Fountain Blues

Barrie Bennett is ecstatic about the opening of her Flea Market Flip Shop in Key Largo, Florida. Her brand-new recycling a dozen terracotta pots, vases, and urns, into a spectacular garden fountain.Well, that’s the plan, but a body under the pile of ceramic puts the job on hold.

There is a positive Captain Conklin doesn’t try to blame her for it. Yet.

She and sister Holland are looking forward to their first Thanksgiving together in many years. Until their parents come to visit. Normally, that’s a good thing…but Mom’s biological clock is booming, and Category 5 (as she’s known in private) decides Holland must reunite with her thieving, conniving ex so she can produce grandbabies. Sadly, Holland, tired of fighting them all, acquiesces and moves back to Cincinnati.

Captain Conklin returns to the scene of the crime for a perusal during daylight. And finds evidence tying Barrie to the case. Unfortunately, this time he’s determined to make the charges stick.

Maybe it's the warm weather!

I travel around absorbing earth energy and doing motivational speaking.

I'm so glad I found this series. It's highly entertaining. In this 2nd book, Barrie has to deal with the fallout of finding a dead body in her yard. Someone is trying to frame her for the murder. She doesn't fully rely on law enforcement to solve the case and clear her name. She does some investigating of her own. The author cleverly inserted twists and turns to keep me guessing. Everything was tied neatly together at the end to reveal the person responsible. Onto book 3.
