What happens when a love letter ends up in the hands of the wrong man—who turns out to be the right one?
Emily Levine is a recovering love-aholic who used to fall hard, fast, and for all the wrong people. These days, she’s laser-focused on her marketing career, brunch loyalty card, and a life that runs strictly on caffeine and careful planning—until she meets Adam Kostas.
Adam is a pilot, a maple syrup connoisseur, and dangerously good at making life look effortless. He’s infuriatingly competent, unfairly charming, and very clear about one long-term relationships aren’t for him... until he finds a love letter. From Emily. To him. Or is it?
Suddenly, everything he thought he knew gets scrambled—right along with his heart. But the letter isn’t what it seems, and falling for each other was never part of the campaign strategy. As professional boundaries blur and brunches turn into something more, Emily and Adam have to decide if love is worth rewriting the plan.
Told with sharp banter, soft moments, and an unapologetic love for waffles, You Had Me at The Story of Emily and Adam is a slow-burn, sweet-and-swoony rom-com about taking chances, making space, and finding the person who feels like home.
Emily and Adam met through mutual friends and have been friendly towards each other. As they learn more about each other the friendliness would like to be more, but is it worth it? Then Adam finds a letter that he hopes is about him, and things shift. But there is still the feeling of what if it doesn’t work out and is it worth it?
I thought this book was enchanting. It is light, a quick read, and very well written. Emily is quirky but talented, Adam is thoughtful and it was nice to see the guy have some insecurities too. I dropped it to four stars because some little things confused me but not enough to take away from the story. It is just how my brain works. Don’t let it deter you! I don’t want to give any spoilers explaining it. I need to know where I can get her good morning mug (read to find out!)
All in all, I am going to go back and read about their friends because I really enjoyed this book. I look forward to reading more (and I hope we see more of Liam!) 4/5⭐️ 1/5🌶️
A very sweet read! 💕 The magic of Love at First Flight continues, and once again the characters feel like real friends. Tracy T. Wright’s writing flows so naturally—it honestly feels like watching a movie. 🎬
I adored the slow-burn romance, the fresh and fun campaign, and oh my goodness… I need an invite to that brunch party 🥞✨. While Love at First Flight still holds the bigger charm for me, I loved seeing Daniel & Sophie alongside Emily & Adam—it made the story feel extra warm and connected.
The setting in Niagara, Canada 🍁, is described so beautifully it felt like taking a little vacation while reading. Highly recommend to anyone who loves romance filled with sweetness, heart, and just the right sprinkle of magic. 💌
I loved the book, I simply loved it. Emily, who can be as clumsy as I can be. Adam, finally a man who is not perfect. Who does things he regrets. Both wary of a lasting relationship: she because of relationships gone wrong, he because he prefers short, superficial relationships. I loved Emily’s campaign, Adam’s support. And of course the waffle brunches. A cozy romance indeed. I am going to read the first book of the series too, now.
I received this as a free ARC. This was such a fun romance. The characters are great. This is an interconnected series. You can read this one by itself, but I would recommend reading the other one first. Reading the other book 1st gave me a better understanding of the characters.
