My name is Cat and I am one sexy, stylin’ lady who just so happens to be a phone sex operator, or as I like to say, conversation specialist. LOL! Now don’t go dissing me until you hear my story, because it’s a good one. I have been an operator for years, and feel it’s my job to make my clients comfortable when talking to me about their fetishes; and trust me, they can get weird. Most clients have your typical fascination with role-play and bondage, but some are really out there. Regardless of the scenario I have to maintain my professionalism. Don’t worry, I won’t get into all the nitty gritty, but I gotta do my job to make ends meet. Especially after my sister Landa, the ho, disappears and dumps her four multicolored kids on me, indefinitely. Ronny is the oldest and he is afraid of his own shadow half the time. Michelle, or as I like to call her, Miss Thang, is a sassy, chubby, pre-teen who is always in the pantry. Zoe, falls somewhere in between and half the time you wouldn’t know she was there. Then there is the baby, Jesse, who is sort of caramel colored. He is a cutie pie but he has a dairy problem and it is rank. I didn’t sign up for this, but I admit the kids are growing on me.
In the meantime, I admit, I get lonely without a man. One of my clients, Dale, has been with me for four years. He is your basic nerdy type who has probably never been laid, but there is something about him I like. Most of the time we just talk during our conversations, but he is ready to meet in person and take things to the next level. I am confident in who I am, given my larger than average size, but I am still not sure I am up for a face to face with Dale. Then there is Ed, now he is HOT. Alright so he is married and has kids, big whoop, he stirs something in me and we have crossed the line from associates to lovers. Suddenly I have gone from being a lonely operator to a woman with two men knocking at my door, literally.

Cat is a delightful and humorous read. It tells the story of a young, practically housebound, woman who makes a living as a phone sex operator. She is almost as wide as she is tall and she is good at her job. The conversations she holds are sometimes saucy, sometimes weird and that's okay with her.

She meets a young man, Dale, through work and they keep it professional until she finds herself suddenly taking care of her worthless sister's children. Most of them have different father's and come in different shades. When her drugged sister comes back to get the kids, Cat cannot bear to let them go back to the rough life they had been living and gives her life savings up to keep them. Her friendship with Dale grows and there is another man who enters the picture too.

I found myself enjoying this tale more than I expected. There are many things that Cat feels and goes through that I can relate to and some things just leave me chuckling or scratching my head. Either way, I give this book a 4 star rating because I was transported into her world. ~JoEllen via Booklover Sue blog

This book is one that will have you laughing back, and let me tell you all about what I read! First off, Cat the main character is a down to earth true spirited woman, that carries a soft spot in her heart for all her loved ones. But she is sure not afraid to blow someone away with her mouth if she feels that you do not have good intentions or mind her rules of safety first. She is a one of a kind lady for sure. One of those aunts in the family that all the kids love and remember after they have passed away. You know that kind right?

As you can tell from my raving I really loved how Dewey put this book together. The ghetto terms and all that go along with ghetto mentality are vivid and super down to earth! This is what really made this character so believable to me. The fact that she cusses, very lively with a good heart and a well meaning spirit, really added to the true quality of the character, that even brought ME out of my funk. Like I said earlier, I was laughing back, and so will you. But seriously, how many people are like that nowadays that you know? That sort of spirit has very much been replaced by straight materialism and self consumption. Anyways, the book was powerful in many underlying aspects and Dewey made me do a self reflection too!

Dewey obviously knows a ton about down home culture, as well as being heavy. Believe it or not, there are tons of new people coming out of the closet about how they love fat women and just want to be with someone who is natural. Yes and it is so true because I am darn sure not the skinny woman! Believe me I know! You rock Dewey! Keep up this sort of fiction, WE really need it nowadays~

I rate this book FIVE stars and am very PROUD to do so! Cat Livin' Large really HITS the spot if you know what I mean!

Surprisingly a good book. I wasn't sure what to expect since Cat is a phone sex operator, but the story has several storylines to keep you engaged in the book. Of course there is Cat's career, her sister and her 4 kids, Dale - one of Cat's first customers, some action, some reality tv, love and new life.

There are a few things that I was disappointed with, but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the story too much. First Cat's way of speaking, it is very ghetto and just didn't seem like it should be the way she spoke in life. I don't know a lot about her upbringing or where she lived, but it is not a way of speaking I expected for a white woman. Secondly, yes the character is overweight and according to the book about 5'1 and 240 lbs. BUT the author makes it seem like she is more like 300 lbs with how certain situations are described - the doctor saying he needs the nurse to hold her legs open for a gyn exam. NO clue why she would write it that way. There are other scenarios and while agree she was overweight, it wasn't as bad as how it was portrayed.

Despite those the story was good and checked off several boxes - love, a little mystery/intrigue and real life situations.

** ARC given on behalf of obsessed by books for an honest review **
This was a whitty read. it was fun, Cat is sex phone operator with sass and curves and is proud of it all. She never really feels lonely due to all the phone action but she soon finds herself stuck between two men. Dale is the nerdy sweet talker who has probably had just as much action as a monk, but he knows how to make her feel wanted, then there is Ed he can talk dirty with the best of them and the fire he stirs in Cat is unbelievable but he is married. Cat has always been confident about herself, but when both of this men who I remind you are her clients tell her that they want to meet to take their relationship to the next level she's not so sure about herself anymore. This book was so good the way Cat feels about herself when she is alone is how a lot of women feel we are all confindent til someone is interested then we start to doubt ourselves. I really enjoyed this book.

I for the most part really liked this book. Didn't care a lot for all the references to being over weight and a little unrealistically at that. But the story was very entertaining. Cat can get herself into some fixes. In the end it was what I would call a feel good story, the girl gets it all.
Cat is an overweight phone sex operator who ends up with her sister's 4 kids being dumped on her. At which point she invites Dale one of her first clients, who she has ore of a friendship relationship with then phone sex, to come stay with her and help out. Cat meets with another of her clients who makes her feel good and ends up pregnant. Dale and her end up falling in love, and All 7 live happily ever after in the midst of some chaos, some action/adventure, a wild birth of the baby, the shows the voice and the biggest looser. You have to read the book to figure out what all this means :)

I really like this book at the beginning. I was fascinated by Cat's sophistication and her choice of occupation. Then everything went downhill....fast. I'll be happy if I never hear the words byatch and dayumn again.

This wasn't my favorite book in my reading history. It had some funny parts that had me laughing, but some parts were unbelievable. I would say if you are looking for a light easy read this would be a book for you. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
