Welcome to Little Valentine...

This quintessentially English seaside village on the South-East coast is turned upside down when it suddenly becomes a fashionable resort.

Disreputable rakes, cynical Corinthians, and weary soldiers all come to mend their health and repair the damage that life or wicked existences have wrought. The crème de la crème of the ton take this charming village to their hearts and use the idyllic location as an escape from the madness of town life.

As for the ladies who live there and must deal with this sudden change to their quietly ordered lives, well, they are a force to be reckoned with, as those gentlemen are about to discover.

Dreadfully boring and soooooo many characters, unnecessary characters. The story was slow moving and not as captivating as some of her other books. There was 1 intimate scene in the last chapter only which also didn’t captivate me. I also didn’t like there wasn’t any closure with Anne’s family or her past best friend Lawrence.

This felt like reading a summary of a book. No conflict. No character growth. All the stuff happened before the story even began…FMC acted totally out of character. Spent more time setting up other characters.

got me in the end

I had trouble getting into the first part of the book for some reason. However, the last part pulled me in. I usually fall in love with the characters in anything she writes but I didn’t much care for him in the beginning. I look forward to the next book.
