure hunter who has no idea humans are sentient. He just knows he's desperately lonely and wants a companion to warm his bed.
What starts as a terrifying misunderstanding transforms when Tobias discovers the truth. Horrified by his actions, he vows to return me to Earth, even though it means losing the one being who makes him feel whole after years of failure and isolation.
But as we journey through the stars together, something unexpected blooms between us. I find myself falling for the male who sees me as more than ordinary. And Tobias discovers that his greatest treasure isn't something he can sell, it's me, the human woman who chose to stay.
When we finally reach Earth, I must return to a life that never truly fit or embrace a future among the stars with a male who has two hearts that beat only for me.

Such a fun read! The story pulls you in right away and keeps things moving at a great pace. I really liked the characters and their chemistry. It’s got just the right mix of heat and heart. My only gripe is that it felt a little short; I would’ve loved to see a few storylines explored more. Still, it’s an addictive, spicy sci-fi escape that’s absolutely worth the read.

A slow burn romance that slowly develops from fear into friendship and finally into a loving relationship with a mating bond. It was kind of sad when Amy returns to Earth to find her existence has been erased. It really makes you think about your own mark upon this Earth and who will remember us when we are gone. But enough macabre thoughts. The romance that builds between these two is precious and even watching them bond with the chicken bird pet was cute. Proves that looks aren't everything, it's what is truly in the heart. And love knows no borders and truly is universal.

I really enjoyed this book. Good world building and wonderful characters. I liked both Tobias and Amy. This story is on the shorter side, so she is viewed and treated as a [pleasure?] pet only in the first third of the book before realizing that's not what she is, and getting translators so they can communicate. After that, I liked the friendship that blooms between them, though he is clearly sad to be returning her home, and she herself begins to doubt what she really wants. A cute read. And btw, I think I want my own Ugly. I warmed up to that big ugly plucked chicken thing pretty quick and want to give it all the head scritches. 4 stars

If you read, The Monster's Pet duet by Kitty Black, then you were briefly introduced to the large Lizardman intrigued by human "pleasure pets". Well this is his story and I wasn't pleasantly surprised what a big sofite he was. Plus, bonus points for Tobias being a consent king. Granted the relationship between him and Amy started off really bad. There's some dub-con in their first interaction but Tobias immediately stops. They don't do or try anything else without Amy's explicit and enthusiastic consent. As the MCs grew closet they formed such a raw, vulnerable, and giving relationship and love. Special bonus points for the hot and steamy scenes. Ms Kitty Black always delivers when it comes to smutty smut, sometimes with the added bonus of some warm & fuzzy feelings. I'm never disappointed reading her novellas! I want more Kitty, give us more!!! Please 🙏🏽🥺.

The third in this short series. We have Amy, who ends up abducted and sold to an alien. Tobias, said alien, is looking for company, to fight the loneliness he has felt for too long. Once he realises she is a sentient being, he has regrets. On their journey, they learn much about each other and Amy has some tough decisions to make when he takes her home. Loved their story, was so emotional and touching.

The third short story in Pets: Monster Edition, another engaging story in this series. Tobias, a Verrulian treasure hunter and human Amy do not get off to a great start. He takes her back to Earth to find out what she wants to do. exceptionally well-written story featuring great characters and a compelling storyline that culminated in a very satisfying happy ending. So much better than I expected! Indont know exactly what I was expecting but this was definitely better than it lol great characters and definite spice. I love how sweet he is!
