Every good girl wants a bad boy, and that’s exactly what Monique got when she met Ray--a dirty man who doesn’t play by the rules. His ways eventually begin to affect Monique, and it’s not long before tables are being turned and he gets a dose of his own medicine.
Ray isn’t happy about how things have panned out, and jealousy starts to show its ugly face. But Monique decides she isn’t having it and demands respect. She wants the throne, and in fighting to get there, she learns the hard way that the people you trust the most turn out to be the very wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Good job Joy!!! I gave it 4 stars because some parts seemed a little slow for me. I swear Monique had me mad how she took the rap after Ray lied on her. What she thought was a good idea in reference to having things in her name sure didn't help her much all because of something a loser had to say. Really Ray?! Dude pulled the biggest move ever. I loved Teara's character because she always had Monique's back through it all. Peppa wasn't a bad friend either. Lucy seemed to be a decent chick that stayed to herself and proved that she was trying to feel Monique out before trusting her. After facing so much rejection once being released Monique quickly started putting her business mind to use. That chick didn't play any games and I liked the fact that she thought everything through and made sure she moved smart. Her girls were on board and helped bring more to the table and surely showed their loyalty. And then comes the hate. I don't know who was making me the maddest, Ray or his thirsty baby momma Kim. Kim sure didn't take it well being turned down. Oooh Mo started letting the beast come out but I swear Kim deserved what she got for what she did. Man where the hell Angie came from thinking she runs ish? I see why her messy behind was drawing so much attention. I realized she obviously didn't have a mind of her own to do what Ray wanted her to. I was curious to know how things would play between Mo and Orlando and I was mad at her for hurting him the way that she did. Ray going after Mo hard all because he's in his feelings but he might've just set her off in the worst way. I figured her parents use to be in the game but the role they played had me like damn!!! Now my questions for part 2 are what's the outcome of Orlando, did Lucy really know the connection between Mo and who she sent her to meet, will the girls cause more problems because of everything that's happened, will Mo get out of her feelings after learning about her parents, and will Ray finally get what he deserves for being so salty?
This was a really good book. I thought that Mo was naive as far as the coke game and dishing out punishment was concerned. Unfortunately, she had to find out the hard way that you can handle all situations diplomatically. Was very surprised about her parents.
Omg this was really good Mo just couldn't catch a break. That dang Ray needed to be put out of his misery. Just bad news. On to the next book I wanna know what happened
This book was ok. Had some cute moments but the main character Monique was a damn dummy. She was also very passive, nice and overly forgiving. All traits that a "major" cocaine supplier shouldn't possess. The book had a lot of grammatical errors. Sometimes it read like a dyslexic person wrote it. Instead of a sentence reading, "we had grown up together all of our lives" it would read, "all together our lives grow together we". Most time letters were left off. Like instead of "here" it'd be "her" "grow" instead of "grown" and so on. I might just read the 2nd book for the hell of it and because I'm bored. But I need this author to get some better word editing software for her computer or she needs to hire an editor or even get a friend that knows and understands basic English before she tries to go any further in the pursuit of her dreams. Because this shit is getting out of control. Every urban lit/street lit book I read is littered with grammatical errors. I can't stand it! I'll proofread the book for you.
What can I say about this book? It was a very good read. There was action and suspense with each turn of the page. The ending leaves the reader wanting more. I am anxious to see what is going to happen with Mo and Ray as well as the rest of the characters. This is Ms. Jacksons very first book, and I must say that she did an excellent job. I would recommend this book to anyone who has not read it yet.
Taken for a fool when your in love and then thrown away like garbage cause the heart to do lits of unthinkable things. Ray will soon come to find out how raw and uncut his life would become. With Orlando's life hanging in the limb it's time for Mo to decide on cleaning house. Am I surprised who the clean up team is.... definitely. Lol awaiting part 2 cause some people don't deserve nine lives.
Where do I start. This book was off the charts. Mo went through a lot dealing with Ray, but when she got on top she used him a a stepping stone. I hate that Ray put Mo through all this mess. She didn't deserve none of it. Mo whole family holds secrets. If you looking for a good book look no further cause this is it. I can't wait for part 2 to drop.
Yes get it this was a great story. I can't believe some of the stuff that Monique Hasbro go through but Lucy changed her life and she took her girls with her. They loyalty they had for each other was crazy and let's just say Ray need to be put to bed. I can't wait to be part 2
I love how Mo handled her business. I ready to find out what happens with Orlando. This book was good but it could have been writing a ill but better, I needed more details. Instead of saying we made love tell me how, what they did, set the mood. Step your game up. I'm still a fan of your writing I just want more :)
Not bad for a first book. There were some grammatical errors, however, I was still able to enjoy the book. I thought the main character was very amateur when it came to being in the game. Hopefully she'll make better decisions as the story goes along.
