When Nazreal falls, resonance ends.Empress Faria has returned to the Senate to continue and protect her father’s legacy, but she is far from welcome. With the ancient city of Nazreal’s secrets now in the open, aggressive forces are moving in to stake their claim.
Branded a political delinquent, she walks a knife-edge to guard her sovereign and fulfil the promise of peace, but quickly the blade is twisted and she is forced to fight for her friends, Nazreal, and her life.
A climactic storm begins to the last battle to end a two-thousand year conflict of world-destroying stakes, converging on the beleaguered lost city with Faria as its shield, one final time.
A wonderful conclusion to the Resonance series by Hugo Jackson. Once again, Faria and her friends remind us how important it is to have hope and to stay true to being a good person when the world continually tries to make you think otherwise.
The ending itself is unique. It doesn't just end with the hero defeating the villain, but rather with trying to show the villain how their view of the world brought about positive change that the villain was too blinded to see.
The characters themselves are all still sweet and well thought out, and I think getting to see each character's thoughts and interactions was great in both keeping the story engaging and allowing us insight into each character.
I do think this is a wonderful story, and I can't wait to see what Jackson has in store next now that the Resonance series is over.
